The 70s called and wants the large wooden beads back for macrame plant hangers. The wooden beads collected dust back then too, but at least were part of a functional item.
I finally succumbed to my desire to have a white kitchen.. (refaced the cabinets and donated the oak doors, drawers, hardware etc, to a friend who has 1970s pressboard cabinets) .I have color though.. my cabinets are white but the color comes in counters flooring and small splashes of color on the exposed walls above the cabinets and around the windows.. . My kitchen was so dark, now it's bright without having to turn on flood lights!
My absolute favorite kitchen that I have had was a sunshine yellow theme. Oak cabinets, creamy ivory walls, butter yellow counter, lots of natural light. Totally not on trend today but it made me happy just to walk in there.
My favorite kitchen of all time was the huge vintage kitchen/dining room in Moonstruck. Lots of light/white and a giant table with room for everyone to congregate in the kitchen while still leaving room for cooking & cleaning. Way too many open or exposed shelves, though. I would want all the cabinets closed except for a very few cabinets (one or two) with glass doors to display antique & hand-made items, such as woven baskets & ceramics.
Never have been a fan of vessel sinks or using large ottomans as a coffee table. You need a tray to put a drink down. Love that top and its lovely color you are wearing today.
Trend that I’m over: exposed light bulbs on every light fixture. I mean like over industrial/ farmhouse type. I think it’s better to have a mix of styles, especially if it’s literally a chord with a bulb hanging on it. It’s one of my favorite ways to mix styles is through light fixtures. Throw in some more traditional or contemporary fixtures to jazz it up a bit. I actually still love subway tile. I think it’s classic and hard to go wrong with it. I do like seeing it done a bit different though. Do a stacked or vertical design, or maybe a straight herringbone.
Several years ago, I painted my honey oak kitchen cabinets a creamy white, then put on brass hardware and black granite countertops. So classic. I still love it to this day.
We stayed at a beautiful hotel in England years ago that had renovated its bathrooms to include partially enclosed showers, that is, with a half glass wall. Needless to say, water went everywhere. I couldn’t imagine what housekeeping thought! I ended up cleaning the bathroom after every shower. No reduction in room rate was offered. It has to be one of today`s more ridiculous design trends, along with open kitchen shelving. Great video, Garrett, thank you!
I have a half shower and live on the UK... We get used to cold and wind. I don't find ours floods out though. The shower must have been put in the wrong place compared to the enclosure. I hope the rest of the stay was good.
I think some of those are hotel rooms retrofitted with half glass for accessibility reasons. The existing floor slopes the wrong way though so the whole bathroom floor gets wet and slippery so you have to mop it up with towels to avoid getting your feet wet or slipping.
I will always have a white kitchen - I love it and always will. There are several trends I’m over but the one I could never get on-board with was farmhouse. Unless you actually live on a farm of course. 😉
Your videos get better and better, Garrett! You had me laughing all through this one! Like you, I'm OVER GRAY FLOORS! "The first trend we hate is... painting antiques" - immediately clicks 'like'. Agree on pretty much all of these. Floating cabinets - I'd forgotten how much I hate these! I've got one in my current bathroom but it's between a shower enclosure and a wall so it doesn't look too bad, although it's a pain to clean under. They're just one of those things that are often trying far to hard to be 'modern' but just look ugly and cheap. I could rant all day about things I don't like, but one thing, I don't know if it's been mentioned or if it's still a trend - a while back there was a thing for boxy plywood interiors. Sheets of plywood stuck to walls and ceilings. Featureless cabinets and built in cupboards all made out of bare plywood. An expensive material that looks cheap. Trying so so hard to be trendy but looking like a bike shed or pop-up shoe shop. I normally love wood but I can't stand this look. I'm sure it can't age gracefully either. Just seems like a waste of good wood to me.
like white kitchens because it’s ez to change by adding colors when you feel like change. i’m a changer so red today blue in couple months and orange for fall.
