I'd say you got it. Parts are plentiful, and cheap. and its way more fun to conquer a mudpit driving something you built, rather than something you bought.
Thanks man......I guess I should have been clearer.....lol. I am building a mower like your and have not bought rear tires yet. I totally agree with you that overly aggressive tires will just break stuff, I am thinking about ITP Holeshots for the rear of mine and the Carlisles like yours for the front. BMI has 3/4" hubs with a 4 on 4 pattern and I have a set of golf cart 8 inch rims in that pattern. Your setup does GREAT. Thansk for the advice and help.
well, I have to admit, the audio was being swapped in some of those scenes.. if the hand held cam was on, I would overlay that audio onto the gopro video. So the only tue gopro audio used was when I mentioned my camera drowning, and at the very end. Otherwise it was in the case, and I had to amp up the audio so you could hear it in the vid. I knew you'd mention the sticker placement! haha
me either... thats an odd one... I dont think I have ever encountered a problem like that one before. Usually people have a problem with slippage in the water.
well, the weight was still supported bet the center pivot bolt, the shocks just controlled the up and down movement... The ones I used we just laying around my garage, so I don't know exactly what weight they are for.
Lol you guys are an awesome bunch of ppl.. Wish I still lived upstate because I use to do the same thing (with my .22). Its amazing how simple fun can be (for guys at least). Keep them coming.
It's not really done, and I havent been really motivated to work on it right now... I got a lot of other thing going on right now, once I get all that crap done, I'll get back into it
Just like to say, I think i really like the way the gopro cuts out background noise! and when it is in it's case I like the way it tones down the exhaust high frequencies...Hate to say it, but this is one of my favorite videos you have compiled..thumbs up bro! (Nice spot for the ATLTF sticker too!)
These guys have a good point. Yeah you could dump a crap ton of money on a quad, or you could just beat on a lawnmower you got cheap on craigslist and hopped up with homemade ingenuity and parts you can purchase damn near anywhere. Parts interchangeability and ease of work is much simpler on lawn mowers/tractors. Might have to try this out. Always did it when I was a kid with my dad's old ones.
yeah, you can pm me if you want. if you go to my channel, there is a pull down menu, just send me a message if you have a question. It might take a day or 2 for me to get back to you sometimes..
I use a monkey wrench to hold the pulley shaft in place, and then use another socket wrench to loosen the bolt. Just don't use the monkey wrench on the actual engine shaft. that would be bad... just use it on the pulley shaft.
Well to comment on getting big v-8 4x4s,, been there done that,, I had jacked up 76 international scout,, 4'' lift 345 and the super swampers...had fun and also no bills..trust me when I tell ya there's a diff with having fun on $10 worth of gas than $200 and having a $20 fix opposed to a $1000 fix
u guys have got some nasty skidder ruts up there ive done some atv ridding around kingfield but i would love to take one of my offroad mowers some time lol
I had a Murray put like 550 miles on it and the transaxle bushings wore out and it leaks grease that might happen to you , I've got a 19.5 hp craftmens now
ya say when i get out in the middle of deep water and get stuck and i push in the clutch to put it in reverse, the tires keep spinning forward. so i slam it into reverse with the tires still spinning. once i get out of the water the clutch works fine. I just have no idea what would cause that.
Clicking the like button tells youtube that "YOU" (the viewer) prefers this type of video, therefor, youtube will start to recommend other videos, like this one, for YOU to watch. It helps me because if I get a bunch of "likes", then youtube will be more apt to recommend my video to other people who aren't subscribed, but have "liked" similar videos.. All you need to do is watch and enjoy... LIKE/DISLIKE as you want to, and thanks for watching!
Man, you guys look like you're having a great time!! Fearless have you noticed that you front tires never load up with goo? I went back and looked at a couple other of your videos to be sure. They shed mud and goo better than any other tire in the video. It makes me wonder if an ITP Holeshot ( or similar) might be the ideal rear tire? Slippy enough to not brake the tranny yet grippy enough to go where ever?? What do you think?
also im looking for 2 coils and intake and maybe a fly wheel for a 24 hp kohler courage [THE CHEAP VERSIONS LOL] the block I got was in a fire the shroued melted over the fly wheel and messed up the coils im sure the blocks still great as it didn't take the heat
i was going to say "n ow now fearless...that is what an atv is for! then i realized my atv has bald tires and is as useful that way as a fish's bycicle!
I have a question also..... I click on the "Like" button on your videos. Does that "rate them up" or is there another step I am missing? Keep up the great work man!! Yours is my favorite channel on you tube.
Ok Fearless front Im young but I got a newer mower its bout 5 years old its a 18hp troybilt. My dad wants to weld the spider gears do u have a video on how to do it. and also would puttin a smaller pulley help on muddin? Your the master of muddin please reply.
For a top speed run with ur Murray I wanna make mine like urs and go missing with it buy I also wanna drive it around and know how fast I would be going with the 4 in front and 5 in back pull set up
I'm a little jealous that you guys up north have so many mud trails to go on, you can't hardly take 2 steps around here without someone whipping out a shotty and accusing you of trespassing, what is that pulley/gear drive looking thing on the back of mudkings tractor?
I'd say you got it. Parts are plentiful, and cheap. and its way more fun to conquer a mudpit driving something you built, rather than something you bought.
And it runs through the mud! Great job. Good to see the machine doing what U built it to do. Enjoy the videos. Keep them coming.

