You HAVE TO BE FREAKING KIDDING ME with this wizardry! He's an actual sorcerer! This had to have some of the most incredible moments I've ever seen any athlete perform in it...wow!
Thank you to everyone for making such great suggestions and helping me learn more about the wonderful world of FOOTBALL! Let me know below what else you'd like to see!

Yes, I am now aware the the goal post trickery was fake for a commercial. To remind you all...I'm not a football coach, I don't watch football and that was the first time seeing it, so have mercy on old coach lol. Or don't. Your call. Either way, thanks for watching and check out all the other great videos here at PPA!
Also you were confused by ronaldinho tricking the goalie, borrowing his water to throw everyone off. There is no offside on throw ins (out of bounds turnover).
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he actually did it.
Also Zidane told a history where Maradona did the same trick.
One does not simply tell Gaucho to use his head instead of his back, Gaucho tells you to applaud the unprecedented effort

First* not only. Iniesta and Xavi...
Maradona was the first.

yesss I was shocked lmaoo
Every one from south Malaysia knows Ronaldinho and this guy doesn't hahaha
The greatest showman in the game's history. It was so much fun watching Ronaldinho. Today's footballers are like machines with their movements; they've drilled the skills into their databases but Ronnie was totally organic. There are many footballers who have better stats than him but the pleasure of watching his magic is incomparable. 🐐
When you called him "Magician", you put a smile on my face. Because Football Magician and Smiling Assassin are his nick names on the pitch. He never rages. He always smile. So he doesn't have a hater. No matter which club fan you are. You love Ronaldinho. The actual Football Magician.😊
He always puts smile on my face he the best for me
Such a shame. He could have easily been top 5 all time had he completely committed to the sport. Ong he could have been r9 type level of not better
That's so true, I'm a Chelsea fan so I saw his magic dump my team out the cl a few times. Still adore the man, he was an amazing footballer and will always be a kind soul.

I still think the best of Ronaldinho was better than anyone ever. But Messi and Ronaldo have sustained their level longer, so I rate them higher for Goat.
@@SPQSpartacus nah.. Messi's best is still better.. When messi was at his best, busquets just have to tap the ball to him and messi will go past all players easily.. Just look at his goal against Rm in 2011 or do I even have to mention his other solo goals

There is no offside infraction when a player receives the ball
directly from:
• a goal kick or
• a side throw or
• a corner kick
Arigato! Didn't know that
You can be offside from a goal kick. However, you can't score directly from them (neither can you from a throw).
@@OtherSideOfMorning there is no offside from a goal kick.
I love Ronaldinho Cuz he was smiling and having a good time all the time, showing sportsmanship and pure skill and talent.
Interesting fact: The clip at the end of people clapping is from a Barcelona X Real Madrid match (mortal rivals spanish teams). He had such an outstanding performance that even the opposing team supporters were applauding him by the end.
Further to that fact, Real Madrid fans only ever gave a standing ovation to three opposition players at their home ground, Ronaldinho was the second to have received it, the first was Johan Cruyff (also a Barcelona player at the time), the other being Alessandro Del Piero of Juventus.
It was also a hat trick he scored in that game taking el clasico. We arent getting another R10 ever
Also Iniesta when barca won 0-4 in 2016
He was the reason real Madrid bought Santiago Munez
for me as a Brazilian, Ronaldinho was the best player of all time. Always during the games, we never asked which team would win, we just wanted to see what magic the wizard would do that day.
Ronaldinho is probably the most skillful player ever. Absolutely unbelievable touch and control.
In terms of actually playing football, he's the goat.
How is it possible to be a coach without knowing ronaldinho?
He is not a football coach
lol you only need to be alive . Everyone knows Ronaldinho .
I knew who he was, was marginally aware of his style of play, but I'm not a football coach nor did I play the sport. I'm a performance coach.
Like people on youtube reacting to matrix films "for the first time" lol.

Funny how you called him a witch because that's exactly how we call him here in Brazil, "bruxo", or witch, in English (or warlock, I'm not sure if witches are female only)
Also, about that water bottle trick, he would be considered offside regularly, however, the offside rule does not apply to throw-ins, and his team was taking a throw-in. So the trick was that he was simply trying to look innocent, getting that water, so the defenders would not realize he was actually getting into position for the play.
that's funny! Thanks for explaining that

If you are out of the pitch lines, it's not offside either. ;)

Offside doesn’t count during throw ins, so he deliberately asked for the water to be in the position
Iirc they disallowed the goal though, correct?
@@The_Skrub there's no offside from throw-ins
@@The_Skrub yeah throw ins are weird like that, if you throw the ball in a goal but no one touched it it’s considered to be out of bounds si keeper ball.
It’s because the ball is coming from outside the field, that’s why it not an offside and that’s why you can’t score from a throw in.
There is also no offside from a goalkick.
One of my first ever memories as a child is that free kick goal vs England. That's when I fell in love with football. That's when Ronaldinho became my favorite ever player.
Love how he said “this is just confidence”