I am over oil rubbed bronze. Had it in last house and all hardware rubbed off to brass! Current house remodel I mandated black matte doorknobs, hinges, strike plates door stoppers. Couldnt believe how hard it was to find in traditional. What little there was is very modern so I had to custom order everything😤 I am also over round door knobs. Lever style is more practical. Easy for arthritic hands, easy to turn if hands are wet or lotion-y, and you can open with your elbow! :D
When I had my kitchen reno 11 years ago, I considered open shelves but am glad I went with closed cabinets with glass doors instead. Best of both worlds.
You're so right about open showers. I've never liked those either. When my bathrooms were remodeled the builders talked me into open showers because it would look more spacious. The thing I dislike most about them is that water gets everywhere. I spend 10 -15 minutes drying off my whole bathroom after every shower.
Ohhh I hate the wooden beads on a book - I feel like it would deter anyone from actually interacting with the coffee table books because they don't want to mess them up. Not the point of a coffee table book.
I love a white kitchen depending on how it’s done. I don’t have an issue with subway tile’s, I just don’t like cleaning grout lol. This was pretty on point
I have a dark 70s kitchen in my 1920s Bungalo style home. Planning on remodeling with white upper cabinets and a "sagey" green lower cabinet with a wood floor. Will be using subway tile backslash as is period appropriate. I am looking forward the lighter look in my kitchen. Totally agree with no open shelves. Everyone I have ever talked to with them has regretted putting them in for the reasons you stated. Great video as always.
I have a house that was built in 1900. It's a very small house but I love it. I've got in the kitchen and put in white cabinets, large subway tile with gray grout, wood tone floors, and sweet mustard colored walls. I absolutely love it. The appliances are also white. So there's a good deal of white but definitely not everything is white.
Very thin grout cracks & falls out as the tile expands & contracts with temperature changes. "Normal" white grout needs to be repeatedly sealed or it absorbs dirt & never looks clean again. I really hate grout in a kitchen. I wish my rental had smooth & uniform counters & backsplash, e.g. cut from stone or a stone-like manmade material. You still need to caulk the seams, but maintenance is nothing compared to "miles" of grout lines.
@@jeanvignes that's one of the reasons I went with gray grout lines. The idea of white grout lines was nice until I thought about the cleaning and then I decided no way
Advice: Couches and chairs made before the early-mid 80's are worth reupholstering, since the frames made pre1985-ish are made from solid wood with good joinery work. Couches and chairs made post 1985 (unless it's a super high quality line piece like from Baker) are usually made from cheap pine and stapled together. Post 1985 chairs and couches are throw away items. Hunt antique fairs for old couch and chair frames as those things will last 1000 years. Sad note, in the 70's, my mom had a gorgeous dusty rose velvet camel back Victorian couch that was 100 years old made with an oak frame, until my two 6'+ brothers, each over 200lbs, were wrestling and broke the frame. Still makes me wanna cry, as it had lovely lines and was very comfortable.
I love my kitchen it's white with warm woods. It is warm and cool, not antiseptic but clean lines. Not an open shelf (several glass front doors). You're right about cleaning!
I have a floating cabinet in my bathroom because our house is heated with hot water baseboard rads. The cabinet is tucked between 2 walls and secured on top of the rads (that you don't see) and supported on both sides under the cabinet. We actually replaced the original cabinet from the 1960's and it was a big chore to get it off the wall. It would have never fallen off.
I have a one bedroom studio and a two story townhouse built on a barge, hence a houseboat. The studio has white Ikea cabinets and farm sink. But I added a light brown old wood hoosier cabinet. I bought it back in the 70's for $25.00 at a thrift store It ha traveled the world with me. Love the cool, clean and warm. The houseboat , you can see all the areas. So it is wood everywhere. A white kitchen would be a stark contrast to everything and would not make for a cohesive first floor.
Open shelves are just not my thing. I imagine dirt, grime, grease and spider webs that aren’t even there! I DO have the beads, but they indeed have a purpose! Mine are rosaries that my family collected from their travels. All colors, some stone, crystal, natural things, or handmade beads. I actually prefer an all white kitchen, because my kitchen is tiny, and white is great when it’s easy to clean. I love that you’re so inclusive in your ideas, Garrett. This channel is great!
