    ooh you are beautiful 😍
Loved it, I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area, specifically Silicon Valley -- it's about 56 miles south of San Francisco, and is part of the area because it touches the south end of San Francisco Bay -- and I'm glad you came and enjoyed it! Now you know why millions of people come to visit San Francisco from all over the world! 70% are repeat visitors! 🙂
You missed out on two of my favorite things to do in San Francisco -- the Exploratorium and the Academy of Sciences! They are both science museums. The Exploratorium has a more artistic aspect to it!! It's at Pier 15. The Academy of Sciences is in Golden Gate Park. On Thursdays, both places have Adult Only nights, in which alcohol is served, and there is a science or community values lecture. 🙂Also in Golden Gate Park is the Bison Paddock, where various bison live in a fenced off area, you can go and look at them. The zoo is not far from there, in the southeast corner of the city.
Good idea to fly from SF to LA, that how most of us do it....driving via I-5 takes five hours and the train (amtrak Coast Starlight) takes ten hours.
I will say though, that the Coast Starlight, if you fly down to LA and take all the way to Seattle, is an amazing train ride. If you get the Roommette or Bedroom, you have a bed all to yourself where you can go to sleep, and you have three square meals a day, cooked by a chef, included in the price. There's also a sightseer lounge with swivel chairs that point outward. 🙂
There's a project to build a HSR from SF to LA, but the project has been a complete disaster...I'm proud I voted no, tough I am a liberal...and there's also a seperate project to upgrade the train tracks from San Diego to San Jose (and beyond to Sacremento) and increase the average speed of trains there, which should ultimately make the train on the coast as fast if not faster than driving (that one won't be HSR, though).
The cable cars, those are anachronisms that are maintained for historical reasons....to get around in SF, we locals use "muni" -- the buses, and modern light rail -- and BART, a modern subway (like the London Underground). 🙂

btw SF's population density is comparable to London! San Francisco is 7,194 people per square kilometer, and London is 5,640 people per square kilometer!
Of course, the total number of people in London is much greater. SF is only about 800,000 people. 🙂
There's actually more people down here in "Silicon Valley", around one million, with 980,000 in San Jose itself (San Jose is my city). But the population density is quite a bit less down here, 2,194 per square kilometer. 🙂
