In 3.5 I had a character with a small ooze companion he kept in a glass jar. It was very useful for melting through door locks or quietly assassinating foes as they slept. Definitely a fun toy to have!
Cubes are usually more flammable than other oozes and are your lair Roomba’s. Black puddings melt everything except stone mostly. Ochre Jelly are your basic jelly’s. Grey oozes are your stealthy jelly’s.
I was also going to add that. Also, there is something similar in a segment of the movie Creepshow 2; "The Raft". That came to mind when you said they can swim. There was also a Godzilla movie; Godzilla vs Hedorah in which the monster is rather ooze-like, as it feeds on toxic waste and pollution.
I frequently listen to your content while playing simple video games, and when you were talking about other stuff I was playing Terraria and thought about the slimes in there right before you mentioned it.
Ghaunadaur and yhe great mother are my personal favorites, so thanks for the content pertaining to them, youve earned my respect for your good taste, and also my subscription. GG
Plausibly because people don't want to be eaten I've when they take a dump and wizards don't want to spend all their time maintaining domination over the oozes.
the key to turning an ooze to jello is the simple spell called purify food and drink. Also how my cleric saved the barbarian one time

I’d wager oozes are based off The Blob. Looks and operates just the like the thing. So simple and terrifying especially if cornered.
Good insight! I didn't think of this, but I would wager you are correct.

Not quite a dnd original, but definitely more popular monster type because of dnd!
"You took a little too long!. Now it's slime time!"
-Narrator from Space Quest IV
Great podcast. I just made a homebrew 5e ooze druid, so I can finally play as a gelatinous cube or black pudding. Don't stop believin'.
The most terrifying ooze I've heard of was the one in the AtLA spinoff novel, Rise of Kyoshi
dudes the movie The Blob is from 1958
first ooze ever
Good point. Forgot about that movie.
Another fantastic episode!
I enjoy these videos. Their videos help me come up with new ideas, and fun concepts to implement into my own sessions.
This needs a part 2 for the Oblex

Slithering Ooze = Slimy Revanent
...so in a world with oozes, puddings and gelatinous cubes why has no wizard made a gelatinous Cube toilet or sewer system in a city? .
Good question.
Plausibly because people don't want to be eaten I've when they take a dump and wizards don't want to spend all their time maintaining domination over the oozes.
In 3.5 there was a massive Flesh Ooze
Sharkbowl Ooze
I also enjoy learning the cool things. Also, since when is the break called "bump-time"?
Hablamannen I think before we started calling it the "short rest" we used to call it "the bump" lol.
Yay i can't wait to play a sentient sword!
Is there a playable ooze type race
sqaul
Depends on the edition. In 3.5 there were definitely options
I hate my life, my family was murdered. Turn me in to the ooze. Lolol
Ooze a necromancer best friend/familiar =)?
Hello gaunadar patron of oozes not jubilix he's the oldest god in the dark elven pantheon