The beads! Why? I never understood them - yet so many people bought them. Good video Garrett, keep these interesting & informative videos coming! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you are enjoying Loretta. Please take a moment to support the channel if you haven't already, and join our very valued subscriber family. :)
Garrett, you are just fabulous! By far the best designer on UA-cam and completely genuine. Sooo glad I just happened upon you. Your videos are fun and insightful. I get so excited when I see a new one is up and can’t wait to see what you are gonna be talking about. I’m moving to a new space soon, so I’m taking everything you say to heart. Thank you!
I had an all white kitchen in a little 1945 ranch house and it suited it perfectly. Now I have a house in the woods that’s a little more rustic, so I have a midtone cherry wood cabinets, black and cream granite, bamboo floors, and walls that are a tan sort of color. Again, this kitchen suits the house perfectly. I also have a couple of open shelves on the opposite side of the kitchen from the range. Absolutely no problems with dust or grease so far and we’ve been here for several months. One trend I really hate is that fake distressed furniture. You know, with chippy paint or part of the paint buffed back off. It just looks cheap and tacky.
Gray everywhere interiors, open shelves in the kitchen, beads (wtf???) furry pillows (I had, donated them to a thrift store), cheap white kitchen cabinets, and painted vintage furniture are just a few of my “unfavorite things” that you covered. 👍🏻😊
Garrett, so many things you love, I also love. Your support gave me confidence in my style. The other morning I climbed out of bed and looked at my bedroom and absolutely loved it. I love all my renovations, but my bedroom sang out to me on a new high note. It totally lifts my mood and spirit. Thank you for your inspiration.
About 18 months ago I decided to redo all the floors in my entire house. It's a small house :-) I wanted luxury vinyl plank flooring. I could not find any that wasn't either gray or dark dark brown. I finally settled on one that I actually found that was a mid to late tone wood color. It grew on me and now I absolutely love it. I am so glad I didn't just settle for gray or dark brown. And many people I know who did put in gray floors are really regretting it now. But of course they can't afford to change it
Thank-you! I was starting to think I was the only one that wasn't crazy about floating cabinets. And the useless decor items, like the wooden beads, furry pillows? Dust magnets, why would anyone want to do that?
I have a fluffy white pillow on my couch to add texture to the space with a smaller blue pillow in front of it so it’s a fluffy frame. When it gets ratty I’ll repurpose it as a kitten snuggle bed for a future batch of fosters.
I updated my mid 1970s kitchen (and baths). I kept my oak cabinets (quality of mine isn’t available now), but retouched stain and new coat of polyurethane. My new granite countertops are a simple white, and used it for the backsplash as well. I had all walls painted off white. I have lots of natural light, so I’m very happy with improvements.
Dear Garrett, I saw you featured on The U.S. Sun magazine. Great job! Thank you for all the valuable design info and understanding you provide on your channel. Have learned so much! All the best from a gal whose house looks better thanks to you!
Hallo Garrett!! All Grey..NOT...I am also not a Medien Person No Instagram, Tritter, face book. ...I do Love White, Off White, and Blue!!! Basta!!!! All the very best and thank you for the great information!!!
Cherry cabinets, black Ubatuba granite-- in the process of changing countertops to white with veins quartz. Keeping the cabinets as is, but will change the hardware and update the sink
Ohhhhhhhhhhh what a fun video to watch! Taste is so personal, I actually LOVE LOVE the white kitchen, the subway tiles (done right), I also like the floating shelves AWAY from cooking area and different than you I actually like the modern look of floating vanities, counter etc… I HATE the wooden beads, the pampas grass, the fury pillows, the painted antiques and the backward books 😂😂😂😂
Oh, my, gawd, that white kitchen! I have never met an international dish that I don't enjoy cooking. Splattering sauces and gravies in a white kitchen means cleaning sessions which may be longer than the cooking itself. No thank you. 👍😁 Just wanted to add that your advice is practical and timeless. As an observer, not any kind of expert, of residential style it appears that those two traits are primary.
