that's the way to do it! People don't understand what a great coach is all about. The hardest ones are the ones you always remember because the move your soccer skills to another level! good job coach and kids!
I like the way this coach emphasized 'quality' so much. It is so easy to allow kids to just go through the motions. NO NO NO! We come to practice to understand (he has loud and clear instruction) to polish and improve. This coach understands the importance of polish. We don't just get our kids to do the drill(s), we get them TO DO THEM WELL. The difference in a game between a pass that is a yard or two off target, or is bounced in instead of nice and flat - the difference is losing possession versus retaining possession. I liked this.
I just see positive reinforcement with clear instruction. His volume seemed more about being heard by everyone. We don't give our kids enough credit. I doubt their parent(s) sent them there for a cumbaya circle. Hard work means results. And I didn't see wild passes and balls flying everywhere or him having to repeat instructions 10 times. They aren't 5. There are kids not much older than these on ESPN right now playing in the Little League world series.
Very good video, I learned a lot today I’ll be coaching U10 and this will work, this coach it’s very respectful and his voice demands attention and concentration, keep up the good work.
Man...Dave hasn't changed a bit in his teaching method. I can't tell you how important it is to get your feet moving forward after passing or shooting the ball. Countless times we've taken a shot on goal...and didn't follow thru by running at a fast pace AFTER shooting the ball, and the keeper follied. Great training session.
Great inflection coach. Kids do a lot better in gaining an understanding when key words or phrases are emphasized with the tone of your voice. It also helps when the passion pours out onto the pitch.
Omg. I was just watching How I met your mother's , Murtaugh list episode. And it talks about this. They should be teaching kids seriously to get them to serious levels of play. This drill improved me a lot , especially getting the stamina and the culture of pass+movement circulation
Great Session! really good coach, He explained everything clear & precise while getting the players working at high intensity correcting & explaining. Good Job
It’s easy working with 6 kids on a nice warm sunny day. Try working with 20 kids in the rain when it’s blowing a gale and 3 degrees Those are the best coaches
What does your comment have to do with anything? The guy is sharing a drill he does and it will help other coaches plan and get ideas for their practice. What's he supposed to do film it in Gale force winds and sideways rain for you to be impressed?
Who says he can't coach 20 kids in the rain............oh and with gale forced winds blowing..........bringing the temperature down to.......3 no make it 2 degrees!
Not great coaching, to much stopping. Start by showing clearly how you wish the pass and control to be undertaken. Let the drill run a few times to see how its going, if you wish to change it, stop the session, within 30 seconds get your point across then go again. Positive encouragement at this age group is very important and a fun aspect aids learning.
I agree but also it is hard to show them the final product without going through the recipe. Every group is different. My U8 team this season has a real natural grasp on the pace and shot selection. Just trying to get them to read the field and the opportunities presented is the battle right now
Thank you for the feedback. When making these videos there is generally more stopping and explanation because they are instructional for the video audience.
Kids are more resilient than a lot of people think. As long as this guy wasn't being abusive or berating them, they'll be fine and will be better players (and mentally tougher) for it. A lot of coaches and parents in youth sports do cross the line, but I don't think this guy's one of them. I took note of the positive reinforcement and encouragement he gave them too. Plenty of "goods" and "attaboys". Just because he's loud and speaks with authority, doesn't mean he's aggressive. I'd call it assertive. I'll bet his team wasn't winless the way my kid's team is right now.
Kevin Chamberlain yeah but do you know the personalities of the children? Some children needs discipline and a strong voice. Again, he’s not bringing them down he’s being constructive he’s not babying them as he trusts they can take it.
Don't watch it then, pick another sport or have them in something else like art and crafts or gymnastics or badminton! Maybe get into playing the guitar all great things! Just sayin!

Thank you!
Great session. Thought the coach was great. I didn't find him aggressive I thought it was passionate with intensity which will benefit the players
OMG thank God for this .... they need just one more coach in the league so on to UA-cam I went after I said I would step up!
So glad to help!!! Makes my day.
Yes, this is us right now. I appreciate the way he teaches. He's very clear with the expectations.
Great inflection coach. Kids do a lot better in gaining an understanding when key words or phrases are emphasized with the tone of your voice. It also helps when the passion pours out onto the pitch.
Thank you so much! A passion to teach is a certain key.
Great energy. First touch out of the feet and play is a great point to give kids.
Thank you!
I like it and I like the intensity! Work them like they're expected to work in the games. The age of participation trophies has ruined us!

Awesome session! Great coaching, especially the enthusiasm!
This is great stuff Dave. Love (and going to copy) your coaching style.
Thank you so much! Please share the information with other coaches. All the best to you.
Brilliant 1st time i see a coach pushing for following your pass inmidiatly
Very good practice.
Great Session! really good coach, He explained everything clear & precise while getting the players working at high intensity correcting & explaining. Good Job
one of my favorite drills. Some of the kids struggle getting going. But you can really see the progression after a couple times.
Great intensity coach! I love all the little progressions that you have 'baked in' to what is a common passing drill.
Great video; thanks for posting this.
Is very good session ❤❤
Great coaching
Appreciate it!
Цікаво, доступно для молодих тренерів, very good for little boys
The stepover has to be done slower - and followed by an accelation!
So run slow a bit down for trick and accelerate away
very good coaching
"Quick move here then BOOM! And play it... BOOM!" -John Madden lol
Great coach

That's why you also have assistant coaches to manage other stations.
But could he do it on cold night in Stoke ? 😂

one second in and I can identify that, the girl in green has a great touch
Very good
Really helppfu
Am from Kenya need more from you to offer my team

I agree
I think it’s been edited mate. I believe he does let the sessions run longer

Good ayso coach
I'll keep working at it!

Good training but you stop too much , and explain too much , otherwise good intensity.

@@DavedeHartNoLimitsSoccer OK
decent session. let the kids play more. talk less
like let the kids figure it out. this is too military. overseas they have more success with more freedom
No defenders - not game like
The progression of teaching is always very important. No cart before the horse...
Great sessions but don't be super aggressive. They're kids not FIFA World Cup players.
Why not aggressive?? He was great and love the intensity! Yeah participation trophies way to go we showed up!
Dude they're 10 yrs old lol! He's literally yelling at them. Let them learn and make the mistakes. Line drills are not a good tool anyways.

Tell me, did his manliness hurt your vagina? I swear people trying to feminize men, let us be. Shit
Chill out!
the type of guy who is OK with second place.
Very annoying manor. This should be fun for kids.
Don't watch it then, pick another sport or have them in something else like art and crafts or gymnastics or badminton! Maybe get into playing the guitar all great things! Just sayin!
dont be a whimp.....graat session
The Performance Locker. Fun is learning....duh
Go sing cumbaya. Nothing wrong here softie.
How do you know the kids aren't having fun? Sounds like you might be projecting.
Toxic!
He needs to go easier on those little kids! they aren't perfect. He's working them so HARD
Don't be so soft! The opposition won't go easy on them.
I suspect the kids love it and come back to him each season because he cares.
