As a Vietnamese, I live for the once in a blood moon moments where I get to eat these delicacies.
True
Me too
Really I eat this every couple of weeks
William Chau its blue moon... get ur allusions right
Linh sounds like a Vietnamese mom when she speaks Vietnamese 😂
It sounded so soothing
I was just thinking I can't figure out if this girl is a young girl with a mature voice, or an older woman who looks super young 😂 cuz sometimes she really did sound like a mother or an auntie lol, and it could go either way cuz some asians never raisin 😂
ur not wrong
I've never seen someone squeeze a lime as perfectly as David
"Bot ban huh x-e-o" David's pronunciation is on point
everytime I see Linh, the “Supermarket Love Story” song plays in my head. 😂 and also I feel like I’ve waited an eternity for the next episode
Period shits are a real thing
Man i know you’re not a food youtuber and do many things and don’t have time to focus on one kind of thing so heavily, but these cooking videos are really great and i love learning how to make these asian dishes please make more of these
YES--try new things! My main cooking hobby is eastern cuisine. I have been messing around with things since 2012. Each country is vast and different. Going to the Asian markets where I live is amazing as I´ve developed a relationship with the people who own the shops. Something that has been very fulfilling is when I am asked if I know how to use the product and am told to explain how to use it and impress the employees. That is how you build a relationship and show love is with acceptace with food from other cultures. I am so lucky to have the cultures in my moderate-sized town.
The flavors grow on you and its such an experience. Thank you for this video.
*that is not a hat* 😂😂😂 I love you david
i love when david cooks viet food and speaks viet!!
That ending tho, lmfao
When I watch your videos only I'm completely invested in it and get surprised when that 12 minute video went by so fast.
If you add beer into the batter it makes it crispier! Also, when the bottom starts to not stick anymore my mom taught me to flip them over for a few seconds so you don’t have to ever worry about the middle not being cooked all the way. It’s helpful for the first few batches when the cast iron isn’t as hot too!
amerrzz47 how much beer do you recommend?
I'm not really sure because when my family makes it we make a huge batch of it so they'll use a whole beer sometimes. You don't want to add too much or else the texture is going to get too thin. My best suggestion is just add about half a can or so, and pour a test one and see if you like the consistency. I've had a batch where my mom used a lot of beer even tho the texture was fine and it still tasted really good honestly lol.
Ft. Casey Chan next year
Yessss that viet rep tho🔥

I was looking forward to the Viet "rap" the whole video :(

ABOUT TIME DAVID I'VE BEEN WAITING TWO WEEKS
My grandma would put some coconut milk on top and let it cook together. So good 🤤

You should try cooking Thai food with Tim :)
You NEED to be on Tv mannnn! Hilarious!
Love this video! I think after a while, could you do a video of your cooking gear? Some of these tools I've never seen before
Protip: Put some beer in the batter of the Bánh Khọt before u leave it to rest (or in David’s words: ‘mingle’) - makes the batter crispier! 👍🏻🤤
Caucazoid, I love it! hahahaha
We only have small Spanish supermarkets, basic grocery store and H-Mart where I live. 😂
My favorite one that we would stop at was 555, I loved that place but they closed down.
David's hair is on point!👌
Yes it’s crazy to think i love you, supermarket love affairrrrr
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
2:23 David is so satisfied
Can we just take a moment to applaud David for his pronunciations? I always try to teach my friends Vietnamese, but they never pronounce it write because of the thick accent behind the language, but David is a pro. Is this what he gained from dating all of those Viet girls lmao?
I love "the office" style interview parts
Caucasiod, lol, David.... I immediately thought of dinosaurs when you said that. Caucasiod is like a rare dinosaurs specie.

It's been a while since I laughed this hard.
It's so funny where David thought he was being insulted when she really was complimenting him haha
That shit is sooo fire
Everytime I go to Vietnam this is an absolute must.
He sounds like joe!
"Stir it up, stir it up!" *Spoonful flies onto table* ToT
PS. Loving this series David!!
K-H Market! I love going there when I'm in Long Beach
I’d love to know what those cast iron pots are called.
"she has a bf can u fkn believe that?" lmao
If you put a bit of beer in there it makes it VERY crispy!!
I'm so happy to see Mike Chen from Strictly Dumpling cover viet Pho, and now you showing love to viet food :)

I think she means bánh căn not bánh canh. 😊
Kevin Duong mmmm I would sure love a bowl of banh canh on this cold day today.
Looks bomb!! Next time, put the batter in a squeeze bottle so you don't have to use the scooper.

I had some of these today...and they literally taste like nothing. I was actually impressed by how much flavor it didn't have. Are they suppose to taste like anything?
