I hate it when Canada is relegated to an afterthought when discussing conflicts such as WW11. Both Britain and the United States are guilty of that. It is reprehensible when our Forces are not given the credit they deserve. Most post War movies in the US and Britain extolled the work of their soldiers but Canada- not so much.
My sympathies go out to the friends and families of those fallen heroes as well as to those patriots showing their respect. The headline should read, "1000's of heroes turn out to show their respect for their fallen heroes".

This is a beautiful and noble thing. RIP to all our allied heroes to our north. A TV movie was done in 2009 starring Kevin Bacon called Taking Chance. It was based on actual events. I strongly suggest you watch it. It covers the escorting of a fallen hero from the time his remains arrive in the US until they reach their final resting place in his home town, about a 2,000 mile journey.
