You’re welcome. I didn’t do that for France but I did it for Italy. You can list the activities out in your cover letter. It doesn’t stop anything, and to be on the safer side as well.
Hello Ayo. Concerning the proof of funds, how much can it be and does it have to be in the account for a minimum of 3 months?
Depending on how many days your trip is, I usually use at least £1000 in your account. Not like it should be dormant but just in and out of your account.

We have an appointment for italy visa at Edinburgh on the 21st July. Just noticed that the Bank doesn't show the middle name( second part of the first name, ie instead of Richard may Davies it shows Richard Davies) as in the passport. As the travel insurance also comes as part of bank account benefit it also shows the same.
Would that be a problem! Any experience!
We didn’t experience that but I don’t believe it should be a problem. What I can advice is to put together a good writing stating that you bear the name and where the problem has gone wrong, attach it to your documents on the day on the biometrics and the officer would let you know if it would be necessary or not.

You’re welcome. Didn’t include it for this application but I have done for Italy and I had to include it so it depends on what the application from the country wants.
Hi Ayo, thank you for your video. After application and moved on to TLS for date appointment for London, I realised the date is quite far for my intended date of travel. Now am having problem changing from London to Manchester. Did you experience this?, and can you advise on what to do? I would appreciate that. Inbetween I have called them and sent mails but no feedback.
When we did ours, we didn’t have any problems with our dates but I think they are overwhelmed now as other people are complaining about the date too. I’m not sure if you’d be able to change to Manchester since your passport number has been registered with them. Also they move the application of Manchester to London eventually where they would be stamped.
The best thing would be to call them, they don’t respond to their mails but I was able to lodge a complaint over the phone. You can request that they call you back.
You can also ask if you can fill a new application for a date ahead (means you might have to change your travel date) or ask if you are able to register a new application for Manchester if they delete your record with them in London.
I’d also advice that you check for dates maybe very early in the morning, someone said some dates can be open, I don’t know how true that is.
What I’d advice is that if they are able to respond to you and delete that application, fill a new Schengen form to the end where you’d get the reference number but do not submit, then use the reference number to find dates for Manchester. If you find a suitable date, then you can go back and submit on the Schengen website.( I do hope it’s not confusing)
But the best bet is to reach out to them on phone if they are able to give you other better options.

I have arrived in UK as an international student in August 18. I have a monzo account from then. I didn't receive online payments in that account but I have used it for buying groceries and bus fares. In October my husband and I opened account in bank of Scotland and he is going to have online payments in that. Can I deposit more than 1000 pound for both of us and apply with the bank statement of Monzo account instead of bank of Scotland ?

Hi, I think they usually recommend statements from bank that have physical stations. However you can use it, they have taken it from some people I know. If you are both going to be using just one bank for both of you, then one person will say they are sponsoring the other person and I think you should have at least £2000 each at the close of your bank accounts for 3 months consecutively. You need enough money if you are going to be showing just statements from Monzo.

@@delwaraakter882 I don know of any agencies, I also don’t know which countries have less rejections. I believe you can meet up the criteria and have nothing to worry about. To be on the safer side, work towards January for the trip so that you can use the statement from the bank of Scotland.
If you want to go by that time, you should apply now so as to get your biometric date now. You can go on vfs global for maybe Italy, you’d be able to pick date and fill the form.

@@delwaraakter882 Check for the dates available first, your biometric date should be at least 15 days before your travel date so you should put that into consideration. If it meets this condition, then you can go ahead and apply and then request a letter from school for that date

Dear the flight reservation do you have to pay before taking it along to tls centre and also the hotel reservation do you have to make a payment as well
If you don’t have a travel agent who can do the reservation for you or not willing to pay extra insurance on your ticket so that you can cancel move it, you might have to pay for it.
For the hotel, there are options of payment of arrival so you can just book but they would still require that you put in your card with enough money to confirm
Did you buy actual travel (aeroplane/train) tickets, or did you just attach a reservation in your application? Actually, I am a little worried about buying tickets before getting a visa (for example, what if a visa gets rejected, then it would be a waste of money)?
And the second question is as you mentioned that you need to tell them about your entire travel plan like which places you will be going. What would happen if your plan changes and you have gone to other places that you didn't mention in your application?
I understand you. We bought the travel tickets actually. If your documents are complete and correct, there’s almost no reason to reject you. You can watch out for tickets as low as £10-30 on Ryan air to be on the safer side.
About informing them, it’s just about the countries you’d be visiting and have reservations to back it up. If it changes along the trip, no problem, just make sure you are not violating any immigration rule.

Some dates might not come up after until 48hrs after registration, if that is your case, keep checking, if not, contact the customer service or choose another centre.

Yes it is enough time, don’t lose that date. You would be told it usually takes 15 days but it comes out within 7-10 days considering that all requirements have been met.

Hi. I plan to visit multiple schengen countries so I had couple of questions related to that:
1. Do I have to show reservation for hotels and tickets for every single planned journey or only return ticket is okay?
2. Does the visa application require any statement of purpose (SOP)?
Yes. You’d have to show reservations for the hotels and tickets for the whole journey. You might get a return ticket if you’d be going in and out of a particular country and then return train tickets for other countries within. However, you may just save yourself of the stress and say you’d be going to only one country, then buy train tickets to travel within and hotel reservations when you get there.
The visa application does not necessarily require a statement of purpose if it’s not that you are going for a conference or anything like that. A letter from your employer or a letter from school is okay.

