what a fast progress on the jb side's marine viaduct with 9 complete spans! i went to woodlands waterfront promenade more than 1 week ago and the jb marine viaduct was about to have 8 complete spans!
9:55 are those trackworks on the RTS at the siding? Also it seems that the 2nd track for the EDTP project is nearly complete (just missing the ballasts & the final connecting point between the live operating track & the new tracks).

This will do while we hope for the HSR to be built (if it ever will be) I wonder if the smaller trains (similar to LRT Shah Alam) will get over-congested quickly. They should have used the same rolling stock as the Thomson-East Coast line as they originally planned instead!
That actually depends on the efficiency of immigration flow from after Customs on both sides as pax have to go through immigrations first before boarding the train. Also, while the train is said to be similar to the Shah Alam Line, the trains for the Shah Alam Line is 3-cars, but RTS will be 4-cars.

Why can’t on the JB side just build the station & CIQ at the seafront like on the Woodlands side instead of making the whole line 4km long to connect to JB Sentral? The span between JB Sentral until Selat Tebrau can already put two or three stations. Why can’t RTS just be a short 1km people mover?
KTMB was the rail at the time & no one in Malaysia thought that the LRTs at that time would be popular, especially the Kelana Jaya Line. Bear in mind before 1998 only the Ampang Line was operational (1996).

But only because Dr Mahathir had an axe to grind against Singapore and Malaysians who studied and worked there, this thought did not cross his mind. He preferred if more Malaysians bought Proton cars instead.

KLU masa HSR Singpore- KL lebih cepat berbanding flight tentu mereka tertarik mengguna kan HRS dgn Pemandangan Malaysia..mereka ini golongan yg berduit...TDK mahu buang masa salin train.....

1998 Msian only know LRT that just landed in KL. How come JB can get MRT? That's not possible, said fed gov. 😅😅
