The fungus is called Ergot, and usually grows on rye (but also occurs on wheat and barley). It contains lysergic acid and apparently is used to manufacture medically synthesised LSD. It's also been linked to the origins of stories of Lycanthropy in Europe and the possible reason for Norse berserkers being so damn rage-y. :) FYI, Wikipedia has an informative little article on it, and the article on Ergotism (the effects of long-term Ergot poisoning) contains interesting historical info, and a detailed mention of the theory of its possible effects on the residents of Salem. (It also has a paragraph refuting said theory, but hey, it's good to hear both sides). Hope this helped!

The case of Dorothy flock sounds like they just wanted her dead. Think about it. The first time she was accused of adultery, the second time was witchcraft and George’s last wife also was killed. Did people just not want him married? There has to be some sort of connection.

I love how you have provided your methids and sources in the video! Helps me with my research. If you are looking for any information on New Orleans, Hoodoo/Voodoo, I can provide a few books on the subject.
I’ve learned from several first hand accounts from Icelandic natives, that many of them seriously believe in all sorts of fairies, nymphs and and trolls, etc
We the Kukis of northeastern India performed a ceremony in water bodies in cases where the COURT cannot rule the accuse. It goes... If a person accused another of thieving or something else , with no definitive proof, they resolve to perform "TWILUT" which means entering into water. Two gentlemen guard each of the man who are to take part ( to prevent drowning). The person who floats the minute they are ask to submerged themselves into the water is the GUILTY person. The other person who is fully submerge in the water is then carried out of the water by the gentleman who guards him. I dont have any explanation but I witness these proceedings quite a few time.
Woo-Hoo! Been looking forward to this all...Thanks you two, three, four...! It has been found (regression therapy.) that when witches we're burned at the...the soul will leave the body and the body still screams and moves, but not sure the body still feels the pain being the soul is out. It still would suck though!
🌸 everyone accused of being a witch, were innocent. As per this video the wealth was given to the accusers. The witch trials gave malicious people the opportunity to kill people they were jealous of, neighbour against neighbour. Even a woman that declined infatuations was suddenly a witch. There were even children or teens that loved attracting attention that kept inventing tall stories. Lots of people became blood thirsty for easy money & for jealous hatred
I hope to hear more about these women in history. I feel that they were unfairly judged. For some reason it makes me feel like I am there? 👁👁 Please continue with anymore that you have. ✒📜🕯 I can't stop coming back 😁👍 They are all great when you tell them! I will wait paitiontly for the next one. Thank you and stay well. 🕯🤲🕯
Two Dogs?? The best argument I’ve ever heard was that the true witches were far too cunning and smart to ever get caught. That’s also assuming that they indeed existed. It absolutely makes sense to me, and I’m not too quick to write off witches. So much of our history has been lost.
Close minded and fear of the unknown still plagues the ignorant . Thank you for your time be blessed

It’s the mantra in my household. Research makes ALL the difference.

Allowing the innocent to not just sink in the water, but to perish! That's murder!
thats the point of bigotry and persecution combined

Thank you for another amazing video love this channel!!!
Great video Paranormal Scholar
The case of Dorothy flock sounds like they just wanted her dead. Think about it. The first time she was accused of adultery, the second time was witchcraft and George’s last wife also was killed. Did people just not want him married? There has to be some sort of connection.
Interesting and good narration!
What's also crazy is the fact that witchcraft/sorcery is still a crime in some countries punishable by death (I'm looking at you, Saudi Arabia)
Even before the early witches of Greece there were “witches”- example: the witch of Endor , in the Bible.
Hi!! Fantastic video!!! The content is really interesting!!! I would like to know something not directly related to it, thoug: sorry by the "out-of-context" question, but you play a classical piece in the back sound of the video, one which I have been trying a lot, to find out the title and composer, could you help me out?? It appears when you mention Great Courses Plus. I woul really appreciate if you could answer me that!! I'm quite a fan of your channel. Thank you for your time, content and best regards!!
I love listening to you Paranormal Scholar! Your very smart and stick to the facts, plus I love your intelligent voice 😍
Thank you for watching, John.
This was excellent🙏🙏🙏
What a great piece of history. My thanks.
I love how you have provided your methids and sources in the video! Helps me with my research. If you are looking for any information on New Orleans, Hoodoo/Voodoo, I can provide a few books on the subject.
Thank you - I am glad you found it useful. Best of luck with your research!
This video was super educational. I learned so much. More witch videos please!
Awesome video, thank you for sharing your work, your research and amazing voice. Love from CA.
Awesome video!
Thank you!
So glad I was born in the 21century that’s the dumbest think to allow the innocent to sink and perished what that solve
Paranormal/ghost/just spooky shit in general channels are my guilty pleasure.
So they killed the innocent and killed the “guilty”?! Wow, this should be taught way more and intensively in my opinion.
I hope to hear more about these women in history.
I feel that they were unfairly judged.
For some reason it makes me feel like I am there? 👁👁
Please continue with anymore that you have.

I can't stop coming back 😁👍
They are all great when you tell them!
