Who would've thought this quirk could actually be useful for something? Also, it's very fortunate that you can even solo Baelheit to begin with. Love the editing too!
Nice Video and Explanation! Now I am even more hyped for the hd remaster :D I dont think they are gonna fix this, but I hope they fix the Arena Bug that screws your Gamefile, do you know of any "harmful" bugs in baten kaitos 1&2 that SHOULD be fixed? Do you have any concerns regarding the switch port?
There are a few things you can miss in BK2, and a lot of things you can miss in BK1. Most of them are missable by design, such as boss photos and the Warrior's Mementos sidequest in BK1, but here are a few bugs that prevent 100% completion: In BK1, giving the kids in Azha 21 magnus at once skips the reward for giving them 13 magnus. There might be other bugs, but I can't think of any right now (unless the auras skipping evolution stages counts as a bug). In BK2, you can apparently miss out on a Sedna magnus drop in the Lava Caves, which sounds like a bug to me. Also, I heard that if you join the Lefties for the Anuenue election and don't find the candidate until later in the story, the quest becomes incompletable. And finally, I'm not sure if one could call this a bug, but the Ballet Dancer only appears in the Vega building site, so if you miss that enemy or its Rabbit Dash drop, you can't complete the field guide. Here's some more stuff that can be missed: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/917921-baten-kaitos-eternal-wings-and-the-lost-ocean/53576467 gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/929928-baten-kaitos-origins/51569491 Ideally, the developers should make it impossible for players to get locked out of 100% completion (and get rid of the New Game + requirement in BK2), but I'm not expecting that to happen. Also, travel log storage in BK2 is a potentially harmful bug, but it's not like it happens on accident, and it's rather fun to mess around with so I hope they don't fix it. Right now I'm not super worried about flaws in the remaster. It's still in development, so anything could happen until release. And even if it ends up being a bit of a flop like so many other re-releases did, I think it will still introduce many people to the series and generate interest in Baten Kaitos 3. Also, they're adding cutscene skips to both games, so speedruns will probably be a lot more fun in the new version.
@@Exchord The missable Magnus in bk2 in the Lava Cave is a random drop from a enemy that doesn't spawn again after beating the boss and you can also miss a magnus by not helping an npc in the desert after some story-trigger(either solving the conflict in azha or beating the lava caves, i dont remember exactly) in bk1 you can also miss multiple magnus in the airship-section when you enter mira for the first time. i cant think of a way to collectively fix all those occurrences. paper mario 2 had professor franklys trashcan which stored the items you missed, but thats far from optimal. i guess everything will stay the same, hopefully we get some quality of life changes and the ui plays as well as before
