A Chat with a Writer: Gary Krishna

Lead artist and prison performer for The Outsider's Project, Gary Krishna, chats to us about his recovery, prison life and helping and supporting prisoners to express themselves through writing.
Gary performed during the 2024 Writing Festival's finale: Writing Home - Stories From the Edges of Print, as well as numerous tours and performances within Bournemouth and the local prison system. Gary talks about his journey from addiction to recovery, through to his connection with inmates to help them find a way out, and why writing about what you know about creates authentic and real stories.
