I think he did a fine job reviewing that pedal boat. He hit all the fine points. There isn't a lot to say really. I own a PELICAN MONACO DLX. It is a little larger, max weight is 775 lbs for mine. They are very, very stable. I take mine fishing in the main channel of ALLATOONA LAKE at times. Sometimes I will follow in the wake of a large houseboat, that's pure fun! If you take the lake waves at the correct angles you would be surprised just how stable it is. It handles like most tri-hull style small boats. It is, however, classed as a Pontoon pedal boat. I carry a list of items with me and still have lbs to spare. A YETI 20 cooler in the rear middle area. Fishing rods and tackle box/backpack. Two 10 lbs mushroom anchors w/lines. All that is in the back middle and back foot wells. On the back rear seats I keep two throwable life cushions. Up front is me (driver) and my husband. We wear YAK style life jackets (great for sitting and standing). GoPro goes on the front mount above the rudder's steering handle. Between the seats is a cup holder for 4 drinks or 2 large Gatorades. It's deep enough to hold an extra lure if need be (without the drinks there). All in all it is a fine boat for day outings, fishing, and best of all -- it doesn't break the 🐷bank. Almost forgot, I do take Port, Starboard, and Stern lights -- all lights run on D cell batteries. I do have a trolling motor but have never mounted it yet. Will mount it next Spring maybe, just haven't needed it so far but picked it up at a good price tag so couldn't pass it up. Bottom line: these little pedal boats are so underrated in general. They are fun and proven to be a great little micro boat (workhorse). ❤❤❤ it !! Hope this info helps anyone who is considering one. They really are great and I would not shy away from taking it anywhere others would take a YAK or a Jon boat. It really is MUCH MORE than an "Around-The-Shoreline-Pond-Boat".
Bass pro has them with stainless steel upgrade for crank and sections of paddle wheel. $519.90. I will be using mine in both fresh and saltwater. Picking one up today.
We have the new sun-dalphin 5 2018 model and took it to the Colorado river in Blythe ca and loved it we threw it up on the roof rack of my wife’s ford freestyle awd similar to the new explorer took it to the river and had fun it’s very stable. I plan on adding a electric assist motor that’s on amazon for $157
How stable is it? I'm thinking about getting one for moving around the marina or working on the side of the boat. I'm a 6' tall and kinda wide guy too, will I be able to fit in one of those seats?
I respect this video for what it is but it is not a review as the title describes. I guess we should all walk thru Sam's Club and "review" all the items in there we did not use but give them a review.
+Scratcher Heaven It's been years since I've used one of these but I wanna know if this would fit in the bed of a normal sized pickup??... I kinda want one of these but it would be cool to just throw it on there with some straps and head to the lake
What is that in the rear of the peddle boat looks like a floating device, you never mentioned a floating devise is this together with the paddle boot ?
Bought mine at Sports Academy. They carry both SunDolphin and PELICAN brands. Cabela's / Bass Pro Shop also carry them. Call ahead though, with covid 19 shipments are very hard to carry in store. Online ordering with at store pick up is pretty common now days.
Both SunDolphin and PELICAN make several sizes and models. Weight max capacity can differ too. On the front or rear is a metal plate with the model's date and manufacturer's info. Check there first then price compare. Also, with Covid 19 the imports from Canada to the USA have been delayed until recently due to the North American Trade Agreement. To date they have started shipping again for the PELICAN.
If you don't put a trolling motor on it. If you put a trolling motor or gas motor on it then you must register it with the state and display the numbers on each side of the boat unless it is used in a privately owned pond. About anything propelled by electrical power or gasoline powered needs a license and registration.
They are only rated for a 6 - 8 hp gas motor. You could put more hp on it but your warranty would be avoidable. Your personal insurance company would mostly NOT pay if you or anyone else were to get hurt (or worse) not worth the seious risk to push the 6-8 hp limits, IMHO.
who cares bout the dementions ? as long as u have a pick up truck u dont need to know size . no demonstration of the top adjusting or removing no bottom view or coment on maint. no warenty information etc etc .hope no one paid him for that review
Everyone talking crap about the review. He showed us specs and what it has, good enough review for me.
Many thanks!

How did you end up attaching the trolling motor?
The weight capacity and stability on these things are beyond me
🚣♂️ 🚣♂️ 🚣♂️

Aglaefashion Malinche :) enjoy! looks like great fun!

What is that in the rear of the peddle boat looks like a floating device, you never mentioned a floating devise is this together with the paddle boot ?
I think that was a separate box for a float tube for fishing
Where the hell do the 5th person sit? ontop of the tower?
Haha
They are sunbathing on the sun canopy 😁😋.
Great video thanks..What store is this ?
no problem, this was reviewed in a Sportsman's Warehouse... like a Bass Pro Shop
Ce pret are aceasta barca vreau so cumpar.
Where can I buy one like that more or less in the same price?

The amazon price shows 2 grand. Why the differences?
Probably a Supply and demand issue.... prices spike in summer and with resellers gouging. Ask local sports or kayak shops to order it for you

Do you need a boating license to operate one of these? I’d only use it on lakes
Nah!

Nesesito ver la leta que va a tras para la sireccion de la visileta para las curbas
i could take the pedals off and put a Evinrude E-tec 30 hp motor then i would go much faster
and you could put a bigger 90 hp E-tec Then you would be crazy fast
You would sink it with even a 30hp lol

Just UA-cam 😬
Stop being lazy and go to the website instead of bitching
this isn't a REVIEW ~ it's some guy who walked into a sports store and filmed a peddle boat he obviously knows very little about.
c'est la vie!
