I don't understand why they consider the mechanicus forces weaker than the others. The skitari and legio Cybernetyca are far stronger than guardsman for example. They are even an almost (almost) worthy opponent for the Space Marines.
At least from campaign perspective, I find Mechanicus to you a go-to lance and carrier fleet. Imperial Navy is vastly better with macros - armoured prows on most ships help with getting withing medium-close range where macros are most effective - and Imperial Navy lances kind of suck for the most part. And IN has better morale, in case of damage taken and better troop efficiency. I don't find maining macros on AdMech ships to be a good idea - they are not bad at it, but IN is strictly better. Lances are where it is at with AdMech - they deal the same damage as macros for them, while having perfect accuracy and good critical chance to boot. While IN Gothic class is a trap, because two firestorm frigates offer you a better effective firepower than its full broadside for just above half the cost, AdMech gothic is a wonderful crit-machine. AdMech dictators are also arguably better than IN version due to simple cost-efficiency. All that is before we even count nova cannons. I'm honestly conflicted about Ark Mechanicus - it is the only ship in AdMech fleet with a really solid staying power and it has surprisingly good firepower to boot and raw damage output similar to a Battle Barge - yet at the same time, it is a ship that suffers form a Lunar problem - it does not commit to any one weapon system, but while Lunar has advantage of being relatively cheap, Ark Mechanicus has no such advantage.
1 is the highest priority, but you can also use the lock on target option (the button on the bottom left with your ship's attack behavior to tell a ship to focus on a specific target as well while you're giving them move orders. Although if the weapons are unable to hit that target they will still shoot at what is readily available to them as a note.
Oathmaster alright, the other thing about priority's I need to ask about. Is the ship itself the priority target, or is it a specific part of the ship say engines or generators? perhaps both?
The ship itself is the priority, what setting the part of the ship to target means you will basically reroll any critical hits you have on the target, unless it hits the area of the ship you want. It may only be lightly damaged in which case they can just immediately repair it, but it helps with crippling a ship you want to kill. If they are very mobile you aim for engines, if they are unruly like Orks tend to be then you may want to kill the deck to make their morale break faster etc.
Bro to many words. If this is meant for people gettin into the game from 0 you waaaaaaaaay over did the tangents and digressions. Just brake it down to what ships are good at what best. I swear i been listening to the video for 10 minutes and it's only been 30"

0:16, did you just say "Omnicyan"?
in other news, this is a good informative video even a year after its release
thanks for the advice
How do priority targets work? I cant tell if 1 or 5 is the highest priority.
