It's interesting that you managed to select expansion targets that effectively led you to conquer nearly the entire Niger river watershed. Which would actually have been a some what logical real world expansion direction to take. To bad the British still have the Niger delta area, but what can one do about that, right? Thinking about it, if in game rivers gave transportation advantages like they did in real life, then this expansion could be further motivated amongst players as well. Well maybe one day they'll add such a feature and perhaps also various river works to further improve the benefits one can get from rivers. That would be pretty neat and give some extra directions in how players could play the game.
Dude I got one too in the first 10 years as EIC, went straight for homesteading, nobody was angry, it passed within months, SoL went up from 5.4 to 9.1. It's hilarious how satisfying this fucking game is lmao
its easier in small countries because you can just spam trade routes until corn law triggers. I did a Qing run and it took me until 1868 before I was able to increase grain prices enough to trigger corn laws. Funnily enough though, a market liberal is basically useless for Qing because Agrarianism will turn your 300k+ game start aristocratic investment pool into a 500k+ investment pool, gets even more hilarious if you just keep the land owners powerful for that 20% artistocratic contribution bonus and perpetually appease them with lobbies.
Sometimes I like to keep puppets because in the later game it allows for more companies. I keep Romania as a dominion when playing Super Germany to hopefully allow them to give me more oil throughput lol
Sokoto seems like a fun challenge for a roleplay campaign. Treading a shaky balance between enacting the necessary modernization to fight off the colonial powers, while also staying true to the country's religious identity as a theocratic Caliphate. Especially challenging in Sokoto's position.
Ok, but can you do an Oman run without the country splitting? No one has accepted the Oman challenge. It looks like I'll have to wait until Carpathian Knight gets to it in the A-Z. Or is Ludi up to the challenge?!?

It's pretty easy, depending whether your laws are actually shtty or not. If you have tenant farming, it will be harder.
It’s a part of the corn laws JE. it is guaranteed as long as your grain price is +25% and you have either isolationism or export focus.