I love a white kitchen. Just the cabinets though. I love, love, love bold colour on the walls and throughout the space. Makes me want to investigate. I just bought a new home last month and the whole thing is gray. Inside, and out, and can't wait to paint and add my personal touch.
White kitchen here, always. But, I have an antique step back cabinet in natural wood color that gets a lemon oil rub. The eating area, blue below chair rail, cream above. Lots of pewter, plants. For me, very comfortable, warm. Yep, a big AMEN to all of your comments!
25 years ago when everyone was getting their honey oak or their dark wood kitchen cabinetry, I got white! I loved it then, and I love it now! But….I am constantly wiping them down, so there is a maintenance issue associated with them. That is getting better though since my children are now grown and gone.
I agree with all of these except the dupes. Because sometimes there are things that are mad expensive but gorgeous and you want it but cant justify spending the money so you get something similar and satisfies that bug.
I have creamy white cabinets with brushed brass hardware. Honed black granite countertops. I would like wood flooring but the back of the house doesn't get a lot of light. I have a cream tile. I love it! Fresh and happy.
I went from a "white kitchen" that had white cabinets and appliances, to one that is a lighter maple, with stainless steel appliances and very light beige (almost off white) countertops plus white floors. It previously had brown counters and floors. It actually looks lighter now even though it has less white elements in it.
Floating cabinet…not good. Albert says “No!” Danger! Wooden beads…stupid. Furry pillows…BLACH! Pillow of invisible mites. Get me my inhaler, please! Love you, Garrett! ❤️🖖🏻
I found you after watching similar content and I'm grateful for all of you! your knowledge is amazing and your appreciation for art and its time period is refreshing. LeChic gang from Jamaica
I don't have a white kitchen. I have gray cabinets. When I moved in to this house, almost every wall was painted a pale mint color, and I didn't hate it. But I immediately painted two rooms and I've painted more over the past year. My kitchen is now an ochre color, "Turner Yellow"--the name sold me! I'm going to paint those gray cabinets this year, mainly bc they're painted with latex and it's chipping off (ugh). I'm painting them a dark green that's almost black.
We are adding some dark floral wall paper as an accent wall, with blush cabinets on top and a darker color on bottom. Keeping the walls white so that the dark colors pop in the kitchen. I love a blend of bright spaces with windows and light, but with some moody color schemes. 👌🏻
I renovated my kitten from fake yellow oak,a red brick wall with built ins, and cheap laminate counters with checkerboard tile to white marble, white glass stovetop that blends in seamlessly, dark wood floors, matte black appliances and hardware with some gold accents and painted the brick with white wash. I love to accent the white with aqua accessories in case I ever want to change the accent color.
I took my grandmother's mirrored perfume tray and repurposed it. Besides a bottle of port and glasses from a local designer, I scattered some crystal hearts I had lying around. Definitely not wooden beads, but they do add a little shine to the otherwise dulling mirror.
I just remodeled my kitchen in all white and it looks wonderful. I’m bringing in color with art and blue and white reupholstered dining chairs. And of course people bring color to each space as well. I live in an area with long winters and this kitchen puts a smile on my face every time I walk into it- vert cheery and classic and timeless.
I am on my 4th white kitchen. I find that I can add color and coziness with accessories. My backsplash is stainless steel subway tile which I believe downplays the white a bit.
We recently remodeled our house and kitchen. I had wood 70’s kitchen and went with a two tone, evergreen fog on the lowers and warm white on uppers with lots of natural wood accent pieces and black hardware and light fixtures, two small open shelves near the sink, used a warm white medium sized picket/hex back splash with soft gray grout. Attached living room cream, brown leather with cream throws, light green and blue accent pillows, warm woods and medium wood color long wide luxury vinyl plank floors throughout entire house and tons of plants, We love it!
I just changed my wood kitchen to a white kitchen and I love it. There are 2 small say one inch rows of a subtle greenish color on the back splash which is white subway tile. I add color to the kitchen with rugs and towels.
