I can't really rank them, but my Top 3 Worst OV Redesigns would probably be Chromastone, Big Chill and Ultimate Echo Echo (again, not ranked)
Stink fly’s redesign is not that bad you’re just over reacting
I think the main reason why 16 year old Ben’s aliens have a lot of green is because that’s his colour scheme in Omniverse. Like how black and white is young 10/11 year old Ben’s, red is Albedo’s, orange is Mad Ben’s, etc..
Yeah but it has the downside of just removing a lot of the individuality of them
its petty obvious Ben's main colour scheme is green and why most of ben's aliens have a green colour scheme kinda like how ben 23's aliens have a bluish colour scheme, Mad Ben orange, Benzarro purple and albedo red

Exactly. they did that to differentiate the two time periods. young Ben's fourarms had black and white while teen Ben's fourarms had black and green ( and a moustache)

Fun fact about Big Chill there’s a Omniverse storyboard that uses his Uaf design which means they could have just kept the skinny Uaf design but have it in the Omniverse artstyle

I will defend the use of clothing on the aliens. Omniverse made a lot more usage of the aliens' planets and fellow citizens. Clothing gave the animators an easier way to distinguish different characters, compared to the UAF era where every alien looked like the Omnitrix version.
Honestly perfect examples of "If it ain't broken, don't try to fix it." Especially for Vilgax imo. His redesigns were one of the main reasons why felt like a completely new character in the subsequent series after classic.
Also throwing another complaint in here: Why did they remove Humungosaur's growing in Omniverse? That was something that helped him set apart of Four Arms, the other main bruiser alien.
I think Humungosaur lost his growth abilities in AF-UA because Way Big and Ultimate Humungosaur. They didn't bother bringing it back in OV, I think due to the Nemetrix predator. It wouldn't make sense for a predator to be absolutely dominated by its own prey.

The reason for Big Chill’s redesign is cause they wanted to make him look like Man Bat
Though Derrick did wanna redesign him back to skinny again
Also Chromastone’s redesign was an inspiration from Gundam
As much as I'm a mecha fan, I don't think it was a good idea the inspiration from Gundam.
Chromastone is a Crystal Humanoid, not a Robot, so I don't think stuff like the mounthpiece fit really well.
Though it was a poor design choice, I’m not surprised. Derrick really liked Gundam and many of his other works such as Transformers Animated have designs based off of that material.
I hate that new "inspiration" direction that the art crew took, like, almost everything including new characters, alien redesigns and new aliens in omniverse are heavily inspired in some pop culture character or series.

I don't think Vilgax's redesign is bad, I think Vilgax's character is significantly worse after the first series, but I've never really had a problem with the design (except for when they just made him a squid, that was stupid)
I agree but i prefer uaf vilgax because og vilgax has really lame powers that some up to laser eyes and being super strong

My hot take is that I prefer the outfit designs that Omniverse has for the most part. I hate how dark everything is in UAF and the brighter pallets in Omniverse come off more as just they aren't constantly acting under the cover of night

It works for some aliens but not for others. For example Jury Rigg looks amazing with clothing but ones like humungousaur it doesn’t work.
Chromastone deserves to be in this kind of video, I mean look at him he got from a slim and slick rocky alien with back crystals to over stylised rock amalgam with crystals literally on every joint. It was probably the worst redesign but at least we got to see him appear in Omniverse more than just seconds I guess.
Dude, my opinion is totally opposite, I hated chromastone's uaf design due to how lazy it actually was (It looked like a man in costume ) , while Omniverse design made him actually look like guardian of petropia.

