    Hey fam!! My name/links might be different than what I said in the video and that's because after four amazing years of decoden cases & three years on UA-cam, I've decided to pursue art in new ways 🥰 The description is updated to reflect the accurate accounts and links. Thanks for your support!

      Yeah for sure! I tried to practice with play-doh but it was too thick 😂 Frosting is a little easier than silicone but it's still better than nothing! Plus you can scrape it up and reuse it to practice over and over without wasting it much 👍🏼

      I used to think more paint made it runnier and less paint made it thicker but I've learned it has more to do with the temperature and humidity of the area you're in. Recently, the silicone hardened up on me while still in the bag while I was mid-custom laptop case. I turned the temperature down to around 68 and that seemed to help. Also less humidity is better.

    Hi. I don’t know if you still reply to comments but i really need help, how do you clean out your piping bags and piping tips after use? i had a really hard time cleaning them out because of the silicone. I had to throw them out later because I couldn’t get it out

    • @AlexaJuncajArt
      @AlexaJuncajArt 2 роки тому +1

      Hi! I only clean the tips and I throw the bags away. I just cut the tip out, then wipe it over and over with paper towel until there's no silicone left🤷🏻‍♀️ It's definitely the worst part of making cases😂

  • @DCruins23
    @DCruins23 3 роки тому +1

    Do you not need a mask for working with the silicone?

    • @AlexaJuncajArt
      @AlexaJuncajArt 3 роки тому +2

      I would wear one if I were working with silicone sealing a bathroom (or doing a large project) in a small space. But, I always work in a well ventilated area and put the silicone away the minute I'm done using it. I only use a few pumps for phone cases. If it gets on your skin though, definitely wipe it up and wash your hands right after because it can be a skin irritant.
      Also from what I've read, if you are using 100% silicone like the ones I use, it's not likely to contain harmful chemicals. It just smells kind of bad lol.
