And usually if someone is racist there are usually actions accompanying the words and I have yet to see those racist action from Batty over the course of her tenure as a viewing party host. Furthermore nobody in the drag community is also is pulling out receipts. Usually when someone is racist and they do something racist you can pull out a long list of receipts to back up the claims (Ex.TRex, Sharon needles or Elliot) but in this case I just don’t see it.

Deja completely changed my opinion of her with this viewing party. Just goes to show how much editing can take a toll on your perceptions of people, cause shes a sweetheart here through and through, an amazing listener, high energy, relatable, charming.... just a joy to have on when some of the other girls have been pretty low energy (not saying they gotta always be at 100 but still). I wouldve loved someone in the Q&A to ask her how she feels about seeing herself edited as a villain/someone who likes conflict. Its basically her, jasmine, and daya thatre getting the aggro/shady edit.
I loved Deja here!!! She doesn't get a lot of screentime on the show, and we haven't really got to know her personality and story on TV; I've noticed she sometimes gets a "bitter edit" when she says something sarcastically but it's edited to sound shady and egocentric, and I was worried she might get a bad reception from fans of the show because of it. However, here she got to showcase how sweet and joyous she is! Changing subject, am I the only one who thinks this season is very competitive? At first it was a clear fight for the crown between Willow and Angeria, but in the latest weeks Bosco, Camden and Daya have found their voice and have shown that they have the potential to go all the way! I guess in a pair of episodes we will get to Snatch Game and I hope Deja can shine too!
As a fan of Dejas’s from the Central Valley for the past 6 years, I have been following her and attending her events as much as possible. For all of you commenting about her character and resilience and wit and light are all actually really her. That is how she is all the time. It is kind of a shame that wasn’t a storyline this season, so thank you Roscoes for exposing the children to her. Perhaps she needs to be on live television or host her own show?
I stand with the Asian community! Racial slurs/ jokes should be weeded out of public entertainment. I love Batty Davis so so so much, I think she’s stunning and hilarious. She slipped up and made a mistake hoping to come off as funny and it was rude. She realized that and she is deeply apologetic about it! It's so disappointing seeing all the over-the-top responses to the Batty drama. She said something inappropriate, made an apology, and lost one days worth of pay. She isn't being treated like the worst person in the world, she's just being held accountable, which is very important. As a black, queer person myself, I stand in solidarity with any marginalized community. It is no one's choice to forgive her but the Asian community's. We can all learn from this situation, and you can talk about your grievances with the decisions made, but to act like she's a fragile little child that needs everyone's love and support is so backwards. I love her but I'm glad she was held accountable, which everyone should be. This shit needs to be normalized. You should think critically about why you feel so strongly for her right now, sounds like you may have some internal work to do.
The energy is awkward making this viewing party a little hard to watch, no fault of Deja or Kerri.