Indeed
He is art
His artistry is unmatched. One of the reasons I love the game so much.
Arguably the most gifted player in the history of the sport...
And played the whole time with a smile on his face... legend
The thing about Ronaldinho was not just the amazing ball control and speed, but his change of pace was inhuman. The way he could stop and accelerate while performing skill moves was what made him so dangerous on the run. There is still nobody who could keep up/stop prime Ronaldinho. Every movement would fake you out, even if he followed through with it.
What i actually loved about him was the fact that in his face he was enjoying it. Without having this ego that is common nowadays. It was a pleasure to see him (and the other great brazilian's team pleayers) defaut our national team ovear and over again hahaha
@@ChagoME If football players were more like Ronaldinho, I would have loved football, but most of them are on ego trips :(
I also have great ball control 😏
Old man Ronaldo had the same pace ball in feet towards the goal. Efficiency.
Ronaldhino just did the same in all directions, without using body for wrestle, while smiling and dribbling the entire opposite team. Art.
Another thing was, that he did unexpected things. Not bc it was hard to see, which move he will do next, more bc he made moves noone before ever did in professional football
You can't be offside when receiving a throw-in
Under the original laws of 1863, it was not possible to be offside from a throw-in;[103] however, since the ball was required to be thrown in at right-angles to the touch-line, it would have been unusual for a player to gain significant advantage from being ahead of the ball.[104]
In 1877, the throw-in law was changed to allow the ball to be thrown in any direction.[105] The next year (1878) a new law was introduced to allow a player to be offside from a throw-in.[106]
This situation lasted until 1920, when the law was altered to prevent a player being offside from a throw-in
King Lizard that's pretty interesting man, I hadn't bothered to look into how it changed over the years. Thanks for this reply 👍
Or a goal kick.
@Pernambucano yeah
Yeah offside doesnt apply to throw ins, goalkicks or corner kicks
He was and still is my favorite soccer player of all time. I remember going back to Europe to visit my family during the summer time as a kid watching the World Cup and waiting to see him play. Nice throwback video, he’s the goat
For #2 the water bottle trick, you can't be offside directly from a goal kick, a corner or a throw-in. So he used the water bottle to make the defenders forget about him and get into an advantageous position in a rare situation.
Ref still could and should have blown the whistle for unsporting behavour.
The water bottle trick was genius, no offsides on a throw in so to produce a goal from that is mind blowing

I’ve got to say, the guy is purely out of this world. A skill that you cant train, and its amazing to even watch him be himself. Wish I was more into the sport of Fútbol when I was younger.
I remember that first free kick under the barrier, the sports news here in Spain were talking about how that defense was the tallest in Europe and how could Ronaldiño score a free kick against that defense, then he did that in the match...So epic. There's is no offside during a throw in. Drinking water was a move, so he could take advantage of the situation.
He was one of the best because he looked like he enjoyed playing. it never seemed like a job to him.
With the ‘off side’ goal it was because in footballs ‘throw-ins’ (taken from the side line when the ball goes out of play) don’t follow the off side rule. Great video and commentary!

There will be no one like him in football his a legend
orgulho de assistir os jogos dele no auge com meu vô, pra qualquer mlk que tinha sonho de ser jogador de futebol, o ronaldinho simplesmente deslizava pelo campo
The challenge is 100% real because the secret behind Ronaldinho's goal is to raise the ball well while preparing to hit the crossbar, which makes the shot accurate and powerful and the chance of hitting the crossbar is great and he could have hit the crossbar more than 4 times..
It’s funny that he calls him “Magician” since that’s his nickname in Brasil

that's what i was thinking, there are so many even more amazing plays he did, this video he watched is one of the weakest.
He was once the best in the world. He even taught Messi when they played together but he didn't take care of himself that much, he loved partying a lot (and these kind of things) so he had a short career but really, for me, top 3 players in history
He just play pure for fun just like we all when we were kids. Pure joy to watch him on the pitch.

@@ididntgetthejoke3587 Who?
So lemme just get some things calrified real quick:
1. The crossbar thing was faked; also the blindfold video. They were both promotional videos and were basically faked. On the first one, it was done by computer, on the second one, his right eye could see.
2. The offside rule does not apply when some specific cases:
-Throw-in (what happened)
-When the player who is in theoretical offside begins from his own half
-When the ball goes backwards (like in a death pass), independently on where the players are, there is no offside
There are other exceptions but that's pretty much everything you need to know
3. Ronaldinho was a phenomenal player. He got to Barcelona when the situation was not really positive and changed the club on his own. By that time, his superiority in feild was uncontested.
It got to a point where some players didn't even try to stop him, because he always had that extra skill hidden under the boots that allowed him to just destroy anyone. IMO, Ronnie is (even nowadays) the player that had the most superiority when compared to anyone else from his time.
4. His elite carreer ended up being pretty short because of drugs. The videos they've shown where he is wearing red or white t-shirts are basically after his "Europe adventure".
5. Personally, if he had maintained the level he had in Barcelona for three years during some more (8 or so) he could possibly be top 3 players of the whole history.
6. The last thig you saw (stealing the ball from the keeper) was whistled as a foul. He prevented the keeper from doing the whole movement. He then tried in another game to fake that movement in order to make the keeper stop, thinking that he would commit foul. He then waited until the moment where the keeper ended his movement to steal the ball. That second one, even though it didn't go against the rules, was also whistled as a foul. This guy was not only a magician, but tremendously intelligent on the field.
Keep it up! Nice vid bro
Wow, thank you for that thorough comment!
And also the last moments of the video you watched was that the fans of the big enemy of his former club Barcelona, the Real Madridistas are applauding him, which only happened to a couple of players in the history of football. I was waiting for those two goals he shot for Real Madrid when he got applauded...
oh sorry, someone already mentioned it..
Actually the crossbar thing is real on a certain level, he may not he able to hit successfully that many times BUT there is testimonies from his teammates that he was able to hit the crossbar more than once, so even tho the trick might have been exaggerated for the promotion, he can hit the crossbar more than one and still retain the ball, tho he probably couldnt do it more than twice or 3 times
Also his career didnt end because of drugs, more of just alcohol and him showing up drunk to practice or not showing up at all, i dont think there is any evidence of him doing or being on drugs since you would get tested playing on these major teams so just getting a couple of these "facts" correct
Best thing in him that he is always smiling and playing football cause he is enjoying, no stress..
He is a legend in the game, no can be as good as him ever.
