These two Shadows chasing one aother in the Corkscrew makes for some formidablie sight (and sound). I remember these cars in magazines back in the day. The days of Mark Donohue, George Follmer, Denny Hulme. The glory days of CanAm. Unforgettable. Thank you Sir for the video.
I stood behind one of these accidentally as it started up. It almost knocked me over. Each cylinder was like a slap of wind and when it revved I felt like the on scene weatherman standing in the tornado. Amazing
That's about the meanest sounding engine I've ever heard. I've only recently discovered Can Am, being an Aussie. I think it's about the most glorious racing category ever. What a shame it only exists in historical racing nowadays. Imagine what people could do with it now.
I remember in middle school…, about ‘78..(?) being in the school library looking at the Guinness Book and seeing the UOP Shadow CanAm car listed as holding a record for, I think.., fastest straight-a-way speed ever recorded in competition. That was a long time ago. Im sure memory is failing me somehow. Now I’ll have to try to look it up. It doesn’t seem likely to be true for this car given the existence of the Mulsane straight at Le Mans which obviously these cars never saw.

The 2 fastest cars that ever graced Can Am.

I remember seeing advertising about the Shadow as a kid. Never saw it. I've seen it now. Sweet!

They were faster than F1 cars for about 3 laps.

Hitting 160+ at Laguna Seca is just unbelievable. These Shadows don’t get the credit they deserve, man
Who are these Bennett Brothers?
I believe they do a lot of restoration and driving for RM Motorsports
