Daniel Charbonneau Hello Daniel, yeah it’s the main thing I wanted this winter this stove. Very heavy but I’m gonna have a lot of fun out and about with it. Thanks for watching bud, Ant 👍
RickT Outdoor Adventure Hey Rick yeah I love it mate, a ton weight like but worth it if your not having to travel too far. Cheers bud. Hope you and the family had a great time on Mull 👍
AS THE CROW FLIES HIKING Hello Crow, thank you mate, full test tonight in the Lavvu, I’m looking forward to a proper test, if only it was freezing!! Thanks again bud, Ant 👍
Wow that's a great bit of kit - you're lucky to have such a great late Christmas present. Should be great for you to keep warm and no doubt you're using it now on your camp as I type this. ATB
MCM Outdoor Show Hey Chris, thanks man yeah it’s bloody brilliant mate I love it. Yes, it’s been on my Christmas list for a long time haha. You would love it in your size 3 Lavvu 👍. Cheers for watching mate.
Hi Ant, I hope you are keeping well mate :) Great looking stove mate. It looks vey similar to the ones that we use in the bell tents at work. They have lasted quite well and they get used most days during the season. I forgot the flues were silver lol. I will check when I go back to see if we still have the water boxes that clips to the side. We don't tend to use them, so I could send you one if you fancy. Fingers crossed the stove works well for you Ant... thanks for taking the time mate, all the best, Mark :)
Mark Bailey Hello Mark yeah I’m doing good thank you buddy. How’s your weekend going? Yeah I am very impressed with it mate, I was out on a camp last night with it to put it through it’s paces lol. Aww mate that would be awesome if you could, it would be a great add on to it. Let me know so I can pay you for the postage and stuff mate. Those bell tents are amazing, loads of room, we stopped in one in the Lakes the 4 of us. Thanks again for watching Mark and also for your comment 👍
I'm Not Lost I'm Exploring Hello mate. You won’t be disappointed, it’s a great bit of kit, only downside is it’s very heavy. If I wasn’t in the Lavvu and in the lightweight tent it would have been easier but I am aching now lol. Thanks mate, Ant 👍
I don't know this brand of wood burning stove, but I use a much larger one (13 kW) every winter day to heat my house and hot water. I don't know whether or not this stove has a baffle plate, but with the air dampers on the door and if there is one on the flue, most of the heat is going up that chimney. Once your fire is going, damp down the air intake for a slower, hotter burn. Also, on the home versions, you have firebricks at the base and on three sides, this I assume is just metal? .50 Cal Ammo Box size - but heavier, I'm guessing about 15 kilos? You'll no doubt love it in your Lavvu, sweat your gonads off until 3-4 am when the stove has gone out the lack of tent insulation has allowed all of that heat to escape and you're lying there in your Birthday suit. 😉😁 You can't win in this camping out lark, but you can certainly enjoy yourself and sure will cooking on that lump of wood burning metal. You had a stove before where your tent collapsed on it - what was that one?
Robert's Bulgaria Hello Robert, yeah she’s a beast, good job I’ve got big muscles 💪. Yeah I’m gonna pick up a flue dampener but I’m concerned that the stove jack won’t fit where it needs to be in order to spread the flaps of the Lavvu. Great bit of kit. Cheers for watching.
that's a beast! Looks good and solid. I bet you a Aluminium tent peg you'll end up with your door open on your tent because that looks like it'll put out some serious heat. Nice late present 💪 atb Mike
That's a really impressive stove there mate. It looks like it's built to last a lifetime. Like Billy said, "this stove aint light" so it isn't a backpacking stove. Boy, do I wish I could fit this into my backpack though. This would be great for hauling on a sled, a cart, or a snowmobile. It may even be good for bike packing. Looking forward to seeing you put it to good use my friend.
Thrifty Survivor Hi the Thrifty mate hope your doing ok. Yeah definitely a lot of weight to carry but you are bang on when you said about using a sled or the other options you gave. I couldn’t travel far with it but to where we camp I know I can manage mate. Thanks Thrifty for watching and commenting bud. New hot tent video incoming 😉
@@AntSurviveTheNight All is well on my end except that I'm under the weather at the time. I'm sure in a few days, all will be back to normal though. I'm sure that hot tent video will be an interesting video, especially with your new stove. I'll keep an eye out for it mate.
Looks like you've got the updated version of my stove Ant. ( mine doesn't have the chimney cover or the side grills ) got mine because i was fed up of smelling of smoke all of the time. I use mine outside of the camper, as ive no tent that it will go in. Hope you dont have far to go for your camp mate, as you know, this stove aint light 😂
Billy`s Little BIG adventure channel Hi Billy yes this ain’t no lightweight stove is it haha. I have about 10 minutes walk from the car to camp but the tough bit is get up and down the hillside to get to it lol. Yeah that stove video of yours is how I found your channel mate 👍. Thanks a bunch mate for watching and commenting bud.
Wish you had shown how to put the glass sealant on the glass door. It's not in the instruction booklet and every video I've found on youtube has missed this step out
@@AntSurviveTheNight think we have it sorted now but thank you anyway 😊 We took the plunge and put the foam sticky sealant onto the body around the aperture then slotted the glass in. Started it up last night to "cure" the pain and no smoke escaping so I think we did it right. Taking it on its first outing on Monday ☺
I have just bought this and want to get the same kettle so it fits perfectly lol can I ask what kind you used in this video and where you got it ? Thanks
Lovely stove Ant and looking forward to see it out in the woods on a camp. Excuse my ignorance but do wood stoves not need a damper on the bottom end of the stove pipe usually?
Rachael Wyatt Hi Rachael hope your doing ok? Yeah your right but with this model it’s got it on the front of the stove 👍. I have one for my other Samovar stove that I just pop on the top. Cheers and have a good weekend.
Hi Rachael, I have a wood burner in my home and you are correct. Usually the vent at the front controls the air flow into the stove and the damper on the bottom end of the stove pipe controls the 'draw' up the chimney. If I get the balance right you get a long slow burn. Cheers Sel
Buzz and Sel Unsupervised than sounds very promising, I shall get one and look forward to spending more time with it and not worrying if I’ve got enough wood. Cheers Sel 👍
Hi Jamie, that’s for your flue mate, the flue locks over the top of the stove with the Jubilee clip holding them both together. The two wires are to hold the flue in to place depending on what flue you have. Cheers pal, Ant 👍
Nice looking stove thanks for the video
That is a perfect add to your out door activities. You will most defiantly be enjoying that stove.