I have a question. I have booked hotel for 2 nights but I bought travel insurance for 7 days, do i get schenzen visa for 7 days or only 2 days or i can get visa of 1 month if i put my return date after 1 month from travel date?
If you want to put your return date after 1 month, then you’d have to show accommodation proof for the 1 month, since it’s a tourist visa, I don’t advise you put one month, it might raise brows as to why you are spending a whole month on holiday.
The visa duration given is based on the visa officer. I booked in for 7 days and bought travel insurance for that and I was given 3 months, one of my friend, 6 months with the same application, some had 1 month too, it was different officers that signed it so I strongly believe it’s based on the officer.

You don’t necessarily have to do that. You can just reserve it and choose the option of payment on arrival or payment close to the date. Some have those options but you must have a reservation.

Yes you can. You’d get a new reference number which you’d use to get a biometric date. I think they usually delete the data after 90days of inactivity. If you are unable to get through, you can give them a ring.

1. I think at the beginning, there should be apply as a group in the French website. Then you can go on to fill both forms, one after the another i believe (not sure, never done one with a spouse but I know you can apply as a group).
2. At the end of the application, don’t submit so that you can go back to edit if necessary. Just take the reference number and go on to TLS website where you can then use the reference number to select a date after paying £25 or so. Sometimes it might take up to some hours before the date reflects, so you just keep checking.
If you don’t mind, you can go through Italy. You just have to enter Italy first and then go to France from there. Their application is quite easier, you get to pick the date first on the VFS global website, then you download the application form and fill the other details in with a pen. The only thing is that they have dates in Scotland compared to Manchester.

Hi, I have booked a holiday to Spain. But there is no appointment available at all in Spanish consulate London. So I tried to book an appointment with French consulate. I got all supporting documents & my travelling date is 22nd July. I never had an issue in getting shengen visa before. For French consulate the latest date available is 2nd August. I'm quite frustrated & disspointed. Could you please let me know is there any way I can get an appointment ASAP?
I presume they are experiencing high volume of applications. You can put a call through to the centre and see if there is a possibility of a walk-in

Hi, I am applying for Schengen visa to attend a conference in France. My studies including the conference expense are funded by university. So whose name I should put as the guarantor? If I put my supervisor's name, will I need to provide any evidence to prove that he is my supervisor other than offer letter
I think you should get a letter from the University to that effect and if your supervisor agrees, you can put his name but make sure he is aware and gives his consent.
Thanks for your reply. But he already gave me a no objection letter stating he is my supervisor and I can support myself for the expense from my funding provided by university. So I am confused if I should put 'myself' or 'guarantor'. I am paying expenses from my account eventhough I am getting it from university

@@nadira3378 if you have registered on the biometric database, you might not be able to register your passport again. What you can do is to fill out another form and speak to them. You’d then speak to them saying you made a mistake on your first form. They should be able to use the new form with your old reference number on the biometric system, they just edit it when you go for the biometrics (I know someone they did that for). If you have stated in your application that you are going for a conference and the university is sponsoring it, then you can’t put yourself (especially if there’s a letter you’d be submitting with it), else, to not go through that stress, just leave it at yourself and don’t submit any letter saying your UNI is sponsoring you. I don’t think it’s that complicated. It’s really left to you.

It’s actually about €60 for every day you’d be staying but we didn’t follow that. We make sure we had at least £1000 in our accounts

@@darlo6402 I’m not sure how that would work out but I’d recommend you reserve an accommodation for the application phase and then you can cancel afterwards and stay at your friend’s when you go to Spain. You can check out free cancellation hotels on Booking.com

Hi Modupe. The application would be together, once you begin the application, you’d see where you can put it as a group.
Travel insurance is based on the number of days of the trip. I do believe you can still use the letter from school but if you get a biometric date for later on which would have exceeded a month by then, you can request for another one to be on the safer side.
Your spouse should also get a letter from their workplace

@@lifewithsunny5752 I’d suggest that you apply to travel to France since Portugal takes long. Just mention it in your application that you’d be going to Portugal in your France application. Also have your hotel booking for both France and Portugal and your flight or train tickets to those two places too and when you’d be coming back to the UK.
For the cover letter, I presume it’s the letter from school. I got it directly from school so I didn’t have to write it myself.
I don’t know anywhere or anyone that does the flight itenary, the ones I saw you’d have to pay for it which is almost equal to buying the actual ticket. If you are sure you’d be free on those days you are travelling, you can as well just buy it straight up. If you buy it earlier, like from now, you might get it cheaper.
Also, one must have at least 3 months UK Bank statement, every other one is just supporting.

They do ask randomly but if you have the address and name of where you are going and are able to say it confidently, you might be good to go

How long did it take to process the visa?
The official timing from the biometric day is 15 working days but it took 7-8 working days for most of us
Couple things I wanted to share as someone who has just recently received there Schengen visa things I think may be helpful to you guys
1. BLS WEBSITE: I would say the BLS website is not useful at all your best option is to call them on their contact number for example on the BLS website there was no available appointments all of the appointments Available were dates passed our holiday giving them a call allowed us to get an appointment literally the next week
2. DOCUMENTS: Secondly read correctly the documents it’s asking you to provide especially the bank statements make sure you have At least £800 in your most update statement you submit and it has to be so recent so even the day or day before your appointment.
3. DAY OF APPOINTMENT: Masks sure you arrive Atleast 2hrs before your appointment you may be able to get an earlier time and if anything is missing you have time to print those things off
4. GOD: continue to pray because getting a Schengen visa literally in 15 days before I travel it was a Miracle and I owe it all to God it’s honestly a stressful process but once you get it you will be so pleased we should all be given the opportunity to travel despite the type of passport we have

You wouldn’t be needing a new visa, the visa covers all Schengen areas. You can start the application now and pick your biometric date for September. You need at least 15days before the intended travel time so I’d advice that you give it at least 15-20 days

You can group the applications together after it has been done individually. Your partner should get a letter from their work place and children, letter from school if there are any going with you
