Love mine! Those 23 tomahawks probably cost almost as much as the grill.

Love to. I do not have this XL unit, I have the freestanding BBQ03SS, which I eventually took off the cart and mounted it in a patio wall. I love cooking on it. It is a learning curve though. You have to be patient. Start your fire at least an hour before you want to start cooking and use only coals. You cannot force feed your heat. It takes a lot of tending to, it's not a "put food on and forget it" type of cooker. Everything we've cooked so far has been amazing (including ribs and a brisket) and we really have not even tapped into all of the cooking availability. I've used the warming rack for corn and the griddle for eggs. It's a conversation cooking experience, meaning to grab a friend a chair and a drink and cook. The quality is phenomenal, and their customer service is great. I had many questions before I made such an investment. All were answered promptly. I have many of their accessories including the rotisserie. We are hoping to do a small pig this year. If you are really into outside cooking and will use it more than a few times each season, I would not hesitate to buy one. If it's an experimental "fad" because your buddy has one, I would hold off until you're sure it's what you want. I exhausted the internet when I bought mine. There are several companies that make this style grill. I have ZERO regrets that I went with TAGWOOD. I could go on & on about how much I love this grill. I hope this helps. @@gsmoneygsmoney1479

@@sgtshak2806 Excellent review. Thank you very much . Yes I have had a santa Maria style grill before and clearly remember the process. I had one built by Sunterra . It was extremely heavy and well built. My concern with the Tagwood products is it seems as though, Although Stainless made very very thin.

This was my first Santa Maria but I own numerous cookers. After it was delivered, I had zero reservations about purchasing it. Not flimsy or cheap at all.
I would suggest that if you decide to go with one, do not just order it online. I would call them and speak with them because there are some discounted pricings available. At least there was when I bought my set up. If I had one piece to maybe change on it, I would maybe want more teeth on the lowering sprocket. @@gsmoneygsmoney1479
