RTVS streams are so funny because there will be a completely mundane point of discussion and then Baaulp and Mira will materialize with the most emotionally charged responses, and Gir will be antagonizing everyone he can the whole time.

the idea of somebody looking at an ice cream sandwich and being like "wow..... the WHOLE thing?? that's a little too extreme for me....." is killing me lmao
one of my favorite parts about RTVS is when they bring their incredible silly but intense arguments onto streams and things get heated as everyone weighs in and people in the VC start wanting to move on while others keep arguing
Wayne says you can't/wouldn't leave a half-cut/half-eaten ice cream sandwich in the freezer for 2 weeks, but I'm going to argue that you could leave the ice cream sandwich in the freezer for 4 months *at bare minimum* and it'd taste just the same, because its a fucking freezer.
not only is wayne objectively correct but i dont care for ice cream sandwiches because its such a commitment to eat the whole thing before it melts but saving half of it is perfect! its not even about eating it the next day you can eat the second half right when you finish the first you've just kept it cold
Mira was the rightest honestly. Like yeah i'm on the side that its *fine* to put the fucking sandwich back in, it won't kill ya it'll just be a bit worse consistency-wise, but like. Who in the god damn doesn't eat the whole thing. Like even if you have to portion out your sugar intake or something for medical reasons at that point you should probably be working in a serving size that isn't ice cream sandwiches like who the hell only eats HALF. Baaulp wasn't right though. Like you don't eat half and put it back in the freezer because you don't eat half *period*, not because of any noteworthy alteration to the quality or safety of the sandwich itself.

How is this a debate still lmao. No one's forcing you to do it - I would never do it, for example - but putting half an ice-cream sandwich in the freezer to finish it later is _completely fine_ and there's no excuse that can justify the position of thinking it's inherently wrong! It doesn't matter if you _think_ it'll get freezer burnt, or lose quality, or eventually go bad, or whatever - those are conditions dependent on the mode of storage and timeframe of consumption. Just like with any other food you stick in a freezer, you have to be mindful of those two aspects *always,* so by assuming user failure you may as well be arguing that no one should use a freezer ever LMAO. How people continue to argue against it after the question is made even less ambiguous by solving the only two "faults" by establishing that A: the sandwich will be kept in a sealed (airtight or not) container, and B: the sandwich will be consumed in a short amount of time, can only be explained as trolling. Even if you don't _agree_ with it, half an ice-cream sandwich is a perfectly _respectable_ portion size.
i think the argument is dependent on if you have roommates/people you live with. if they're solely your ice cream sandies, go nuts go hog wild. if you have to share them then leaving half of one is a dick move bc potentially someone is robbed of a whole sandwich experience if theres only a half one left
if it's not the literal last sandwich then your argument makes no sense. if i take one granola bar out of the box am i robbing my roommate of that specific one?
in my experience if i were to put half an ice cream sandwich back into the freezer it would take five minutes or less for me to go back to the freezer and finish the other half so there’s absolutely no point to put the sandwich back. also that thin paper wrapping they put on all the ice cream sandwiches always rip when i open them in my case and get all soggy so the wrapping would be discarded by the time i think “i don’t want this actually”. ziplock gives it the weird taste too since the ice cream been rubbing up against all that plastic. it is SIGNIFICANTLY easier to just eat it in one sitting like you’re at a friends birthday party
eating only half an ice cream sandwich and putting it back for a day is wrong in the same way eating only half of normal sandwich and putting it back for a day is wrong.
Came back to this video for a laugh and I'm still perplexed by this comment. You cut sandwiches in half. It's even MORE normal to put half away than for ice cream sandwiches. You could just stick it in the fridge and eat the other half later. The sandwich isn't going to *rot*
Those two things are not comparable! You would put a sandwich in the fridge at most, and it's not FROZEN, which hugely changes how much it will decay while it's put away. Second, people do that all the time. Third, the difference in decay between an ice cream sandwich and a regular sandwich is huge. Totally incomparable, nil pois!
You cannot eat half and put it back in, even if you are careful with the package, it's going to get air and condense, and it will be full of fake freezer ice but also kinda sloppy and wet, DO NOT DO IT OR YOUR TUMMY WILL HURT REAL BAD FOR AN HOUR
