now that... that's a unique premise, we can finally see the defense force not too dependent on ultraman, and actually make a difference
While this is one of the few defense team that did not really much on the Ultra at the end, it definietly isn't the first.
While not fully shown and only told in one of the Mega Monster Battle / Ultraman Zero movies or special, the defense force "Crew GUYS"(Mebius/Mirai Hibini's team) after the Ultraman Mebius series were really really competent.
In fact they were so competent at defeating kaijus themselves they went extinct lmao.
The one thing about nobody focuses on, is the main themes. For instance, the theme of Ultraman Blazar is that it is better to learn to understand each other, rather than annihilate each other out of fear. Varallon represents everything wrong with annihilation out of fear, as it only exists because both sides chose destruction out of fear. Meanwhile, Gento & Blazar represent understanding others, as they unite because of their unified goal, they only gain the tilsonite sword when they understand each other, & even though Blazar is an alien, it has become Gento's comrade.
And this doesn't just apply to Blazar. Decker's biggest theme was that cooperation is better than control (shown with spheres and the alliance).
Z's biggest theme was ultimately the importance of empathy, as Haruki learned to care for those he killed, while Celebro didn't care at all & did whatever he wanted regardless of the consequences.
Now, Trigger wasn't the best series, but I think the main theme was obsessions. If Kengo hadn't realized that he was still human, he would've drove himself to fight to death. Ignis had an obsession of revenge for Hudram, but he eventually realized he couldn't prioritize it over his friends. Carmeara on the other hand, kept wanting things to go back to the way they were. At one point, Yuna points out that the unstable eternity core could lead to the end of the universe, which Carmeara says it's fine as she'll have Trigger. Yuna then proceeds to call out the fact that that makes no sense, and she's right. If the universe ends, Carmeara won't have Trigger. But because of her obsession, she can't stop.

Of course the Blazar Kōsen would be unleashed in the final battle.
The Blazar Kousen really reminds me of Ultraman Fighting Evolution Rebirth Spacium Kousen. Both of them shows a lot of power, both Blazar and OG Ultraman also struggled from the recoil of the beam.
Both beams are also seen to be very destructive.
Im still hoping Taguchi releasethe director cut of Ultraman Blazar Final Episode. It felt rush, because of time slot at Japan TV

Honestly i found it unique that blazar used a spear of light instead of a beam to finish enemies. I thought that was his version of the beam but it was an even bigger surprise when they showed it at the end instead.
