People leave valuable items in the car and walk away? They don't lock the doors? 🤦♀️ I must be too city savy cause that sounds crazy to me.
Hi Lynn, I can only imagine how angry, scared, violated you and your family feels right now. Please, please have your locks changed in your house. I thank you for sharing your story with us, I live in a gated community as well in West Palm Beach FL and I sometimes take it for granted that we are safe here, but I know I can't take things for granted. Unfortunately because we live in a world where so many people don't have or know the love of God and as such are prone to the promoting of the devil. God will bless you my friend for your kind heart, I know it's hard now, I can't even begin to imagine but God is stronger than any obstacle we can face. Also don't minimize your hardship, everyone is going through something and deserves compassion and understanding. Prayers for you and your family.
I can't imagine anyone leaving their purse, keys and checkbook in their vehicle. It's a hard lesson to learn but atleast you got it back
Thank you, Lynn, for being an inspiration to this 67-year-old woman. I have collected (hoarded) things since I left home at 18. Fifteen years ago, I moved three states away to live with my only child and her family, at her request. For the first 5 years, I did fairly well in keeping my room clean, then things rapidly deteriorated when I got hurt on the job, lost my job, retired early and did not fully recover from my back surgery. My health has slowly gone down to where I walk with a cane and sometimes a walker and I can't hold out to do much physical work due to my many chronic medical conditions. Then the flood came, and we lost everything thing and stayed in the shelter for three months until the house was made livable again. Four feet of water is very destructive. We went into debt trying to replace everything and I refused to throw out anything that I brought into my bedroom. As you can imagine, it began looking like a hoarder's house very quickly. My daughter has tried to help me go through things over the years, but it didn't help. I only had a path from my bed to the door and a small area on my bed that I could fit into because of the amount of stuff I had. I was scrolling through UA-cam three days ago and came across a video of yours. I don't know why I watched it, but I am so glad that I did. Starting this morning, I have started cleaning my room. I've washed a load of clothes that are drying now, and I know when I can reach the rest of the room, they'll be a lot more. I washed all the dishes that have accumulated in my room. I paid someone to remove the heater from my room and place it in the garage. I actually have a bigger path to walk, and my bed is a little less cluttered. I have given out of steam and am hurting pretty bad, so I had to stop. I won't do anymore today as I'm still kind of overwhelmed as I still have a lot to do. It will take me weeks to finish but I am determined to do this. Thank you again. I am so sorry about your car; I saw the picture. Hope things work out. Hi Lynn. I'm so sorry to hear about the theft. Sometimes, homeowners insurance will cover things stolen from your vehicles while they're parked at your home. It depends on your policy, but it's something to look into. Best of luck!
Oh my goodness that’s a nightmare. It would be wonderful if they could find who took it and hold them accountable and make them pay for all repairs. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. When we built the house we live in now I told my husband I 100% want a garage to park my car in, not a storage room. So we built a large garage and park in it every night and it gives me the peace I need. I pray you get the peace you need and everything works out to your benefit❤

I know how you feel. The violation never goes away. About 43 years ago, I was 20 and still living with my parents when an intruder broke into our home. He awoke me by climbing on top of me in my bed. Thank God i awoke and it startled him. He escaped before I could get my parents awoke. Back then we didn’t have air conditioning and I was sleeping with an open window. Since then, I ALWAYS pay attention to my surroundings and cannot leave anything unlocked. The fear never leaves!! I will be praying for your healing.

Sorry about your car, Lynn. I’m 75 yrs young and I had the worst week when this weather went crazy cold. I spent the first night in darkness due to a power outage. The next day I spent at a friends house because they had power. After two days without electricity, the power finally came back on. Only to find out I didn’t have any heat. Spent another day in the house without heat overnight but had a neighbor call a heating guy he knew who came right out. Come to find out had a blown fuse and the thermostat had to be replaced, due to the power outage. A day after that happened we had a water main break through the night. I woke up at 6:45 am and flushed the toilet to gurgling sounds. I saw a car outside with flashing lights on it and it was the water department. Happy to say everything is back to normal! I Taught my child from 3 up if your done don’t want it any more then we can give it to salvation Army where other children can find it where they never could afford it ELSEWHERE.❤ I give them a bag a they put it in the bag and I even have a box by the door AND THOUGH the months they can put it in there as well as me.SO MUCH COMES IN THE HOME FROM SO MANY HOLIDAYS.
We lock as we come in and as we go out…we always lock our home and cars and are very watchful. Criminal minds are always watching for us to slip up…. Oh yeah, I also lock my remote after I lock my car whenever I get out AND when I go into my house, it emits a long distance where criminals can capture the info on their computer and then take my car. Yep, it happened to my neighbor down the street from us.🤦🏻♀️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. I also do not have any identifying paperwork in my car either! The car paperwork, etc. I have had 3 friends who lost their cars in hijacking’s at gas stations🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I'm so sorry about your car!!! My house got broken into a few years ago, as you said I felt violated and to think people will actually steal what you've worked so hard for!! I admire y9u to keep pushing on. I hope your car isn't totaled!!! Sending prayers and love your way!!!
I am older and in the 90's there was a TLC show called clean sweep. This show helped me immensely. To this day I try to stay relatively clutter free. What this means to me now more than 30 years later. I try to buy only what I need, something comes in something goes out. Do I get stuck and forget sometimes? yes. But living in a clutter free home really is freeing and less stressful it's much easier to clean an uncluttered home. I love watching cleaning and organizing. Great job. So sorry about all you are going through right now. There were seasons of my life like this hard life lessons. This to shall pass and things will get better.

