This is the first time I have ever heard of hypothyroid myopathy. I cannot believe that all the doctors I've seen and nobody's mentioned it. I have been suffering from the most horrible muscle pain. Of course I was diagnosed as having fibromyalgia. I've been on thyroid medications and I didn't get much relief from all the hypothyroid symptoms and furthermore they made me sick. I began taking Lugol's iodine and my life has gotten much better. The pain is disappearing as I approach taking the RDA. I've been increasing the dosages slowly. I would have gone much more quickly had I known how much better I was going to feel and how much freedom I would have for muscle pain. I was going very slowly because I was trying to avoid the symptoms that come from flushing bromine. But the overall muscle pain that had me nearly paralyzed plus the fibromyalgia pain are so far gone that its like I'm a new person.
At one time I was taking a blood pressure medication that caused me to be extremely thirsty. The doctor wouldn't admit that the medication was responsible and told me simply to drink more water. I told him I was drinking a lot of water already and he said Well you're supposed to drink a gallon of water a day. So I faithfully evenly distributed the amount of water that I drink all throughout the day and kept a record. I know for absolute certainty that I was drinking a gallon of water a day. I will never ever do this again. A gallon of water is a lot of water unless you are sweating a great deal. I live in an arid environment and tend to keep the house warmer than most people do. The water caused my stomach acid to be very weak I could barely digest any of my food and this started a whole vicious cycle of problems with being undernourished. My muscle tone became terrible. I grew weak and muscle pain actually increased. I felt sick and nauseous all the time.
I've wondered why , at age 58 yrs old , I can't drink too much water as I get sick , I thought ok ,maybe I need to keep my Water intake to say 4 bottles of water pure day , or add salt ??? Thank you Mrs j Montgomery County, Texas 🙏 Extremely sad ,that we must follow a good Dr for true answers and other subscribers.
I live in Florida and this past summer has been incredible hot and water is a must but now I have been adding electrolytes because it is so easy to get dehydrated
I drink distilled water only and add a pinch of pink himilayan salt but I’ll admit since winter I haven’t been drinking enough so thank you for this video! I’m back on it!
I dont have a thyroid and when i started early menapouse my hormons leftvme i gained so much weight and i drink loadscwater and eat clean. Menapouse messes your thyroid bad
I couldn't find a video that talks about how to increase/ or balance low cortisol level. Most of the videos in youtube is about how to decrease cortisol. Cortisol level is 67. Please advise. Thank you Doctor.
I used to drink waaaay too much water/unsweetened herbal tea. It was like an addiction that resulted in so many nighttime wakings that ruined my sleep for years. After weaning off of excess water/tea, I can actually sleep through the night and feel more well rested. But I do occasionally feel dehydrated. Titrating the amount tends to result in no sleep. I can't even get this very basic function of human existence right 🤣
If you drink lots of water will it still help thyroid my thyroid went up to 18 from 16 had to stop Cytomel cramps and abdominal pain i might need something else to help me.
What if you also have Sjogren’s Syndrome? It’s not only stopping you from producing tears & saliva (I always have to put slow melting pills in my mouth, but they’re expensive) or chewing gums, but my jaws are worn out so I shouldn’t chew gum at all. And of course Sjogren’s also make your skin & inner organs dry & drinking water doesn’t help enough. The nights are not easy 😔… Any suggestions?
Dear doctor my T3 is - 3.7, T4 - 1, TSH - 9.5 and my hair is falling in clumps since August (1/3rd is still left on my head). Though my water intake is good. I have just started levothyroxin 50mg four days ago but did not notice any change. I want to know Is this the right dose of medication or do I need to change it. Will my hair grow back with this medicine? Please suggest. Many thanks!
I was on levothyroxine for a while, and had issues with it. Its not actually super bio available unfortunately. I would see if your insurance covers tirosint. Its much more bio available with less side affects. If not, i would ask about finances associated with it. I pay 60$ for a month supply and take it every other day. After months of my levels not moving from the synthroid, they finally started to increase.
Hello, unfortunately you will not see any benefit until after maybe a month or so on Levothyroxine. Dr's usually wait 3-4 months until your next appointment to see how you are adjusting and if symptoms have improved. I have had alopecia areata since I was first diagnosed with Hashimotos Hypothyroidism 5 years ago and I am still struggling with it. Also, ask your Dr. about dosing according to your weight. Many studies I have read say that the majority of patients are under treated and that you should be getting 1.6-2.0 mcg of T4 for every KG of body weight. But Dr's do not prescribe that way. They start with minimal doses and increment up very slowly all the while you are suffering. Read everything you can get your hands on and watch every video. You must educate yourself because you really can't depend on your Dr, to do it.
@alainexpat levothyroxine isnt bio available though. I was on it for a few months, i took it everyday and was basically over dosing. I took it every few days, and wasnt getting enough. My t4 didnt move the entire time. You're supposed to get labs every 4 weeks to check. It really depends on the person and the provider.
@@iriskoomi2857 Yes, if bioavailability is a problem than take the T4 subligually - under the tongue. By doing this you avoid the digestive system and it goes directly into the blood. My labs didn't move either until I 1) started taking sublingually and 2) dosed according to weight.
Please be aware that only 8% of people worldwide live in the USA. The rest of us have no idea what ounces of water, cups, or gallons are.

Mountain Valley Spring Water delivered to your home in 5 gallon glass jugs.
I started drinking hot water and it's awesome! I drink so much more water now when it's hot. It's just like tea without the tea. lol
You've address and explained so much more about my thirst issue more than both endocrinologists I've seen this year. Thank you very much!
Thanks! Very helpful. Merry Christmas everybody 🎄🎁🙏
I drink only spring water, I think the fluoride in the tap water was blocking my thyroid function, I had cold fingers, now I dont.
In my case, i never or hardly ever get thirsty. And i always dehydrated and with lots of physical damage 💔.
DONT just glug water down without adding sea salt or Himalayan salt to it….
Just glugging water down dilutes essential minerals.

I agree 👍
Adding a little sulfur MSM to your water does great things for thyroid.
Thank you for this valuable information. I have to drink more water.
To anyone living in Australia 64 ounces is 1.893 Litres & 1 gallon of water is 3.785 Litres 💦
Can you do a video on subacute thyroiditis? I heard that it can be treated with prednisone, do you think that’s all you will need?

What of for hyperthyroidism? Does it work same way?

What about all the chemicals that are put into water by the water treatment plants.?
Well...drink mineral water

Try Armour Thyroid. It's natural and doesn't cause cancer like Levothyroxine

Dr. Child's- does hot herbal or black tea count toward water intake.
If it is caffeine free it counts.
Black tea, as well as green, is high in flouride. Which is a neuro toxin.
My pee is mostly clear.
U really sound like a robot talking
what if you had a thyroidectomy and don't have a thyroid no more?
Right ? Good question I am in the same boat.
