It’s sooo crazy to think that some of us were straight up homemakers and raising kids, cooking, cleaning etc at that age. Idk if it’s advanced but our survival skills are and have always been potent.
This is why, in general, our skin is thicker. We HAD to literally face our demons. We got teased, beat down and beat up AND still had to take care of our home routine... cook, clean, take care of our younger siblings... and this was from we were 8yrs old. It just had to he done. Compartmentalise and move on💯
I’m about to have a kid and I been going back & forth with this so much. I avoided so much shit and so many people in the “freedom years” (16+) just because I didn’t need to do all the dumb shit, I been grown.
But, lowkey the only way we all grew up wuicj is because childhood wasn’t (child)hood… so where’s the middle ground 🤷🏻♂️

It’s so sweet how you speak about your daughter! Whoever said you shouldn’t be friends with your child is dead wrong… yes, be a parent first and assure that your child respects you as the parents but also be a friend.. you can balance both.. Growing up, my parents were super strict, I had a curfew till the day I got married, wasn’t allowed to own my own apartment, I’m sure you get the point lol… with that said I never felt comfortable enough to ask those teenage questions or whatever else and got those answers on my own or from friends.. I promised myself that when I have kids I would do things way different.. today I have 2 boys; 14, 17 and a 3 year old princess and i thank God every day that I kept that promise.. my kids are respectful and know damn well when I’m in parent mode but they also know they can come to me with anything and everything.. parenting is the hardest thing in the world but so rewarding when you put effort into your kids, doesn’t matter what age they get.. ❤❤

Probably the best Breakfast Club podcast I've seen. Ricardo's Authenticity Rating is 10 out of 10. This was beautiful to see the freedom of expression of speech. We are looking at the rise of authentic comedians. Comedians that are fearless in exercising the liberty and freedom that comes with free speech. Was it excessive? Yes, but that's why we advocate free speech. I've never seen the Breakfast Club Team so united and in harmony before. This was monumental. Ricardo's Authenticity Rating is 10 out of 10.