They are just sections of lawn edging pop riveted onto the fenders.
Stickers will be available soon. I will let everyone know.

old woods skidder and logging trails, jeep trails, and high tension line trails. thats about it
Boy that was an epic moment watching you roll ! lol pretty sweet run you guys Mudkings tractor sounds like an old Farmall! Awesome!
I have no slippage at all. Took me a lot of tweaking to get it that good, but it works awesome now
Lol you guys are an awesome bunch of ppl.. Wish I still lived upstate because I use to do the same thing (with my .22). Its amazing how simple fun can be (for guys at least). Keep them coming.
i have a stronger spring on my clutch, as well as a custom clutch setup, and a few well placed guards that help keep the water out
it's a 12.5 briggs flathead motor, and I have a 4" on the motor, and a 5" on the trans
Its grazy to watch you. I always watch your videos. It is really interesting.
the Murray is my favourite off road lawnmower of yours
Glad to see that you still have your muarry
It's not really done, and I havent been really motivated to work on it right now... I got a lot of other thing going on right now, once I get all that crap done, I'll get back into it
Thanks, I wouldn't try to pulley swap a hydro, it will burn up the pump in it before too long
hahaha sweet! gotta try it out with my lawnmower, but they are push ones, so my feet will end up constantly wet lol
Thanks man. Just want to help you out as much as I can so you keep up the great videos!
dude love the vids. keep it up im getting some good ideas!
Just like to say, I think i really like the way the gopro cuts out background noise! and when it is in it's case I like the way it tones down the exhaust high frequencies...Hate to say it, but this is one of my favorite videos you have compiled..thumbs up bro! (Nice spot for the ATLTF sticker too!)
as someone who has never been interested in this sort of thing, this video was quite enjoyable
no, they will be available soon though
ya, the block is probably fine, as long as you didnt melt the oil seal below the flywheel, it should be ok
no, try to keep the front and rear wheel directly inline with eachother
i like the sound of jakes exhaust on his mower! plus he is using my favorite motor!... opposed briggs!
I've been doing this to it for years without a problem.
I don't know why, but this is very funny to watch.. Y'all are great.
Hero3 silver. So far it's been great. the video quality is better than my handheld... Which actually drowned on this journey... lol
yes, it's a half inch wide
Man....I gotta get mine going again! I miss doing this with you guys! I gotta get back out there!
These guys have a good point. Yeah you could dump a crap ton of money on a quad, or you could just beat on a lawnmower you got cheap on craigslist and hopped up with homemade ingenuity and parts you can purchase damn near anywhere. that was a awsome romp. i was wondering when you are going to make a video on how you did your new brake handle on the shifter
I'll never get rid of this thing!
Loven the camera angles you used!! Great stuff!
its a 92", but the belt system is completely custom
this was an old discontinued skidder/jeep trail
who the fuck needs a 9,000 dollar atv? not these guys! frickin awesome man!
Great footage! Looks like you guys had a blast! You need to drag your butt down to Indiana and go to Haspin with us one of these summers.
it wont disengage? so you can't stop when you get in the water?
Love the Murry fearless
Dayum, this looks like heaps of fun. Thanks for te upload ;)
yeah, you can pm me if you want. if you go to my channel, there is a pull down menu, just send me a message if you have a question. It might take a day or 2 for me to get back to you sometimes..