Sometimes the green belts work for me, like how humungasaur looks like he's wearing bullets in his chest which I always thought was referring back to ultimate humungasaur. GhostFreak is also one where I like how the Omnitrix is used in the design although completely different from a belt, I like the idea of having GhostFreak chained up
Overall I can see why they started adding belts and other accessories to act as the Omnitrix since the newer Omnitrix feels like that, an accessory, something that can be put on and taken off with ease to match with how the Omnitrix is
Humungousaurs species canonically wear armor so him wearing that belt and at least some type of clothing makes sense
It is cooler if bens humungousaur has no armor or clothes tho in my opinion since it separates him from the normal species and gives him uniqueness + ur just looks cooler
I'ma get hate for this, but I actually prefer the Ultimate Aliens Designs in Omniverse. They just feel like Mutated abominations, which makes sense because they all had to exist in "The Worst Case Scenario" So they wouldn't look as clean and put together as they did in UA.
That's the exact reason why I prefer the OV Ultimates over the UA Ultimates.
My exact reason as to why I prefer the Ultimates in ov honestly.
Most of the aliens in UAF are humanoids, at least in Omniverse they look like aliens and they're different enough for the factor of creativity
OV ultimate aliens, actually looked super deadly, cool ,and forcefully mutated at the same time. I like UA ultimate aliens as well. but based on looks the OV Ultimate Humongasaur will eat the UA Ultimate Humongasaur for lunch
I agree to omniverse's ultimate aliens are fire but if they a bit rounded they would've look more better

1. I loved pretty much every redesign in Heroes United.
2. Yeah, for the young Ben with the white body, still looks trash tbh. It changes nothing with the face, teeth, or hands anyway, just less green.

You know why some aliens wear clothes right? We found out rath was basically buck naked in the looans and Appoplexian debate his species wears clothes so maybe the writers didn't want kids asking why is humongsaur naked
I feel like instead of underwear they shouldve given him trunks or something and put the omnitrix symbol back on his chest without the bandanna. It just clutters the design up.

Some who loves Ben 10 from the bottom of heart ..... Design was never a prob ....Loved omniverse as equal as others
People don't realize that the OG Ben10 fans don't have a problem with the aliens or the whole art style getting redesigned, we have the problem with the Quality & Reduction of proper details put in the designs as the Classic-UA era had. They made everything look so much more & more plain & childish. It just makes us, the fans, feel taken as granted as we see how less of efforts is being put in the animation of our favourite characters.
Going into this video, I knew the Alien Force aliens would be taking half the list. It's almost as if Omniverse TRIED to make them look bad and goofy, the swole eyes, the chins, the belts and underwear, THE GREEN. It's even worse when they got Chromastone and Swampfire right the first time.
IKR they drew them in their OG designs, just in the omniverse style then went "kids hate muted colours and slim designs" and made them 1000× worse first they made the muted colours way too saturated and then they changed them up completely. Why couldn't they keep the 2nd stage Swampfire design it was the best omniverse redesign IMO they made it the perfect combination of omniverse and UAF and that was all it needed to be. Don't even get me started how ugly and old Big Chill looks when he uses his wings and antennae as a cloak.
this is why I prefer the art style of the original it just was so clean

I actually like how Chromastone looked in Omniverse.
The face design was good in my opinion but I can see why the too many spikes. Makes him seem less crystal/rock.
In my opinion, I didn't like chormastone from AF. For me, it is like seeing something that looks ugly that it isn't intended to look that ugly in ovniverse. I really like the change, but maybe that's just me
I think the reason why that they make the big chills chest bigger because its name was BIG CHILL
I feel like Big Chill looking like he has a hairy chest makes him look more like a moth than his UA design, but I can totally see why people don't like the OV design. But the hunched design looks much better when he has his cloak on.
To be honest, the only redesigns I actually dislike are Big Chill's and Goop's. The others are about the same for me, except for Jury Rigg and Shocksquach, which to me felt like improvements.
I think you nailed it. Chromastone and Big Chill were probably the biggest offenders for me since their original designs really left an impression on me back when I first saw them. Humungosaur was also a disappointment but those 2 really hurt me.
I actually think the green add-ons on all the aliens makes it feel like Ben. Like how in og Ben, most of the aliens had the black and white color scheme.
Awesome video dude and Happy New Year 2. Tbh i dont mind OV Vilgax its decent looking at best and at least Steve Blum re voiced him just like in the OS so it kinda feels like Vilgax Big Chill looking somewhat portly and hunched bag is a bit off but most of Ben's other aliens looked alright in OV like diamondhead, eye guy and wildvine.

