Also regarding our language... today we speak mix garo language in garo hills...Am.beng +a.we mix ...but in study we should write in A .we ...a.we sub tribe live mostly Assam and north garo hills...... And this sub tribe got first education and made a.we dielecl as standard garo language not ambeng ... But there's still lot of ambeng subtribe speaking their language..but somet tribes forgot ther language
A'chik measa hills and mande means man..... A'chik Mande means... hills mans ....but we shortly called us A'chik ...garo terms given by non-garo ...we have 12 Sub Tribes..Am.beng or a.beng is largest among all sub-tribes. Nokpante used to both as hostel and institutions or temporarily bachelors house...in ancient times we never lived or stay after around 10/12 ..so we need to go and live nokpante...in nokpante we learnt everything about daily life works like cultivating, local medicine, fight and defence and making those bamboo goods only in special occasion we have right to go at our house...so it's kinda restrictions to mans... In nokpante woman are not allowed...if she inter she would get punishment....nok means House and pante means bachalor or man or guys... together its become house of bachalor .... Before the pre christian... the father asked his daughter if she interested in Guy ..so father allow to kidnap her crush and make him to agree his daughter..so there's alot of ceremony or works to get married...we man don't allow to hang out with women in those days nor women allow to dating in early age was forbidden....in wangala festival that is one of the most favorable occasion to meet and express their love one so ...on wangala every young Teenage unmarried woman or man participate and express their like or love in rhyming style or folks song that we called as Doroa, sorry i only know doroa ... there's alot of folks song that sing in wangala....'chu' means wine 🍷 chubok means white white... because its colour is white... there's a lot of information but Hard to write....
Garo people are residing in Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal, West Bengal, Assam-Bhutanborder, and Bangladesh.
