I love this series because I feel like it really helps in certain scenarios. I'm still struggling with stamina problems myself so it would be awesome if you could cover that soon!
I absolutely love this series!! Please keep this up, I plan to test out tipping on some of the maps I've been struggling with, and I'm very interested to know more of the meta that exists within the community!
My biggest tips are (for someone who climed from Normal to Expert+ in less than a month) 1: Use practice mode and reduce the speed of faster songs at a comfortable level. This will teach you the flow of the song and can greatly help with positioning for your next notes. Do this if your brain can’t keep up with the notes. 2: Over-exaggerate your swings while training because they will force you to commit to your blocks and reduce hesitation. 3: Use large swings while training to greatly boost your endurance and stamina. You’ll get exhausted faster, but you’ll get faster results. Do this if your body can’t keep up with the notes. 4: Don’t get lazy with your swings 5: When reading notes, look in a specific spot where you can visibly see the notes come in one at a time. That way, your brain can process the order where you have to slice the blocks. In faster levels, you only look at the direction of the blocks if you trip and miss a block on the stream. 6: There is no definite way to hold your controller, but make sure it is firm or you have some way to lock your controller to your hand. 7: Play faster songs to get faster. You’re not going to beat it and that’s not the point. The point is to adjust your brain to the speed of the song so slower songs will feel much easier to you. 8: Don’t worry about your score if you’re just trying to beat a song for the first time. 9: Use your wrists to be more efficient at hitting notes. It’s a lot harder than it looks for faster maps, so be patient and understand it will come with muscle memory.
This series is awesome, please keep it up! One thing that I struggle with is knowing what song to go to next. If there was like a playlist of increasingly difficult ranked songs, that would be amazing for me to orient myself. Almost like a campaign mode for ranked maps.
When you’ve got 400 hours of play time from the days before stuff like this video existed so you’ve already taught yourself all of these tips... still though. I do appreciate the effort you guys are putting into this series! I’ll be sure to recommend this to newer players. I think it’ll be helpful!
Just discovered this series as I'm trying to start tackling more Expert+ level songs, and speed is one of the things I've really been struggling with. This is so helpful, thank you!
Keep making these contents, it's really useful for a newbie like me. I improve from barely doing 8 star maps now I can start reading some 10 star maps like Anomaly and melancholia.
Hello, I realized through a Reddit post in one of the comments that I currently I don’t know much terminology in the game and would really like if you could make an episode showing all the terminology about stuff.
Great series. No BS, and extremely helpful. Just got my second covid shot though so i might have to all wrist it today. As soon as I pulled my headset out my arm started getting sore. Was trying to play before the soreness kicked in.
This 100%. The faster I go, the more wonky my swings get, to the point my sabers look like they're having an epileptic fit. This leads to bad cuts and misses. I use a Rift S and I'm sure it's not tracking because I watch top Rift S players and their swings are completely straight even at 280bpm+ speeds.
Could you do an episode on swing optimization? I can read faster maps fine, I just can’t physically keep up. If I use more arm then I run out of stamina fast, and if I use more wrist then my accuracy takes a massive hit :(
You just have to get more fit. Optimizing your swings isn't necessary and not nearly as efficient as getting more fit or just having less mass to swing around in general.
@@SaltyButter0 I can now beat most ranked songs. To get better basically just play. Switching to challenge temporarily really helps with speed and stamina too
I can’t see fast ones nor can my arms go fast enough to even hit some *slow* ones, and my brain can’t say “Hey, that’s Green on the right, swing green up” It says “Hey, that’s green on the right, but imma tell your right arm it’s blue and to swing down instead”
Can you do an episode on common patterns? 400-500 hours in, and I still can only identify a jump and a stream, and I know that there's a lot more. That, and I don't think a resource of of all the terms and what they mean exists yet anyways.
I hover at the top of the 500's and bottom of the 600s and typically score within an 88% to a 92% on the songs I can beat with some 95s and 96s in there but until recently couldn't consistently pass Routine - Silent Siren and have only. Can you make a segment about some of the movements used to get through fast one handed portions? I can consistently pull off a 93-95% until the one handed portions of Happpyyy soonnggg and Milk Crown where I fail. No fail I get some pretty decent scores but those don't count for anything.
Try recording your plays and then watching them. Generally, you'll find that your swings start to curve away from the blocks or just don't make it to some at all.
@@freedom_syllable8706 I've rewatched many recordings, I miss most of them. I don't know if it's speed at this point or just holding them in a subprime way. I grip oculus controllers upside down with my fingers wrapping around to the joysticks and my thumbs lightly against the rings.
@@gbmisasexybeast Sorry for the late reply! If you still need help and are interested at improving message me on discord at DE127#3588 with a clip of gameplay and I can tell you what you need to work on. good luck!

You just have to get more fit. Optimizing your swings isn't necessary and not nearly as efficient as getting more fit or just having less mass to swing around in general.
Use your arms to swing in a general direction of a note, then use your wrists to increase accuracy and initiate the note hit
The best tip I got was to stop overswinging. I went from a 76% on Bangin Burst to just under 90 in a week of restricting swing angle a bit more.
Could you please also do an episode on proper warm up for avoiding injury?
Yup I'm planning on doing an episode like this soon. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Taichi doesn't warm up at all lmao.. My method to warm up is to play not the hardest pp stuff and then get to the harder stuff when I am warmed up
I can see fast notes and comprehend them, but my arms cant do it. I just need more arm stamina to get better lol

No "just the tip" jokes. Can't decide if good or bad.
For me, the spawn in location is sometimes too noisy. I tend to focus on a point slightly below it, somewhere closer to the edge of the note platform.