Most people do, but the armor design is just so off. Mostly the face area.
I realize this may be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely LOVE Blossomed Swampfire’s design.
At least it has an actual reason for the redesign

The design itself isnt really bad but the colors are way too vibrant and dont look at all like Swampfire. 5yl did it better imo.
It would look like fine if it was another alien imo but it doesnt look like Swamp Fire at all.
If I had to choose I would say swampfire's 1st blossomed stage looks the coolest as to me it's pretty much his AF/UA but only in the OV art style and with a few minor differences like being a bit more muscular and the placement of the omnitrix. If only this was his overall appearance for OV without having to change it.
I think Big Chill has that huge chest to have more space to cool the air he breathes. That's what I always thought that was why. He is a big chilling ice box.
I think a lot of the reasons why you don’t like some of these designs comes down to art style, not necessarily the character’s design. Like with the passing mention of OG Swampfire, because that’s not even a redesign.
Okay, for Swampfire I didn’t really like his original Omniverse look because it seemed like a cheap knock off from the original look in UAF, but come on! I really like his new look. With the unique shades of green and yellow and the Dracula like cape on the back of his head. I like that look. Now Chromastone I have mixed feelings about. I loved his UAF look, and his original Omniverse look wasn’t too different so it didn’t really bother me I suppose. But as for his new look, I can’t tell whether I like it or not. I like the bulkier design because it makes him look stronger, but all the added stuff like all the extra crystals and the mouth cover, it just seems like a bunch of unnecessary junk. I don’t know
they actually removed two crystals from Chromastone's chest, but everyone just focuses on them adding extra ones
Diamond head had the best look in omniverse. Probably heatblast as well
Heatblast looks sweet in OV with cool shadows and glowing flames.
That one transformation against Khyber is still my favorite transformation in OV.
I like the aliens having those green belts, I always saw that as a uniform for the aliens, but I can say that it wasn’t necessary for their designs
I'm glad we got all the Omniverse redesigns the way they are😊😊 I don't know about y'all but they still get my respect for such unique and creative attempts.
I think the fact omniverses’ aliens being bulkier is actually pretty fitting,as ben had matured and therefore the species would as well,
*HOWEVER* I believe the whole massive-chin-gigachad-hunk style really just makes it feel abnormal and excessively cartoonish,
Vilgax being nerfed was a horrible idea and chromastone and big chill should be *way* thinner,
+its ok if you want to add green to the design,just do it in moderation so that its just an addition to the design rather than something that ruins it.
I guess I'm in the minority here but I thought Chromastone was fine? The original already just a starved cyclopic Diamondhead and this one still felt slender enough but the spikes kinda looked cool imo and set him apart. Vilgax as well I think adding the spots back was nice as the original had them even if they were differently colored. Not as good as OG Vilgax but he does beat the hell out of UAF's.
TBH the only one I really agreed with here is Thicc Chill; def no reason to have made him buff. Upgrade deserves an actual spot on the list because the omnitrix face looks stupid and impractical.
Also not quite fond of Max's closed eyes not fond of Gwen's look post first episode.
Comments also reminded me but Ghost Freak and Z'skare are a bit too goofy and Echo Echo looks off (ironically Ditto actually looks a lot better imo.)
I'm personally in the opposite camp for a few of these: I like the Vilgax redesign and I LOVE the Chromastone redesign.
For Vilgax, I love the armor and I like just how much bigger and more imposing he is, and while it's not nearly as good as the OS one, the OV Vilgax certainly gets points for looking more like the warlord he is. The only thing I don't care for is the arm swirlies.
For Chromastone, I really like the knight-like angle his visor gives him and the spikes give him a visage of a creature that you don't wanna mess with. The outfit I'm so-so about, I like the bracelets but everything else could go. I like that Chromastone becomes even more of an agile parallel to Diamondhead, now having crystal weapons of his own that Diamondhead doesn't have.

