      One cannot simply say this is best in case of Choosing one between Carnatic and Western music. Both are almost like learning a new language and they are equally appreciable..
      If a kid is interested in music they can choose either of those two. Whatever they learn let them learn happily...And that's the best opinion I can give.

    Learning violin (from Western classical music standpoint) is like planting a bamboo tree. One needs to play for years continuously to get a sweet sound. It takes anywhere between 10-15 years to professionally play stuff, all the techniques. The investment is also a huge factor, you need to keep upgrading your instrument as your level keeps increasing. A good French violin costs about USD 2500.

    Nice video brother. Could you make a video on how to use a Carnatic background to make pop music? Can’t find anyone doing this. If we can find a way to bring Carnatic music to mass appeal, it will be massu.

    Can I use the same tuning of the strings(GDAE) if I wanted to play a carnatic song on the violin

    Can a same violin be used in western and Carnatic??
    I'm learning Carnatic for about 6 months. I was interested in western too. So I bought another violin. Both violin sounds different. My interest in learning Western is no more. So that's why I'm asking.
    The brand of violin that I bought for learning Western is Havana.

      Western Classical means - Western music

    Hii Saravana. Could you please explain me in English about 3rd position, 1st position which you discussed at the end.

    • @saravanaviolinist1215
      @saravanaviolinist1215  5 років тому

      It takes so much time to play in 3rd position in case of Western Violin. You cannot simply go to 3rd position unless you play in tune with your 1st position..Even playing in tune in case of 1st position takes so much time if you are a beginner..
      Whereas in carnatic their is no such thing called 1st 3rd or 5th position...Even the basic lessons like Geetham(basic songs) consist of all kind of notes which are considered difficult to reach in Western music..And that's why you can see most of the carnatic Violinist playing in 3rd position often..

    Hello Bro... I am a carnatic violin learner.... I want to buy E shruthi strings ... but those are different from the EADG for western right....so how to buy.... so should i buy e3 b3 and e4 b4....is that right

    • @saravanaviolinist1215
      @saravanaviolinist1215  4 роки тому +1

      Use the same GDAE (Western)strings for Carnatic..G and D remains the same...Use tuning pegs to change A and E to G and D.. so it becomes GDGD(Carnatic)
