Hearing your bike gave me chills! Was unsure whether to buy just slip on, full system or only headers... but this video made it clear for me. No need for full system. BTW, have an S1000R 2017.
I am running full Akro and Brentune and love how light and powerful the bike is. This looks like an amazing bargain. Love the new Bosch ECU which retunes itself.
Just ordered a set yesterday for delivery to Australia. Mine is a 5/21 so it's going to get a tune straight away. Looking forward to seeing yours tuned as well.
Let me know how you get on and check bhpuk out they can send you a device to plug and play and upload a tuned map. Makes a noticeable difference and removes that annoying cold start feature!
How long did it take for your headers to arrive in Australia. How much if you don’t mind for the headers shipping etc? I’m in Melbourne and looking to get the headers too!
@@ΘεόδωροςΝτουγερόγλου-π1σ it was about 2-3 weeks. Shipping price was included in purchase price. They are awesome and I thoroughly recommend them. You definitely need to get a tune afterwards though and you don't need a new muffler as the OEM exhaust sounds great. I think it was about $900 for the headers all up plus a tune around $1,300.
Great video, bike sounds great! On the parts where you're using the lav mic, sound is only coming through left channel...not sure if others are getting that too?
Something to aware of is that oxygen sensor, its looks like it’s sitting on the engine casing, so I don’t know if you want have a look to see if you can clip it out the way
Well he's concerned about his neighbors when he rides early so I think the Headers with Stock muffler gives it the right sounds when on the throttle but has just enough muffle to quiet the idle. I have just a Leo Vince slip on and am considering going back to stock muffler when the headers get installed for that reason.
That sounds much better, I bought new s1000 last year , it seems to lack bottom end compared to my old 16 plate s1000, I was wondering if it was just strangled with being euro 5.
Hi, i fitted the same headers as you but when i started the bike i had an engine light. road it for a small bit but didn't reset. did you have this happen to you
Keep toying with putting black widows headers on my XR, comes with an Akro but sounds naff, is yours now loads louder than before? (Cameras dont pick up the true sound)
Where do we stand when it comes to the MOT if we get rid of the Euro 5 nastiness? I am thinking of doing as you have done, I think it sounds much better and I agree with what you have said about the fuelling in a later video. I am a bit concerned about dumping the euro 5 to find I have a issue a couple of years down the road. BMW (understandably as a main dealer) tell me not to as they say it could cause issues with things like being illegal, riding in London for example. Have you kept your original set for MOT purposes? I am on the fence between getting the flash with the Euro 5 still on to try to sort the fueling or to go ahead and change the lot. I would really appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks for the question! Bikes are not tested for emissions in the U.K so nothing to worry there. If a MOT garage failed your bike for an exhaust then that business won't be around for very long. Literally every biker changes their exhaust. Anyhow you can always keep the original headers anyway in case any future legality mean you need to stick it back on. Main dealer will have to tell otherwise
@@BikesofRye Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. Have you come across anyone doing the flash update while keeping the original headers, or is that a waste of time? My main issue so far has been the fuelling, I have had an old 600 that was far smoother but that was long before any of the Euro 5 nonsense. I am not complaining about the ride quality, generally love the bike but that would be my one gripe. I'm not that bothered about a couple of horses more but getting rid of some flat spots would be nice. Also I will probably ride it around for a while just to make sure no issue before tinkering, just incase I had to take it back for warranty issue, unlikely but feels a bit silly to do it in the first couple of weeks of ownership, maybe I am wrong? Whilst I am hear, thanks for all the videos you do, they have been really helpful. It is fantastic to be able to follow the journey as it gives an invaluable insight, the gueninuely do help, so credit where it is due.
Very nice, but I’m sure the neighbors won’t enjoy it as much when it pops.😁 I think you have to put a header on in order to see any real improvement in performance. I put a Competition Werkes pipe on my old Street Triple 675 and while it sounded great, it ran like crap until the dealership re-flashed the ECU. Even then, I didn’t notice any change in power.
The worst thing about owning a brand new bike is running it in and waiting to do certain mods. I've got a 'double R' so I'm really interested to see how you get on with this bike as I think I'm getting too old for mine.
maybe as its legally track use only. As is I don't think it sounds better or goes any faster. Just get a belly ban that covers the fugly cat imo and save the environment and neighbours.
My 2017 XR has Akropovic headers and stage 3 Brentune. I kept the standard tail pipe as the 2017 Akro adds no benefit for an extra $1000 and looks ugly. Sounds fantastic! I also shift back to road mode when approaching suburbs after a weekend ride.
how do you go over 100kmh on this bike without wind protection? pun intended, what's the point of powerful naked bikes other than showing off? want to go fast - get an RR, want to go fast and be comfortable - get an XR. why get R which is the worst of both worlds? Even less comfort than RR, unless all you are doing is cruising at city legal speed, which still doesn't make any sense because XR is better at it.
great sound, but i think it is selfish. you should live near a nice, popular twistie road, to have every weekend with good weather turned in to a race track. (wich will eventually lead to people banning bikers on weekend, like in the nice parts of Austria) And catalisers are there to protect OUR environment. All this and all that cost for an extra couple of horsepower that are not usable on public roads. I make it a rule to 'shift back' my XR to 'road' when passing build up areas. Of course, you are free to do as you like.