Garett's, you really take care of this subscriber family. I cherish your advice and kindness. Every episode brings me happiness, as I learned from you how to live a more beautiful life.
I have a cream kitchen but a grey backsplash and a black counter. It looks nice, I just bought the house so so I am stuck with it because it is all very new. I love mixing warm colors like rust and browns with grey, it warms it up.
I subscribed a few months ago, I really like how honest you are about cleaning things, I don't want to clean any more than I have to, although, my home is very clean. love all your expressions, ideas, and you make me laugh, Thanks! the trend I don't like is the fury pillows, they give off a college dorm vibe to me, the gray that everyone is painting their cabinets, that is the color of a battleship. oh, and I like it when you share your dogs with us.
The grey rooms coupled with the white kitchen look like a prison tv room adjacent to the prison mess hall. My neighbor has this and it's hideous. Sterile looking with all the charm of a greyhound bus station. She even painted her stucco AZ home dark grey. It looks like a battleship. The only thing missing is a huge gun turret out front. All the neighbors hate it.
Your list is absolutely perfect!!! 😂. As soon as I heard the first point, I knew that your Lechic fam are my people! 😁. I agree with everything you said!! I have watched your kitchen videos. I need help! My beloved kitchen is slowly falling apart. It is mahogany with brown granite and cream travertine. Dated but classy. Would you please do some videos on selecting traditional flooring, countertops, and backsplashes that go with various kinds of cabinetry??!! Thank you!! 💜
I have 2 white bookcase. I put books by type in ikea white cardboard magazine files and write the type of book with gold felt tip pen on each (cookbooks, etc.) A bit cop out, a great tidy though, makes dusting so much easier... 🤗
I’m starting to plan a kitchen update. The cabinets are solid wood and to the ceiling but I don’t love the stain color. I was thinking of going with an off-white, with brass hardware. I would keep the wood floors. I agree about not painting good wood pieces, especially anything real mahogany, walnut, or birds-eye maple.
Consider it strange but I describe kitchens as breakfast, lunch or dinner... breakfast (warm), lunch (white/gray), dinner (black). Lol I prefer a breakfast kitchen. 😆 🤣 😂
My kitchen was all dark wood when we bought this house, with very poor yellowish lightning. With the floors being a semi dark wood, you could actually think you were in a cave. I re did the whole thing in a creamy white beautiful cabinetry and creamy subway tile (no black grout!) We got good quality lightning and now it looks open, airy and clean. Glad to see that most of the "distressed" this and that trend is going bye bye! Agree with you on everything again Garrett! Kisses to the pooches.
I did paint my mothers dark cherry wood bedroom set. first chalk white then sateen white and found beautiful glass square knobs and will pass it on to my great grand daughter .Now it looks very nice and is at least 80 years old the drawers the whole set is sturdy and strong. I like some flipping not all. Definitely did not care for the bead thing. I am African American and in Africa beads were representative of culture or religious symbol. Thanks for your videos and your fur babies.
Every single one of these! (Except floating vanities. I get your point but I think there’s an appropriate use of them in some modern spaces, particularly hotels, and I love the floating shelf under the floating vanity.)
Thanks Erin! Oh yes, I agree. In my opinion there are appropriate uses for them like in hotels, and in commercial spaces as long as they are safely and appropriately installed.
I like white kitchens but I'm tired of seeing them. Don't like floating shelves for the exact reasons Garrett mentioned. I also agree with all the grey, I've been tired of that for the past couple of years. Way to go Garrett you've hit the nail on the head with all of the design trends.
Here's why I got rid of our glass tub enclosure: I had my 2 year old grandson in the tub for a bath. He didn't want to come out. So he scooted to the side where the glass was closed. I slide open that glass and he scoots to the other side where the glass was now closed (laughing diabolically). This goes on for several rounds. Meanwhile Grandma's (me) back is giving out. Glass doors gone, shower curtain in place.
I have a small, dark kitchen so opted for all off-white cabinets. Selected a quartz concrete looking counter, 'zellige' off-white tiles, stacked, and a modern Moroccan floor tile that ties all the colors together.
