A house with this many gables was designed not out of logic but merely to impress. And from the back, with its many levels and a foundation that is 50 feet in height, it is ugly. As for all that stonework and huge timbers inside and out, and ceilings 30 feet up, this house is cold rather than warm and cozy, as I feel a house should be.