Ghostfreak is definitely up there for me
Everytime I look at his redesign, it just takes me back to the golden OG days, with that phenomenal "Ghostfreaked Out" episode 🙃
Such a great character, that was reduced to very little by the end of the Ben 10 era (in my opinion) 😥

Omniverse may not have the best designs but it has some even better than alien force and the classic, I had a problem with some aliens from alien force and they were very simple in the sense that they just took the race of the alien and put it the symbol of the omnitrix anywhere
This is my top 10 of the best omniverse designs above alien force and the classic one:
(by the way ultimate alien is for me like alien force 2 so I say alien force to be clear and this is my opinion)
1- Wildmutt, they are the same design as alien force and the classic one but something that changes is the omnitrix and I liked the detail that in omniverse is like a dog collar
2- NRG, in alien force his true form is just pure energy and he doesn't even bring the omnitrix while in omniverse it's the opposite, in addition to the fact that the armor is better detailed
3- Heatblast, I just hope you understand that I like that tone of the rock on his body more than in the original, for the rest it looks like the one from alien force but it has a small difference and it is the face that preserves the lines in the eyes as in the original and I like the part that is in the mouth
4- Ripjaws, as for alien force we return to the same theme of how simple the design is and I like it more than the original also because personally I like that it has more details, the position of the omnitrix, more muscles and the gray in the I like it more than white and if it's not gray I like that it's not such a strong white
5- Wildvine, all 3 are the same and especially the classic one with the one from alien force because both are equally simple but the one from omniverse adds a belt and putting the omnitrix there making it look better to me
6- Blitzwolfer, in the one from alien force and omniverse, he has the omnitrix on his chest, which I like because I feel that he represents the alien with the supposed legend of putting a coin on his chest, while in the classic one it is on his waist, but What makes me like the omniverse one more is that green suit and that they have put fur on it, making it no longer look like a bald wolf
7- Jury rigg, when I saw that thing in alien force I remember having nightmares, I'm glad they put clothes on it and somehow it's not unpleasant
8- ghostfreak, we return to the same theme of the simple designs of the classic and alien force, I like that in omniverse it has a padlock because it seems to me like a symbolism that its true form is trapped in that alien layer
9- snare-oh, I like that it has more clothing details and that the omnitrix is on the waist because I really didn't feel that it would fit well on the shoulder
10- water hazard, I don't think I need to explain this, but I'll say it anyway, it has a lot more details than the alien force one and that's it, that's all,

Good list, one of reasons why I love NRG and Water Hazard is because of their accents.
NRG has a Russian accent which is amazing and I love the robotic type sound Water Hazard makes while talking in OV.
Honestly I prefer any vilgax design to alien force. Even the reboot is better

Vilgax definitely got the absolute worst redisign(s), and Big Chill looks cool(pun intended)!
The only change stink fly might have needed was less bright green and more darker green and adding the eyes. Since many times in og, the watch is being used to represent the eyes while in omniverse the design makes it easier to show that the tubes are eyes.
My personal opinions on these redesigns:
Humongusaur: I don't really see much difference besides the clothing and I don't have problems with it
Big Chill: I don't really mind about any of the changes
Vilgax: I actually agree that the original was the best one, but I find the UAF design the most boring
Stinkfly: I personally would've only changed the eyes to look more like the original Ben 10k stinkfly, but I don't mind the green clothing (or belly or whatever it is)
Chromastone: I understand why people don't like this redesign, but I personally enjoy it, with a few changes maybe those people who don't like it could've enjoyed it too

I think your being a little, literally just a little, harsh on the upgrade design. He looks like a proper galvanic mechamorph plus that was his design in heroes united
I hate every single omniverse design and it's artstyle,they look like they were drawn without any precision and roughly, they don't have any symmetry like alien force

i Love Bigchill in UAF, he was soo cool and i agree with you the Most.
Psyphon, Charmcaster, Shocksquatch and some aliens redesigns are absolutely stunning I think. (And I like Vilgax's as well.)
But Chromastone looks absolutely horrible in "A New Dawn". It would be awesome if they kept that design from "Trouble Helix" (which is literally the same as UAF design).
And the same goes for Swampfire. He was good in "Have I Got a Deal for You" and "Return to Forever".

