Is Chris Sabin the most random Heavyweight champion of a major promotion? If not who?

I must disagree with Sabin being the MOST random. That honor goes to Jinder Mahal, now and forever. I may personally be a mark for the Modern Day Maharaja, but Jinder went from the literal bottom of the card to WWE Champion and even holding the title for several PPVs with multiple wins over Orton and Nakamura. Absolutely insane to witness as it was happening.

I love the option C thing. It elevates the X division championship and is an easy way to get someone into the main event without losing. A pet peeve of mine is when a wrestler e.g. Gunther loses the midcard belt, doesn't ask for a rematch for whatever reason and then goes after the world championship.

  • @Venemofthe888

I feel like Chris Sabin being world champ was really weird like he beat Bully Ray and then lost the title to him again so it was like what was the point. I actually think his world title run did him more harm than good cause after the lost he turned heel and lost all momentum. He also went to back to the X Division. No wonder he left in 2014

This reminds me of Big E's short WWE title reign. He won the championship by cashing in his MitB contract on Bobby Lashley, who had just defended the belt against Randy Orton. It was a fluky way to win the title, and Big E wasn't booked too well as the champion. Feels like they only put him in this position to shut up the internet fans.

This is one of the 3 moments I hated about TNA. This push made no sense and weakened the belt. Beating Bully Ray could have put over anyone who never quite made it like Abyss, Matt Morgan, or James Storm. The other moments were Eric Young winning because he had a beard and the one that made me quit watching for 3yrs Tessa Blanchard winning.

I love MCMG individually more, than I do as the Tag Team ngl. The entire time I watched TNA in 2010-2013, Both Sabin & Shelley were hurt or kept leaving the company. Sabin being World Champion in 2013, felt big imo. Option C should be for only for the guys that need it. Sabin needed it. Aires (almost)needed in 2012. Then Shelly got his moment in 2023, as World Champion & he has a better reign than Sabin(Obviously). Happy that they are not only in the WWE, but Triple H is making them look very good as the WWE Tag Team Champions.
