      Its really not that deep to insult A's intelligence. She started off the sentence saying men, plural, so she was just confused and tried to keep it plural forgetting she had used a singular article.

      I think it's sexist, but not on Adrienne's. Because whenever i hear that BEHIND a great man theres a great woman, it makes me wonder what kind of unilateral relationship is that? What kind of sacrifice that woman must have made for that man achieve "greatness"? And why that man didn't support his woman into achieving her own goals and dreams? You know what i'm saying?

    Here in Toronto there was a blacklivesmatter protest and a brown person wanted to take part and support. So just because you know the one whos throwing the party, you would still go? eventhough the others coming to the party, dont want you to be there? If you have common sense, you would just have fun somewhere else.

    I disagree completely! We already live in a World where everything is through a male's point of view. The whole point of having a seminar about female empowerment it's because women are not equal to men. We're still fighting to get into places of power in business, politics, socially and economically. We're still fighting a salary gap. We're still looking for representation. We're still have men dictating what women should or should not do with our bodies, our life choices and in some cases, even our behavior. So... No! I don't want to hear a male point of view in how should I achieve empowerment. I'd much rather listen to women in the field of my interest tell their stories, their struggles, their challenges and how they overcame it. I'd much rather listen to their suggestions of what type of chances the business world should do to make it more welcoming for women. That's what I want it to hear in a seminar about female empowerment!

      AC THANK YOU!!!! I thought i was going crazy. Like their opinion is everywhere on everywhere. You can't have a seminar on female empowerment with just women? that's nice his mom did the damn thing and he wants to help. Just sponsor the event or something cmon. It's not weird to not include them in something like this either.

    I think what caught people off guard was the fact that this was a all women's panel empowerment event and we have a male's perspective on an ALL women's panel... I think you have to be careful when it comes to advertising your work... cuz that caused controversy and unfortunately led to the canceling of the event...HOWEVER I do think it would be good to have a man's perspective but instead of having a separate panel how about have 1 or 2 on some of the female panels to balance it out so that it's a fair and equal conversation overall!

    • @FlexyJSayers
      @FlexyJSayers 6 років тому +14

      No, what caught people off guard was their failed attempt at reading and jumping to conclusions. There was only ONE panel of men, and the ad clearly states from a MALES perspective. Before jumping the gun, how about doing the tiniest bit of research to find out the men is only one of many panels.
      Having a separate panel for MEN is exactly what was needed. Having a panels of 4 females and 1 male wouldn't do much, there wouldn't be enough 'opinions' or 'viewpoints' to carry the message across.
      This was a Women's Empowerment Event. Having a MALES perspective would require a panel of MALES, not women. There was an all male panel at a women's event containing many panels. People just need to start reading/comprehending and stop jumping to conclusions.

    I'm curious as to what would actually be said in this seminar. Even Adrienne saying I would love to have a man's point of view... regarding what exactly? In the work place, personal beliefs on how men and women should act don't belong there. Men and women should view things the same way, you're at work here not chilling with your friends. If i wanted to give an employee a loan, I wouldn't treat them differently based on their sex. I get the backlash. I feel like it would just reinforce stereotypes and encourage women to cater to how men want them to be.

      You think women have it bad? Try having the higher suicide rate, higher homicide victim rate, more likely to loose custody, men get 63% longer sentences than women for the same crime, men are 60-80% of the homeless. Men make up 97% of war deaths and alimony, 94% of work suicides, 93% of work fatalities, 81% of work deaths and etc. I could go on but who has the time for that? But ask yourself this one question: who’s really privileged?