I HATE the UAF Vilgax design with a PASSION. He just looks like a BOOTLEG Thanos/Darseid kinda character. At least in Omniverse they bring back some classic elements but Vilgax lost his original Villainous luster after Classic and they never gave it back to him😔

Vilgax was actually designed with the respirator in mind for Omniverse, but the executives said no because his mouth being visible made him more expressive.
Vilgax sharing Star screams VA makes sense to why he took so many L's
Okay I have to say I liked most of these when I saw them! Humongousaur looks fine though the pants are weird, Vilgax just needed to do the segmented arm tentacles and not the brain design and it'd be perfect, I prefer beefy Big Chill cloaked and don't hate it flying around since it makes me think of how Moths look to me, Stinkfly just needs black hands and the old teeth and it's fine, Upgrade looks like Other Galvanic Mechamorphs and it matches the black and green Color Scheme so it's a fine design, Bloomed Swampfire is just cool to me though I feel like it shouldn't be Swampfire and just be a different alien, and finally Chromastone is cool! It works perfectly well but should drop the knee spikes and the bands with the Omnitrix being in the center. I like the covered mouth though and it makes me think of a Ninja. All of these just need minor changes to be perfect I think
#5 Humungousaur.. I never really noticed him changing too much, mostly noticed the belt around him but just thought they wanted to bring back having Ben's aliens wearing stuff like the OG.. also the jaw I never noticed since toys I had of him already had jaw be larger since.. it had to move and whatnot lol
#4 Vilgax.. yup heavy agree.. he became.. Davey Jones? Like he legit is a squid pirate when that was not his character at all.. UAF at least imo explained why he changed with his home planet being seen once.. so I just assumed he went home and was a decent leader and healed up or whatever
#3 Big Chill.. yeah him losing the slender look when.. Ben already had beefy aliens (ie Humungousaur) to use was odd.. since Big Chill is not a brawler, he is the quick sneaky type..
#2 Stinkfly.. meh I am fine with it, since the artstyle changed it fits better than if they just replicated OG.. and yeah he green but I always assumed that was just.. because Ben wore more green lol
#1 Chromastone.. this one is odd since I thought in UAF they said that Chromastone was mostly randomly just.. Petrosapien jesus and not a full species and thus.. Ben shouldn't have him at his disposal.. and now onto the design, yes he has clothes but as previously stated I think it was because wanted to call back to OG where most of the aliens had clothes.. and that is pretty much my only issue personally, the spikes are fine to me and the physique change I chock up to artstyle instead of purposely altering him
Upgrade redesign was fine exept the omnitrix on his eye, ben doesnt wear a white shirt anymore, so it make sense upgrade's color change
omniverse humungosoar isn't that bad except for the underwear

I thought you were going to examine and dissect the designs in detail but you're just throwing tantrums over drawing style and your nostalgic feelings not being satisfied. Like... I have to make a disagreement to this opinion of 5 aliens. I like the Omniverse redesigns.
The only one I agreed with on this list was Humungasaur. I actually like the other redesigns
I don't get why they changed chromastone later like swampfire at least had an explanation(btw i do enjoy bloomed swampfire but yeah OG still better)
Blossom Swampfire looks like a jacked up Rey Mysterio
frankly i think overall echo echo got butchered the worst, atleast way more than humungousaur.
Turned from a humanoid hazard suit containing living sound that was minimalistic, but sleek and focused, into a a bug eyed pot belly frog looking creature with an objectively worse omnitrix placement.
A really bad habit and aspect of the "omniverse syndrome" that you mentioned is Derrick J Wyatt (Omniverse's art director) has a really annoying and frustrating habit of forcing changes where they aren't needed to make aliens have more distinct shapes, the most common and over used of these tropes being the under/overbite (most detrimentally seen with chromastone)
Also he 'addressed' the issue of some of UA's alien designs being too super hero-y by redesigning aliens like shocksquatch to be more super hero like and introducing stuff like molestache, atomix, whampire, who are very super hero-esq.
But of all of these the designs are more than reasonable, even some are objectively improvements like Eatle who became more biological.
The problem is derrick really didnt seem to understand where and when to make these changes, why would a containment suit have stunted roger the alien legs, and an uneven shape. Echo echo isnt the suit, its like goop in a sense, its the sound inside controlling the suit.
Echo Echo especially when it was introduced was one of my favorite designs in ben 10, ultimate echo echo was even more awesome, producing a sleek design that felt just as minimal but more powerful and again followed the idea of what echo echo/sonorosians are. Living sounds inside a suit, the only way for the "sound" to evolve, is to create a suit that can better amplify sound, so it took on a more robotic apperance with the technology to amplify its own sound. We already know that derrick got his grubby mits on it and added all these unneccesary bulges and wires to an alien that has a design that exudes less is more.
Personally I think echo echo was the worst alien redesign in omniverse, and shows how little derrick respected or understood the UAF designs, and either redid them completely or basically obliterated their designs and barely utilized them.
Though i think another bad change was changing alien X and celestialsapien designs overall. They made my omnipotent man look like stan smith from american dad.

