Never, ever, less than 100% from Dimash, he lives and breathes that which he sings about. Singer, performer, artiste and total, sincere, commitment to anything that he does. He has and indeed is, a gift from God.
Dimash hasn't performed this song on video since. When he sang it on "The Singer", he was pretty sick. He could not speak and needed throat injections, the Dr said "no high notes".
He nailed it! Everyone was emotional.
When he went backstage, he put his hand to his throat. 🙁
He later was reported to say that every note felt like he had broken glass in his throat. That is one of the most painful, gut-wrenching performances I've ever seen from an artist.
He said that when he first heard this song at 10, his whole body was trembling. As someone who is extremely close to his family, it’s a very emotional song for him. He first sang it on The Singer and he lost his voice the night before the performance. He had to sing it anyway, through injections, with immense pain in his throat, and said it felt like he had swallowed broken glass. Miraculously, his voice came back for the performance, but as soon as he got off the stage he couldn’t even talk anymore. So The Singer performance is particularly emotional because he has this visible physical pain in addition to the sadness of the song.

Dimash literally became the boy while singing and you can hear the despair of the boy in Dimash’s voice. As someone mentioned in the chat, this song is a tearjerker.
Correct: “Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where many people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau!

Without a doubt one of Dimash's finest performances. He has never sung this gut-wrenching song again.❤
We're experiencing through his voice, orchestration and dramatisation - no need to see a suspension thriller. He keeps my breath bated, and that after listening countless times.
Dimash performed “Daybreak” on the Chinese show I Am Singer a few months before this performance at his first large scale solo concert “Bastau” (“Beginning”) in Kazakhstan on his return home from China in 2017 - he was welcomed home a hero by 30,000 countrymen and fans from around the world.
His performance on I Am Singer was incredible notwithstanding he had lost his voice the night before and had been taken to hospital the next morning to have injections in his throat so he could perform that night. Two great performances of Daybreak but the Bastau performance was extraordinary in its delivery.

👉 This is Dimash's big first solo concert in Astana called ‘Bastau/ Beginning, shortly after the show 'The Singer 2017'. This concert was given to him by his hometown as a welcome home and as a thank you for his huge success in China. 30. 000 people from all over the world took part.
In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! (Only via video) I had to wait a few long years before I could see Dimash live in Prague (2022).
This song based on a true tragic story and is very well known in China. In 1999 14 people died in a cable car accident in China. The parents of a little boy lifted their son to safety, and they themselves died. Original singer and songwriter Han Hong later adopted the child.
Dimash sings with so much pain in his voice it literally tears him apart ... and I can't stop crying.

You have no idea how grateful I am that someone told you to react to the backstory as well. Usually, many people recommend this video without any context. As someone once mentioned in a comment, I totally agree that it's always very frustrating when reactors only react to the Bastau version but don't know the sad story of this song and don't even try to turn on the subtitles. I can understand that many of the Dears would prefer the reactions to this version simply because it is incredibly powerful. However, in my opinion (and you've confirmed it) it loses a lot of impact if you don't know why he sings the way he sings. As powerful as this performance is, I get nauseous when the reactants jump in the seat and yell "yeah, good, great, perfect" without knowing what they are actually reacting to.
There is another version of Daybreak. The first time he sang this song in The Singer competiton in China also in 2017. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him. They knew he was not doing well and one of them even gave him a very expensive Chinese medicine from his own inventory. The problem was his busy schedule between the performances and he didn’t have enough time to recover. He made very good friends there and many friendships still exist today. After the performance he lost his voice again.
It’s unbelievable how he always manages to convey emotions to such a degree. Though I think in this one particular version the emotions he shows are mostly concern about his voice keeping up with the song and the pain he must have been in doing it.

You might want to see Dimash sing when no other artist would go on stage.
What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly.

He was in China at the time and determined that he must perform it.
While he loves all humanity, he has a special place in his heart for little ones.

Both of his siblings are younger than he and he did the same thing with them.

I can't recall how many times I cried for this song. Even after a few hundred times and watching the reactor...I'm still in tears. The loved and sacrifice of a parents are beyond words. Dimash clearly felt it and said that he was shivering listening to this song for the first time and he was only 10 years old back then (from his interview) and the original singer Han Hong called him to give him her support before he sing this song for the first time.

Dimash sang this song on The Singer 2017. Han Hong called him to personally thank Dimash for choosing to sing her song. He had lost his voice and was ill the morning of his performance and was taken to the hospital and received injections in his throat. You could see he was in a lot of pain but still performed. It was a great performance and at the end, the pain returned to his eyes. He is the epitome of a great performer.
