- The plaintiff says the defendants' daughter was enrolled in the preschool she runs. However, the defendants stopped making payments, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendants don't believe they owe the plaintiff any money.

The judge was completely wrong. That plaintiff is crazy!!! If I couldn't get the code to my child-i wouldn't pay either. Can you imagine if there was some sort of accident and you couldn't get in to get your child?! I'm sure in the contract it said somewhere that they would get the code. Wow! A child has a meltdown, the mother puts her in time out(instead of driving away with a screaming, volatile child), and the husband comes out to tell the Defendant, "this can't happen here"?!? How do they act when a child has a tantrum behind closed doors😮? And not giving the code while the child IS STILL THERE?!? The Plaintiff said she was afraid of vandalism.

Professionals understand where do draw the line with their clients. The day care providers lack of boundaries is the big issue here. Payment or not, she lost.
If you express an issue with me, I am NOT leaving my kids with you. IDC. When my daughter was in daycare I treated them very well, and always paid on time because people are funny and they take their issues out on your kids.

The plaintiff behaved like her customers were her friends. It sounds like she didn't maintain a professional distance. It's possible to be a caring, empathetic, and compassionate caregiver without being in a relationship with the clients. Professional boundaries are important. Genuine question-if the plaintiff refused to give the door code doesn’t that mean she broke the contract because how else is the mom/defendant going to drop off and pick up the child-doesn’t that mean she kicked them out essentially? So why does she deserve the rest of the payment when she’s culpable for breaching the contract?
The plaintiff has a bad attitude, I would not use her. Certainly, picking up the other childs belongings was not a reason to do all this. Plaintiff is a nasty person!
I love this show. It just goes to show how finicky judges can be and how the law only really applies how they want it to. Was the daycare provider rude, absolutely. Did the parents sign a contract saying they would pay and what the late fee structure was, absolutely. Throwing it out because you deem it excessive is stupid. She awards pre judgement statutory interest left and right. Different amounts, same principle. You didn’t pay when you should have so here’s a penalty.
I hope this daycare gas been closed. She cannot model that behavior in front of kids. Terrible business move.
