A representatives 16 year old child wanted to be able to vote and her momma thought that a bad idea coming from a teenager who wanted to grow up to fast should become law. What happened was the problem that began in the 1960's counter revolution. Then the 1990's saw everyone receive a trophy for participating even very badly. Today, it is a different world and political reality in Southern Maine when compared to Northern Maine.

I know two poeple personally my nephew and a good friends kid . Both went through transitions as teenagers and both regretted it and both committed suicide, let them become an adult before transitioning then if that’s what they want , back them up 110%

People who feel they are transgender need a safe place...everyone needs a safe place. However, you cannot provide a place for angry and disgruntled children to be harbored away from parents. Parental consent is vital in most cases to strong, healthy children growing into strong, healthy adults. Once the person has reached legal age of consent then let them chose. If they must go the transgender route once they are adults, then that is their decision. Not a decision a child is capable of, in some cases not a decision some adults are capable of but when you are an adult then you have the right to make that choice. This Maine thing is absolutely crazy.

What is wrong is the democrats vote as a block instead of voting for their constituents. If a democrat votes against the parties interests they either 1 get special permission to vote against the party because the vote can win without them or 2 the democrats will do everything possible to ensure they will never come back to the legislature again.

The government says they have the right to transition your kids and takes them away from you, but what do you think will happen when those kids suffer medical side effects? In Virginia you have to be 18yo to sign an operation consent. I helped as an OR manager to cancel a surgery when the patient was 17 and 2 months old not 18. Plus anesthesia refused the consent. Setting ourselves for a lawsuit because pt.was not 18. We wouldhave operated on someone not 18 and not legally qualified to sign the consent
Luckily the parents were there and another consent was signed by them. Trust me when the head nurses had there weekly meeting I made it perfectly clear it was not acceptable. I don't play.
