What has helped me through difficult times is journaling, gratitude journaling, meditation, and taking some walks outside. I just broke up with my boyfriend of three years (mostly long-distance) and I know it was the right decision, but it's so hard. Similar to your story, we were in a loving, healthy relationship but couldn't make compromises on lifestyle and where geographically we wanted to live. That makes it even harder. It took me years to get over the guy I was seeing in college but now I enjoy single life & will miss the freedom I have when I do meet someone. I think being single for a while will be a great time for you and the right person will come when you're not even looking for him. No, I don’t regret it. But it’s definitely not easy. I think most people don’t break up with people just out of fear

I went through a breakup with my boyfriend of 5 years in 2020, and I felt pretty much like you. This is just me from the future telling you that it gets better! I believe everyone should be independent and happy being single. It gives you a chance to find what your interests are, rather than having another person persuade things a certain way.
