shot bro...these are lekker rods. I'm still happy with my Assasin Slayers...I believe it's not having an expensive rod..its how you handle the fish n depends on your line aswell
Yes that's true. I enjoy light tackle.
The skill is most important.
However, these rods did suprise me. Extremely light and able to fight anything out there...I got an assassin 14.6, but mine is heavier and not anywhere near as light as these rods.

Good to hear from you, great to know you well. I just bought myself the horizon zero 5 with a 6000 seragosa and 35 pound Berkeley black velvet Braid. The best set up and casting is a dream if you get it right. Be safe and God bless 🙏

Appears that multipliers are becoming obsolete in the surf casting world.
I fish with a multiplier. I think there is a big place for it still. However, didn't carry it with me on this day.
But, I do see what you mean...
The torque is still there but the grinder is the way to go

I'm also keen on the new evo. Just picked up the Golden 3-5oz as my first big beach rod and really impressed. Im sure these new evos are gonna be lukka. Looking for a 6-8oz now
Anyone got recommendations on assassin slayer
Lets see a guy throw a 1oz spoon with a 14ft conventional rod filled with line and a multiplier reel. The skill has been lost from the demise of KP reels and now convectional rods heading the same direction. Not going to spend 5k for a casting rod and another 4k for a multiplier reel. Then there is the cost of braid. That's absolute rubbish, fishing is now becoming an elitism sport where only the rich can afford. Gone are the days where the average bloke could buy a affordable rod and reel. Then the fishing has also declined over the years.
