Hey James, thank you for the kind words! Yeah man the pickups are awesome! I am just struggling a bit with the feedback they create at high volumes due to not being potted. How do you use the BK mules?
back to the roots mate ;) I totally understand - there's just something special about an original Marshall Plexi! I sold the Bogner Helios today and will probably put a JCM800 or Plexi in the Studio as soon as I have the funds
The Smallbox is a great amp. Have an older BE-100 and Friedman customer support is second to none and the build quality is top notch. Bogner amps are similar in build . it is up to you. If buying a Bogner would get an 101B.
I was also considering getting a BE-100 but I guess I never need the 100 W of power ;) Yeah the Friedman customer support is crazy good. The difference I would say is that the Bogner is built in much lower numbers and thus has more of an artsy, boutiquy, unique appearance.
@@joapguitar i mean, they both sounds amazing. bogner just seemed super open and bloomed more full. i could hear that chimeyish growl that one would think of a hot rodded plexi to to sound like. esp in the 80s mode.
Nice playing! I liked both amps. To me, the Friedman was better for the rhythm playing and the Bogner was better for the leads (seemed to really jump out of the mix). I have wanted both amps for a long time. I would probably prefer a 3-channel version of the Smallbox (Wildwood has a 3-channel version). Which felt better to play/under your fingers?
@@leftygtrplr6184 hey buddy thanks a lot 😎🤟 The bogner feels a bit thinner and harder to play under the fingers just like a marshall jcm800 or Plexi would do. I love the Smallbox for soloing... That appears to be exactly my sound! The bogner has killer tones in it too but it's not my comfort zone... But we are talking small differences here, both amps are killer 😃🔥
Yeah I tried these as well! Also great amps. For the Plex I'd go with a pedal to get my solo tones. I just played it at the Guitar Summit this year so I still need to do an in-depth test ;)

Had both at different points. Both great amps. In the end I just prefer a normal 1987x with a boost in the front.

@@joapguitar Nice
Honestly depending on location, I'd just get a Ceriatone All Access Plexi and be done lol

@jake13b thx for the feedback 👍🏾 are you from captain Koerg guitars?

Both great. Maybe only the Friedman Plex and Suhr SL67 mkII can sound even better than these.

@@joapguitar Oh yes, it's one of those pure classic vintage tone that really needs a quiet environment to be appreciated.
