So yes there’s 12 available notes total. But yes octave means 8, and there are 8 notes per scale in like 75% of the scales. Some have 6, 7 and even 9. So C major or E minor or F Phrygian all have 8 notes. But 12 notes total. Notes in a key or scale are the notes that sound good together, and there are many types of scales. The difference between a key and scale is this. Scale = minor/major Key = E minor & C Major. So a key is just defined by the starting point a scale can start on any key.
First 555 is responsible for frequency the 2nd for PWM (50-100%). Of course if if you go too high frequency on the input it'll effectively lower frequency of the resulting wave. May I point you into circuitJS webpage? You can simulate (and watch the wave forms) a lot of analog (and digital) stuff there. There's also ready to use 555.
I think that second stage directly controls pulse width, which indirectly affects the duty cycle. I’ll second your recommendation of circuitJS; you can even download aversions of it to run locally. Now I’m going to have to simulate the circuit to see what happens when the first stage’s period is shorter than the second stage’s pulse width.
Watching you fumble with these circuits is kinda hard on my nerves. Jumping in off the deep end without learning basic pullup/pull down rules, debouncing. You need a 4017 and 4148 diodes to do it right. I offered to send you a ton of free stuff but im just a well meaning rando. Id elaborate being im a professional musician but my suggestions went unheeded. You dont understand schematics from what i see. No offense. We're all new sometimes. Painful
A 4017 is a decade counter and 1N4148 are general purpose diodes... What do you want him to do with them? You can send your free stuff to me... I can make use of it. :)
@@banjax66 it could be a 4011 too. I forget, it's been a while since I built one. You already seem to know some stuff. The diodes are used as part of the sequence functionality if memory serves. An apc is a sequencer.

And the second 555 makes the first 555 into a step oscillator making the pitch go up kinda note by note rather than sliding up and down at random

thanks❤
Heads up, comments are being deleted. I made one with no links or bad words. I'm guessing YT is throttling more than what's actually necessary.

Dude, just don’t watch if it pains you 😂
@@banjax66 If I was to guess you can make a matrix keyboard with such components🤔
