Fear of the dark was commonplace in the most ancient of days. As a result, many monsters of mythology were said to emerge and prowl about the night, and some directly connected to it. Monsters that are human during the day but shift into savage beasts under the light of the moon. Demons that skulk about in the shadows and prey upon sleeping people. Abhorrent creatures that hide away until the sun goes down, seeking the flesh and blood of mortals. This program will discuss a dozen of the darkest and most chilling monsters of the night!

16:08 once again the heinous laughter of the Headless Horseman from “Adventure of Icabod and Mister Toad”. Still sends chills down my spine.

9:25 sure explains the reference made for the popular said Disney Series “Gargoyles”. Or Hugo, Laverne, and Victor from “The Hunchback of Norte Dame”
The introduction to this video was so perfect. It explains so well the basis of how these stories came to be, the origins of folklore. In terms of werewolves, they change according to the geographic location. The werehowls were new to me, but didn't come as a surprise.
Kamazozt ( sorry if not properly written) I first learned about it in a fantasy romance about vampires.
It's it just me or the Philippines offer us some creepy creatures? The more I study their folklore, the less I want to set foot there. 😅
Gargoyles, I'm a 90's girl. Disney's versions can't be ignored and probably added to my natural curiosity about paranormal and folklore.
Incubus / succubus I read about growing up, they are usually connected to vampires as they too fed from humans.
Phantom lights, I learned about essentially from Celtic legends, mostly Scottish. The most entertaining portrayal I ever watched was on "Ancient Magus Bride". Give it a try, the anime is full of folklore.
Ghouls I associate with zombies somehow, even if I know after research that they are not the same.
Headless Horseman... Terrorising, for sure. I was enthusiastic when I learned about the Dullahan and the connections between both legends. That gave me a few days of research and fun.
El Silbon the first time I knew about him was through you.❤
Vampires... Oh, God, they are one of my first loves in terms of creatures.
16:08 Man that laugh is so iconic and nostalgiaic.🎃❤
Please make a video about the mythology, superstitions and stereotypes of redheads and red hair
The Boogeymen are also nocturnal monsters, I guess they deserve a video of their own.
Boogeymen will get their own video yes!
Once, I was watching a video on El Silbón and suddenly a whistling noise came out nowhere! I think it was an insect but the timing freaked me out.
Werewolf, vampire, headless horseman and gargoyles, weretiger and wereowl are my favorite monsters of the night 🧛🏾♂️🐺🐯🦉🎃
Interesting information! Keep it up! New subscriber here!
Thank you my friend for educating me on these creatures you are a credit to folklorists and monster researchers and I am forever thankful for your videos.
Funny, I sleep under a full moon whenever possible. Always helps me feel well rested and energized when I get up.
Was even going to get some moonstone and howlite.
That's all in your head. You're just weird.
Ever since you guys introduced me to the wereowl on the day after my birthday last year, I am proudly deciding to add the wereowl on my official list of wereecreatures.
Werewolves, Demons, & More, Oh My!
Who else wants a video on Romanian mythology?
amazing that we are fascinated by the unexplained that you say is still here.
Your subtext mentioned HP Lovecraft in the “Ghouls” chapter - it’s worth mentioning that he also wrote of the *human* definition of ghouls, most notably in his story “The Hound.”
Where has this channel been all my life??
Momo vs. Phantom Lights!
This needs a part 2 or more ghost lights Boo hags and Shadow people
Fun fact: Camazotz is also one of the Titans in the MonsterVerse.
A fellow Kaiju/Titan fans I see!
Silver weakness for werewolves is invented by the Universal monster movies.

Awesome video!!!!🎉🎉🎉
Can a Werewolf or vampire survive a nuclear explosion?
Only one way to find out
If they were real, I don't think so.
“Creatures of the night.”“ Creatures of the night?” “Creatures of the night!” Rocky Horror picture show
Dear Death, please leave Keith David alone!
Can you please please do a video on Mnemosyne The Goddess Of Memory?
Excellent video!
I think Millennials are the last generation that truly remember what the fear of the dark was like from an ancestral perspective. Since the boom of science and the technological age the human imagination has been subdued.
People have been saying this since at least the 18th century, in the Age of Reason

Can you please make a video about Martians?
Is that really mythology?
@@WordsOfTheTeacher I think so.
How do we know it's aliens and not fae folk kidnapping people?
I think I once heard that there's an African myth about these god's that came to earth from the constellation Sirius, and that the Annunaki in Sumerian mythology were supposed to come from a 10th planet
Lord in Heaven, these creatures are better off being in the imagination than reality.
The Wild men and the MOORS.. Google that and click on the pictures...my ancestors faught Monsters, witches, & Demons, that's why they hid Black history.