Can we just take a minute to say how stunning Garrett looks today? On point hun! Love this for all of us...
Thanks so much!
He is on point, he looks trés cute, and yes, I very much immediate noticed!! 💕 💋
hey there, hi!! gets me every time. xxxx

A white kitchen is timeless. Mix with warm tones, dark cherrywood floors and pops of color. Love traditional design.

The lightbulb I agree but like standard subway tiles give me visions of NYC rats in my head. I don't get that thought if it is in a different pattern.
Totally agree with you about the lightbulbs. They never appealed to me because I thought they looked too ‘glarey’…….yeah, I just made that word up…….
Yeah who wants a giant light bulb glaring in their eyes. 😎

When I had my kitchen reno 11 years ago, I considered open shelves but am glad I went with closed cabinets with glass doors instead. Best of both worlds.
I have NEVER liked gray!! It’s cold! I love creams and mochas and watery blues and greens
You're so right about open showers. I've never liked those either. When my bathrooms were remodeled the builders talked me into open showers because it would look more spacious. The thing I dislike most about them is that water gets everywhere. I spend 10 -15 minutes drying off my whole bathroom after every shower.
Chandeliers over islands/countertops. Tied (knotted) curtains. Eiffel Towers. Stainless appliances. Cookie cutter design trends.
I am with you on the open shelves in the kitchen. Major grease and dust collector.
Thanks so much, and thanks for sharing Merida!

We love our white kitchen! Beautiful black sink, brushed gold hardware and a natural travertine stone back splash with wood accents for decor.
Thanks so much Emily, and thank you for sharing!
The beads! Why? I never understood them - yet so many people bought them.
Good video Garrett, keep these interesting & informative videos coming! Thank you!!

Thank you!
Wow, thank you! I appreciate your lovely comment. Thank you for being a part of our subscriber family, and watching the content. :)
I NEVER understood the distressed look. Why does someone want their furniture to look old?...lol., so I agree.
That giggle at the end of “…unique, LeChic” was ADORABLE!
Glad you and Auggie like that!
Thanks so much Brenda! Glad I can be of help. :)
As usual, spot on. However, I love shower curtains. I am not spending time cleaning glass doors and I know you love that for me ❤️
About 18 months ago I decided to redo all the floors in my entire house.
You are so welcome!
Floating cabinets remind me of a cheap motel room. Motel 6 comes to mind.
I agree about the floating counters, but I sure would like to have one of the floating toilets so I don't have to clean around the base any more!
Dear Garrett, I saw you featured on The U.S. Sun magazine. Great job! Thank you for all the valuable design info and understanding you provide on your channel. Have learned so much!
All the best from a gal whose house looks better thanks to you!
My pleasure! I'm glad I could be of help, and hope you enjoyed the article. :)
I love this channel because it is real and raw
Hallo Garrett!! All Grey..NOT...I am also not a Medien Person No Instagram, Tritter, face book. ...I do Love White, Off White, and Blue!!! Basta!!!! All the very best and thank you for the great information!!!
Thanks for sharing!!
I’ve never had a white kitchen but would prefer a cream color. So bright and airy
Please no more fake olive trees or other fake plants/flowers all over the house people…… Another great video Garrett! ❤️
Thanks so much!
Cherry cabinets, black Ubatuba granite-- in the process of changing countertops to white with veins quartz. Keeping the cabinets as is, but will change the hardware and update the sink
Ohhhhhhhhhhh what a fun video to watch! Taste is so personal, I actually LOVE LOVE the white kitchen, the subway tiles (done right), I also like the floating shelves AWAY from cooking area and different than you I actually like the modern look of floating vanities, counter etc…
I HATE the wooden beads, the pampas grass, the fury pillows, the painted antiques and the backward books 😂😂😂😂
Thanks Erika, and thank you for sharing!
Oh, my, gawd, that white kitchen! I have never met an international dish that I don't enjoy cooking. Splattering sauces and gravies in a white kitchen means cleaning sessions which may be longer than the cooking itself. No thank you. 👍😁
Just wanted to add that your advice is practical and timeless. As an observer, not any kind of expert, of residential style it appears that those two traits are primary.
