@michaelanthony He is matching the engine revs with the trans speed to release pressure on the gears so he can shift without the clutch. The trans has no syncros.
@gordonitis It also matches the engine soeed with what it will be in the lower gears. If he does not do it the engine braking will break the rear tires lose and he might spin or over rev the engine.
------ That pilot, and many current drivers know only accelerate. Do not know how to drive a race car. The shifter is hooked to pedal ascelerador, so that the lower gear change, the accelerator pedal a little bump to get the engine does not fall turns. In Argentina it is known as 'toe and heel' because the tip of the foot is used to brake and the heel of the shoe to accelerate, not a bar that connects the throttle shifter.
what? a gearbox doesn't "rotate to higher rpm's" when you press the clutch! you blip the throttle on downshift because when the clutch is released with a lower gear selected, the engine output shaft better match the transmission shaft speed or you'll risk locking up the drive wheels. in a rear-engine car prone to oversteer already, that's a recipe for a spin.
Sounds really good . I ended up counting the shifting the last lap . Great video , these cars sounds great .

@bnracer08 No computer. It's got straight cut gears and no syncros. you just pull into gear. No clutch release required.
yes,it is.

it's not computer...sequential is essentially a manual gearbox. all mechanical. no electronic involved.
It's called a sequential shifter. you don't need a clutch. It's all computer's now-a-days.
u shouldn't hate about something u know nothing about, and man, u really have no idea do you?
yuck.i like the traditional clutch, shifter.the whole nine haha
Left foot should be out the window.
the speedway is very boring