Proper! Absolutely no need for a slip-on. Clean setup.
VERY VERY interesting that has surprised me nice work mate

That, sounds, AWESOME!👏 Loving those pops and bangs🤤
I honestly don't remember anyone doing these comparisons and keeping the stock can. It really shows what all that Euro5 stuff robs us of.
The MT10 is another great example, fit even just a decat link pipe to stock headers and can and it sounds incredible
Sounds great mate! You defnetly need a tail tidy (NRC) and bar end mirrors (CRG)?
Sounds really good and raspy, has a good tone, not just loud.
great video! great comparison
Great video, bike sounds great! On the parts where you're using the lav mic, sound is only coming through left channel...not sure if others are getting that too?
It’s fine for me
Only left side for me too
That sounds great mate 👍🏻
Wow 😮 absolutely amazing 🤩
I now know what bike I really want now 👌👌👌
Let the shopping commence 👌
Bike is looking and sounding good 👍
Sounds lovely, did the same on my Z 900, lost the cat, fitted Leo Vince factory S can, got removable baffle, but too loud without it.
"Yes officer it is the stock exhaust"
Sounds amazing 😊
Sounds fantastic
Damn, I’ve been wanting a s1000rr but the s1000r is also starting to pull me in.
Nice sound improvement any performance add?
Sounds mint. I’m thinking of doing this on my XR. Scorpion end can.
Sounds brilliant and not too loud I reckon. shame you can't keep the small black exhaust cover though
I mean, I wouldn't want to be your neighbour but that sounds awesome.
It's going to be interesting to compare when it's been tuned too
Love it. Sounds great
Did you have to have the bike remapped due to losing the cat ?
Sounds very nice 👍🏼
He will do, yes. Or at least it should be for it to run well and not run lean.
Hi did the bike run okay without a tune thanks
Ha bisogno di mappa motore per i collettori black widow?
Excellent music that is lad,

Money well spent. Crackn' good bike!
Did you have yo tuned after? Or is the bike could run ok without a tuned?
Definitely an improvement, just curious, why didn’t you go for a full system? (Headers to muffler)
The muffler is already pretty much straight through. And it's quite small
cost..probably…a few more views on these videos and that won’t be an issue

Just got my s1000, would I be able to order the same headers to the US and have bmw install them?
Yes Black Widow ship to the US and you can have any reputable motorcycle mechanic install them.
Just curious as to why the standard Can
That sounds much better, I bought new s1000 last year , it seems to lack bottom end compared to my old 16 plate s1000, I was wondering if it was just strangled with being euro 5.
Yep, better get your Brentune

Did you just disconnect the exhaust servo cables and left the actuator connrcted to the bike!
Just curious. Do you wear full gear when you go for a proper ride? 😊
Yes full leathers
@@BikesofRye I thought so 🔥💪 like your content, keep it up mate 👍
Sounds insane massive improvment over stock, just got to change the can now 😁
Must need a remap after that ?

afaik, it only pops in dynamic pro (even stock). Just put it in any other mode setting and no pops.
Not sure what you did with the audio, maybe you did a 'normalise' on the whole track? That would explain why I can't hear what you're saying?

No need but you will unlock more power if you do
I love it! But if you get that 1 cop...🤣

Way too🤪niiiccceeeee✌️
extremely loud, bad idea. Just this will get us blocked from all the roads in Europe
It actually isn't as loud as you think especially when you install a proper silencer rather than keep the stock one in place. Check out my other vids