Thanks so much, and thank you for sharing!
Thanks Terry!
Oh! Also open shelves are great in a laundry room, but collect grease and dust in kitchens. Agree 💯 I just love this channel 💕
Thanks so much Ree!
Floating cabinet…not good. Albert says “No!” Danger! Wooden beads…stupid. Furry pillows…BLACH! Pillow of invisible mites. Get me my inhaler, please! Love you, Garrett! ❤️🖖🏻
Thanks so much Gloria!
Studio apartment with opaque white kitchen and decor on light pastel yellow walls, light woods and peacock blue accents
I found you after watching similar content and I'm grateful for all of you! your knowledge is amazing and your appreciation for art and its time period is refreshing. LeChic gang from Jamaica
Thanks so much! I appreciate your support. It's great having you as part of our very valued subscriber family. Jamaica is so beautiful!
I have been subscriber for several months. I thoroughly enjoy your channel Garrett. Thank you. Best,
Cinda
@@cindamersel4580 Thanks so much Cinda! It’s great to have you as part of our channel family. Glad you are enjoying.
😊😊🐶🐶🐶
Sounds lovely Jan!
I placed an old crystal necklace in a crystal bowl and I think it is charming. Inspiration was the wooden beads.
Awesome!
I am interested in curtain lengths and trends
I just changed my wood kitchen to a white kitchen and I love it. There are 2 small say one inch rows of a subtle greenish color on the back splash which is white subway tile. I add color to the kitchen with rugs and towels.
Garett's, you really take care of this subscriber family. I cherish your advice and kindness. Every episode brings me happiness, as I learned from you how to live a more beautiful life.
That’s so nice of you Stella! Thanks for the lovely comment, and your support. I’m glad you are enjoying the channel!✨✨✨
Subway tile and rats 🐀 comment had me dead, Garrett!! 😂🤣😂 Love your channel!! @15:28
Thanks CeeCee! If you love and are enjoying the channel please join our very valued subscriber family if you haven’t already. 😊😊😊
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome to the channel. It's great to have you as part of our very valued subscriber family, and thanks for sharing!
I know, I missed seeing the fur babies too ... where is Cornelius!
Appearing soon! :)
I like a colorful kitchen. I’m using peach, yellow/gold, Tera cotta and clear blue with white tile (yes tile) countertops.
Thing is these antique painters say that it was in awful condition when it literally just had a single scratch on it.
I put books by type in ikea white cardboard magazine files and write the type of book with gold felt tip pen on each (cookbooks, etc.)
A bit cop out, a great tidy though, makes dusting so much easier...
I laughed out loud when you mentioned living in a subway station. So funny and so true!
Thanks so much Gloria! Glad you enjoyed. :)
I agree with all of them. Especially painting antique furniture 😵
I like white kitchens but I'm tired of seeing them. Don't like floating shelves for the exact reasons Garrett mentioned. I also agree with all the grey, I've been tired of that for the past couple of years. Way to go Garrett you've hit the nail on the head with all of the design trends.
Thanks for sharing Carol!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. :)
Here's why I got rid of our glass tub enclosure: I had my 2 year old grandson in the tub for a bath. He didn't want to come out. So he scooted to the side where the
glass was closed. I slide open that glass and he scoots to the other side where the glass was now closed (laughing diabolically). This goes on for several rounds.
Meanwhile Grandma's (me) back is giving out. Glass doors gone, shower curtain in place.
yeah i have one of those (great grandbaby)
I have to agree about the white kitchen. Classic.
I have gray bamboo floor.
I have a small, dark kitchen so opted for all off-white cabinets. Selected a quartz concrete looking counter, 'zellige' off-white tiles, stacked, and a modern Moroccan floor tile that ties all the colors together.
Sounds very nice!
Loved my white kitchen in LA had red granite countertops!!!! loved them. Now that we’ve moved I get to reinvent
But I do have black grout in my subway tile I think it pops