Hey Lynn my heart breaks for you with the loss of your car but the worst is they got all of your personal information but I guess we must look at the positive side nobody was hurt and we all learn valuable lessons from our mistakes. But it truly SUCKS 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Oh Lynn, pease change all house locks, also, I’d you had keys on key fobs to another car…change those locks also!! Report your identity stolen to the 3 credit companies, put on a fraud alert, identity stolen also! My neighbor and I both have had this happen….every year, check your info to make sure it’s not getting changed on you with those companies…. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

Life. But my in-laws had their car stolen and the had to eat a lot of money cause like you the thieves was never found neither was their vehicle so they had to pay it off cause the bank still wants their money even though they didn’t have their vehicle. It was awful. They took everything that was inside it. So I’m truly sorry cause I know what your going through. I truly hope your prayers are answered and you and your family are in my prayers.

Hi, my daughter just had most of their tools stolen from their shed. They broke into her locked car & rummaged through it. Luckily there were no keys around. All this whilst one son was asleep. One was in the shower & my daughter was checking her animals on the other side of the shed. My grandson saw them & went to get his mum. I'm glad he didn't confront them as they were armed with knives. My heart goes out to you.
I found that giving kids a space boundary for keeping things helps. For instance, if you have a bookcase you only keep the amount of books that can fit. It is completely up to them what is kept.
I am so sorry that this has happened to you and your car. I've had one of my cars ransacked a few times. It alters your sense of safety and security. I can only imagine what it feel s like to have it stolen. am so sorry. Our current car is the only one that I've had gap insurance on. So I feel you as I've had an accident in a previous car that totaled it and I owed on that car after it was totaled. thinking of you and your family and hoping it is fixable. sending hugs.

I just have to tell you that I think it is so wonderful to see how you interact with the kids while you're working so hard at cleaning their room. In so many videos I just see kids ignored because the adult is so focused at what they are doing. You held them, talked with them, paid attention to their faces when you were getting rid of things and they weren't sure they wanted to lose them. It's just beautiful how you give them so much attention.

I live in an area that is pretty affluent. A friend of mine had her purse stolen as she was loading groceries into her car in the nearby Costco parking lot. She was distracted by someone asking for directions and another took her purse. Luckily she was not hurt but it was quite an ordeal. Lynn please stay safe. What you were doing out there was scary but thank goodness your ok. If you haven’t already, change all your locks and if you can also car locks. I hope you can get a home security system with cameras if you don’t already have one. It might not prevent anything but might help deter crime.
That white dresser needs painting. WHY would you leave your personal information in your car??? You ought to know NOT to leave keys, wallet, Credit cards or anything in your car. Now you better get new locks for your front/back doors. If it was a bunch of teenagers and they have your keys, they're going to be watching your house and as soon as you leave it's going to happen inside your house. Sorry this happened to you.

My husband just retired so we are delayed in our annual declutter…the feeling is great to have our home feel “lighter”. I am so sorry about your car! We had vandalism in our neighborhood over the holidays, though we were not personally effected, the feeling of violation is real.

I'm so, so sorry about your car! And purse. I've never had either stolen, but a couple of times I THOUGHT I'd lost my purse, and the feelings of panic and loss of privacy were very scary. Do they think the teenagers could have come from within your gated community? Yes, definitely get your locks changed immediately. And I hope your car isn't totaled!

So incredibly sorry about your car. I really hope February is much better for you. This declutter was really great!! So glad you explained to be slow and gentle when dealing with going thru and getting rid of things, especially other peoples items. That will help them feel part of the process and also hopefully keep the space tidy. I hope to see the part 2 of this when you are able, due to the set backs you had this month.
I’ve known this for a long time not to leave purses and keys and computers AirPods anything of importance anything that’s Worth any kind of money in the vehicle and never leave your keys in the car I’ve had that mentality for a long time doesn’t matter where I am there’s thieves everywhere😢

Lynn, I will say a prayer for you and your family. That story was gut-wrenching and I can only imagine your pain and sorrow. But we know our God and He does not waste anything we go through. He says He takes the good and bad and makes it work for our good, so stay encouraged even though it does not feel good at the moment. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I just wanted to say you handled the situation a lot better I probably would have. It is a pain when you have to deal with credit card companies, banks, drivers licenses,and what else was taken from you. This too shall pass and it will make you more aware of your surroundings . Life is crazy and we just never know what is around the corner. Every time I feel like I’m getting on top of things financially as s with other things, something happens to make it all fall apart. It is so stressful and upsetting but it also forces us to find gratitude in the smaller things. I know you are always good at that Lynn but try and focus even more on what is good in your life while you plough through all of this hardship. I got my pantry all cleaned and organized today and I've been wanting to do that for a couple of weeks now. Afterwards I said to myself "you did it girl and it looks beautiful" lol. This video has inspired me to tackle the biggest mess in my whole house that I have been putting off. I like how you said you can't value you things if you have too many things. That's true 41:51

Hi Lynn sorry about your car we got our Honda broken into after that we got rid of it it was too violating knowing somebody been through your things seeing it was a constant reminder I’m glad it’s gone.
Your sister in law and her girls did great decluttering all their stuff boy that was a lot.

Check with your neighbors to see if they have security cameras that may have caught the thieves. Probably neighborhood kids or their friends. They'll be responsible for any damage. It is such a violation of your security. Not to mention the problem of replacing everything in your billfold and your husband's wallet. I hope all you need to pay is the deductible for your insurance. I would've cried my eyes out, too. So sorry about your computer. When it rains, it pours. It seems you can't catch a break. I'm so sorry about your car (one of my worst fears because I have a brand new 2023 Palisade and I bought it in cash)! I'd be without a car if something happened. It's horrible that there are people out there that will violate you this way with zero remorse (and rarely any consequences to them). I really hope they do find who did this to your family.
