The best thing about this story is now Gordon knows how Shelia felt every time he left her for Penny. Gordon has to be the stupidest man, character we have ever heard about in a story. Listening to Penny's character and how she's acting, she never cared about him. She never loved him. As Shelia said, Penny needed Gordon all those times he was with Shelia. She even manipulated him into ruining his marriage and convinced him to divorce Shelia for her. Now that he's in a coma and a vegetable she doesn't give a darn about him? That's who he was willing to throw his marriage and life away for? How stupid can he be? How can he not see he was just a second choice. A backup plan when Penny's rich ex didn't want her. Throwing everything away for someone who played him like a toy. Stupid. For Penny not to take responsibility for this when all this is her fault? That's even worse. Makes you question the men in these stories and why the female leads fall for and marry them in the first place.
Tbh I'm a bit confused and surprised by this whole first love obsession stories... I've a fairly large friend circle and the only folks I know who fondly remember their first love are those whose first love broke up or left due circumstances outside of their control like family moving off or family objections due to religion etc... If partner left or broke up cos of fight or for someone else, it's more anger or disgust etc... my husbs first love left him for another guy and before we got together n we were friends, I did ask him seriously if he regrets losing her and if he'd ever want to get back together with her (she was an absolute beauty, so I had my insecurities) - his response was, someone who left me n disrespected me, am I dumb to get back with her, I'd definitely love to see her crying broken hearted if tat other guy leaves her for another girl so she knows what pain she put me through... And tats a common emotion, why would anyone smart wanna get back with someone who left them for another option... So it's kinda ridiculous n inconceivable tat a supposedly smart biz guy is doing this kinda nonsense for a lady who left him once.. The story would be more understandable if their breakup was cos of his side of issues or if he owes Ex in some serious ways...
I'm a little disappointed that she didn't tell him indirectly told him about how she could see his spirit during all that time. Wonder how he would react to that😂