Great video guys! Cant believe this didnt show up in my subs... Glad I found it!
Also, nice placement of the ATLTF sticker, haha.
I use a monkey wrench to hold the pulley shaft in place, and then use another socket wrench to loosen the bolt. Just don't use the monkey wrench on the actual engine shaft. that would be bad... just use it on the pulley shaft.

He actually has a Briggs and Stratton electric one. He has a video on it earlier in his channel. It works pretty well!!
damn i need to finish my mower soooo baddddd
Hhaha! NAIL ON THE HEAD BUB!
nice romp man! You should do an update video on the Murray about all the things you did to it :)
I know, I have a cherokee with a 3" lift, and wheel that, but it uses 10x as much fuel!
ya man~! this was a crazy trail
here is anidea- toughen up an old deck and slap it under the murray. that way you can mow the trails in the simmer!
u guys have got some nasty skidder ruts up there ive done some atv ridding around kingfield but i would love to take one of my offroad mowers some time lol
I would, but I would have to buy new wheels and swap out my rear axles to use them. I may do that once these tires finally "shit the bed"...
I had a Murray put like 550 miles on it and the transaxle bushings wore out and it leaks grease that might happen to you , I've got a 19.5 hp craftmens now
soon, I just wanted to make sure it's gonna hold up for a while before I call it successful.
the go pro actually picked up pretty good sound, and good quality
4" on the motor and 5" on the trans
yup, you're one of the few who noticed that!
You should take the monster lifted mudding mower on the next romp!
Looks freakin fun man!!
Well, you watched it, so what does that make you?
ya say when i get out in the middle of deep water and get stuck and i push in the clutch to put it in reverse, the tires keep spinning forward. so i slam it into reverse with the tires still spinning. once i get out of the water the clutch works fine. I just have no idea what would cause that.

Boot full of water! lol 9:17
how fast does the murry go
like 20mph
also im looking for 2 coils and intake and maybe a fly wheel for a 24 hp kohler courage [THE CHEAP VERSIONS LOL] the block I got was in a fire the shroued melted over the fly wheel and messed up the coils im sure the blocks still great as it didn't take the heat
yes, I did make a video on it. search my channel and you can find it
i was going to say "n ow now fearless...that is what an atv is for! then i realized my atv has bald tires and is as useful that way as a fish's bycicle!
Mud king needs engine protection
haha he does do that lol
Must be nice having alot of trails to ride lol I finally got permission to ride on some as soon as I finish my little jeep I'm gonna hit it hard
I have a question also..... I click on the "Like" button on your videos. Does that "rate them up" or is there another step I am missing? Keep up the great work man!! Yours is my favorite channel on you tube.
it depends on weather you modify where your plow hooks up at if its at the front end and u modify it then u might need a custom plow
Ok Fearless front Im young but I got a newer mower its bout 5 years old its a 18hp troybilt. My dad wants to weld the spider gears do u have a video on how to do it. and also would puttin a smaller pulley help on muddin? Your the master of muddin please reply.

Can you put up a video about how to lock the rear end and make it positive traction once you have to do another one
Have you made a video of the little fender add ons ... I made some for mine but she still throws mud every were
I kept my lawn tractor original but I don't know where to get offroad tires the right size.
I'm a little jealous that you guys up north have so many mud trails to go on, you can't hardly take 2 steps around here without someone whipping out a shotty and accusing you of trespassing, what is that pulley/gear drive looking thing on the back of mudkings tractor?
It's a pto winch. it's sort of hooked up, but it's not finished.
How to you keep water out of your intake?
Are the mowers 4x4??? If not yall got some bad ass mowers
ha fearless can u make a vid of u making a littlecart to pull some one in and to bring stuff behind your lawnmower.
The mud king sounds good...
Can u do a mudding vid with the lifted mudding mower
Anything special you do to seal them?
I might not have the opportunity to go through as much water as you do... but just incase I find some.
Thanks!
