Camping is all about making memories. In the present, its miserable -- sleeping on the hard ground, freezing in your sleeping bag, misquitos, eating food cooked over the open fire, etc. After its over, somehow those miserable moments fade away & magically it becomes the greatest vacation ever.
It's real unspoiled life. 59, in the Rockies and hunted, fished and camped, including 21 years old school Army Field Artillery most of my life. Stay safe where you're at. More room for those of us who enjoy and are skilled in these wonderful areas. Then we won't have to rescue anyone...lol 🙏🫡🇺🇲🦅

We take several vacations a year. One we go to Matagorda in a travel trailer to surf fish, cook out and play games. Another we stay in a resort where they have activities and sites to see. Then we do several weekend get aways to small towns that are close and just explore the town and meet locals this is usually where my son's band is playing for the weekend. My favorite vacation is my backyard though.😅
An Obama commercial came up before your video Scott. I almost threw up in my mouth! We are not hikers either but did some with our daughter & husband in Hocking Hills Ohio and had a blast! We saw some beautiful sites and are talking about going back this fall!!

I had to laugh at your comment about 2 pairs of pants and 2 tshirts. Every time we go back and forth to Florida my husband has to pack because he has a few pairs of shorts and a stack of tshirts, while I had two complete wardrobes, one in each state.
Well, I’ve been able to take 1 week of vacation in 40 years. I’ve always done a job that nobody else could do if I took time off. I still do a Rear-loader Garbage route (the marines of the industry) often going ten hours without a lunch break or other break; hence I’m still jacked at 57! Every situation has advantages and disadvantages I suppose. The tougher road has a payout that money can’t buy.

I will never go camping again. I went as a kid and hated it. Slept in a tent and was up at the crack of dawn. My idea of a vacation is a hotel, pool, and paradise. I am overdue for a great family vacation, but too expensive today. Our last trip was 2013, Make a Wish for my special needs daughter, Ava. We went to FL. Had a blast.
We didn't have a lot of money growing up so we didn't necessarily take vacations. We'd go to Daytona once in a while. Only 5 hours away. But we drove everywhere we went. And mostly to visit family. My aunt and uncle and cousins in Tennessee, which was beautiful. Kentucky sometimes. But we never ventured out west or anything like that. I feel the same about leaving the country, too much bad stuff going on now, here and abroad. I'd just a soon keep it simple. Id rather drive my own car or a rental because at least you can't get delayed at an airport etc.
When hubby retired in 2016, we vacationed in Croatia for 10 days, we got sick so we decided to change our return flight . The country is beautiful with lots of culture to take in. At our age the time zone change kills us 😂
You need to experience camping. ⛺ You are missing life. Camp on a nice river with a freshwater spring with tubing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing and biking. You live in Florida Ginnie Springs during the off season is a beautiful place. Ice cold water. ❤
no desire to camp ever. When in my twenties all my friends camped. That was our big vacation every year....it was horrific! I absolutely hated everything about it.
A permit to camp?? Not in my state. I went camping by the river and decided to camp in the back of my truck, I woke up with a cow mooing in my face 😂 fun times.
My vacations are ALWAYS going to visit family.... No islands, no beach, no theme park, etc. We drive never fly it's all about reconnecting with family and seeing America
That's why camping is so good. It's our home away from home. We have a full kitchen in the camper and can stop at any time to eat or grab something to drink. We also have control over or environment.
I don't want to lay on the ground. I don't want bugs on me. They are doing face recognition software at airports now. We are becoming China. Turn off social media, take a nap, go out to dinner, maybe a movie. A staycation is the way to go.

😂 I used to try to explain to my ex that we lived in the woods so we were technically “camping” in my mind. He’d want to go camp out on the property. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s not like we had a ranch in Montana or something! Lol Now I don’t mind camping but I got over sleeping in a tent in the yard a long long time ago! He’s since decided to go all mountain man. Bought a hundred acres and built a cabin. So I guess he was serious about camping! Lol Although I do think in the long run he made the right choice.
My wife and I went to the Bahamas for a week vacation and while we were in our room there was a knock on the door and I looked through the peep hole and there were two guys they had no uniforms on and so I didn’t say anything I just watched them as they knocked a second time I tell my wife it’s two guys did you call for anything she said no so I keep looking at them through the peep whole and sine did not respond they finally turned around and just took off and so I said I am so glad I did not answer them because no telling what they might have been up to. I have been to Cancun Mexico, Playa De Carmen several times and I never felt any Danger like what I felt that day in the Bahamas and I will never go back to the Bahamas again, Mexico I know can be dangerous but, I never felt afraid while in México and I had some great times while in México’ so folks just be real careful and alert. Because like Scott and these two gentlemen were talking traveling I rather stay inside the United States for now 🇺🇸🙏.
Ridiculous that a US citizen has to prove who they are for the real ID’s. I brought in my birth certificate, everything they needed but since I’m a woman and got married, so my name changed, I couldn’t get one. I needed a marriage license…..that I can’t find and am too lazy to track it down.
Camping SUCKS!!! For most women it’s like housework but outside in a bigger space!! Hiking is just a gym outside where you don’t have to smell the sweaty guy next to you!
For most men; camping is a way to give a good woman a break from housework. By doing all of the setting up the campsite, cooking, cleaning and tearing down the campsite and Tetris packing the car up when it’s all done. Hiking is about the destination; not the journey. The journey is sometimes the bonus; because of healthy and engaging activity of it all.
