*Comments have been disabled as of 11/5/24. I decided to keep them open for discourse leading up to the election, but always planned to disable them after. I also changed the title of the video a few times leading up to the election. The current title reflects the past tense since I have now voted. I'll leave this video up just for the record.
epistemic status: Obviously, it's election season, so I've been having conversations about this with friends. I attended my first Pride Parade a few weeks ago and had a good experience speaking about some of these differences with the attendees. I read "The Quest for Cosmic Justice" by Thomas Sowell and "Toxic Empathy" by Allie Beth Stuckey and both books offered an interesting contrast to the more progressive/woke literature I've been reading the past couple of months. This video was an attempt at making sense of everything I've been thinking and applying that to who I'm voting for.
about: I’m just a Christian guy trying to thoughtfully address issues I care about. I don’t take myself too seriously, and neither should you. You may not agree with my conclusions or methods-that’s your prerogative. My goal isn’t to change your mind; only you can do that. I have no interest in debating with anyone, and I won’t. My commitment is simply to keep an open mind as I explore, learn, and change my views when presented with better information. That said, there are core beliefs and a worldview that shape what and how I share. If those beliefs are an issue for you, then you’re probably not part of my target audience, and I wish you well in finding something that resonates with you.
