@@DrAidan you're right animals are not equal. We understand that in chapter 1 when they have to vote whether wild rats and rabbit can be considered comrades. When old major sings his song, only the clever animals (pigs and dogs) learn it by heart, the others can only remember the tune or a few words.

I read this for fun in high school, not knowing about the Communism allegory. I just read it because I thought it was a cute little story about farm animals. I’m an adult now and I had the opportunity to pick up the book again and read it through more mature eyes and I now understand the allegory it was going for.

This specifically is about The Russian Revolution and Stalinism.
