A German car magazine has put a Claas Xerion 5000 on the infamous Nordschleife of the Nürburgring (Germany), a race track which is used for measuring the speed performance of vehicles on a normal road, and also how they behave when driven this way. Was quite funny and made it into agriculture magazines in many countries all over the world. The video can be found on YT, but it is only in German.
@@natanbrastap7752 that's what I meant, plow bottoms. And it's a lot more than just buttons. I operate a six bottom rollover plow and I can tell you that it takes some extreme skill. Just learning how to set up the plow seemed scary enough, but to operate and do a good job is much harder.

I’m curious, watching videos it appears moldboard plowing is still in favor in Europe but in the States it is almost a thing of the past. I wonder why the difference in practices.
Not sure about Europe but here we have taken to more reduced tillage or no till and not turning the ground over so much to help reduce topsoil erosion.

it looks like DRY looSE soil. hehe if you tryed the same in a field in northern norway that hadnt been plowed in say 10 years,, you risk hitting big boulders say 10-20+ feet across. There we use just a single plow that have SPRING TENSION on the blade so it tilt up wnen you hit a BIG rock and dont break.. and if the boulder isnt to big you bring in an excavator ore dynamite to remove the top of it if its massive. 😉 later if you vant to fineplow the field you use 3 to 6 blades depending on how your tractor is.. Wery few farms in northern norway have say a BIG CLAAS.
@@samkom33 we all know Norwegians are quite weird people confused by easy oil wealth... There's isn't any serious farming possible in Norway because of natural conditions. You can't live without taxpayers subventions. Metric system is long used as well. Learn relating to reality, including correct writing, spelling and fact based statements.

Boils down to $ to cover an acre of ground. Europeans typically grow high value crops on acres, where the US is commodity based (Corn, Wheat)
Poison is strictly controlled in Europe. To minimize damage from mice, many still resort to plowing.
The type of soil you have plays a role as well.