UA Big Chill is my favorite of Ben's aliens. They did him so wrong in Omniverse
I feel like chromastone could work if he didn't have so much green mostly because the green stands out too much with the purple and they slimmed him down However I think the mouth part looks sick so I wouldn't mind then keeping that
Honestly, Big Chill was my least favorite redesign. Possibly because he was my favorite UAF alien, so it was more noticeable to me.
That said, I feel like a few of these redesigns, particularly Swampfire and Chromastone, are still decent designs in a vacuum, just weird choices for returning characters.
The upgrade redesign is not that bad you’re overreacting.

I can understand where you’re getting at with the other Aliens, but I have to disagree with u on Humungousaur’s Omniverse design. A lot of the aliens in UAF are naked for some reason, so it was nice of DJW to give them Clothes. (yknow, Jury Rigg)
His OV design has this Wrestler motif, so that explains the green strap and underwear
People are sometimes forgetting that aliens can evolve, like monkeys becoming humans, some of them aren't made for fighting/combat.
In your Honorable mentions I'm ok with Upgrades color scheme the only problem I had with him is the Omnitrix placement.
Blossomed Swampfire makes sense since he is a plant/flower plus its kinda cool that we get to see the life stages of Ben's aliens. The only gripe I had with him is his feet. I prefer the black rock feet rather than straight on plant feet.
Since the omnitrix is on his face in OV upgrade can't emotion with his eye no more and he can't fire the laser eyebeam he did in the OS and as for swampfire's blossoming its the 1st stage i like the most as to me it looked like the AF/UA version but only in the OV art style and with a few minor changes like the omnitrix being in a different place and being a bit more muscular.

Your opinion on Humungosaur confuses me, because UAF Humungosaur does have an underbight, I don't see anything "curvy" and I don't even mind the "obligatory green belt" (not sure whats obligatory about it, theres no reason anyone was obliged to put that there, it was a choice), and the only thing I can agree with is the underewear looks odd on humungosaur, and is probably the only part of the design I'd say makes him look less intimidating.
If it weren't for that he'd just look like Humungosaur to me
Maybe his head looks abit large compared to UAF which makes him seem smaller. Maybe he actually is smaller. Either way, I can't say I dislike the design as much as you seem to
However, hard agree when it comes to Vilgax. The oversimplification of his design made him seem less Alien-like, and less threatening. They sorta made him very much a normal looking guy in UAF. I think I might even prefer Omniverse over UAF slightly, but classic Vilgax will always be the ideal to me
Now Big Chill... I actually really like how they leaned into the moth aspect of Big Chill. I think it's really cool, and it makes Big Chill look more threatening, and more alien in some ways. There is a place in my heart for both designs. I don't prefer one over the other but I can say Omniverse Big Chill is cool.
As for Stinkfly, I could take it or leave it. No strong opinion. It's Stinkfly. I like the shade of green in OG better I guess? I think he looks fine otherwise.
I actually really like Omniverse Swampfire as a concept. A mature version of his species, it's cool. I like the design but one problem I have is he's supposed to be from a swamp planet. The new form became too saturated in its greenness to make me feel like he's froma swamp planet and more like he's from a tropical forest planet. Apart from that nitpick I like it alot.
I don't like Chromastone either in Omniverse, but I couldn't tell you why. Yes, the spikes are in weird places and thin? They're thinner and thats part of what makes it look awkward to me. He kinda looks more like a robot than anything else? I dont' know. I just don't like the design. Something just looks awkward about him. Even if I don't compare it to UAF, like if he debuted in Omniverse, I think I'd still hate the design.

say what you want to about Humungousaur and Big Chill's redesign but I'm glad they got rid of the repeatitive "chestplate" they both had (along with Spidermonkey) in OV
Humungousaur has those still but it makes sense as it gives him the reptile look but Big Chill doesn't have that repetitive chestplate and instead has a moth like chest, Spidermonkey's chest is changed too and we have those belt overlappings to distinguish the chest too
