Dear all and Ritesh ji,As a political science student,I want to take everyone’s attention to a different point, Irrespective from whatever the Akali or Sikh politics is going on, A person who is on constitutional post, and taking his/her decision for his/ her duty, can be sued for religious punishment on the grounds that his decision for against a particular religion, its means the person who is on constitutional duty have to take his decision according to the wishes of a religion not according to the constitution. Not fair.
I think from constitutional perspective ur are considering the issue but in ideal circumstances as we are a secular nation but in case of SAD they were also heading theSGPC and it appoints the Jathedars & SGPC itself a body which is democratic and works under the provisions of constitution that’s why a leader under the influence of his political stature cannot force the jathedars for acting contrary to the basic ethics of Sikhism for a person whom Sukhbir Singh scot free by arm twisting the administrative and police machinery. In a way he had committed a double error moreover when sitting on constitutional position by adhering the oath.
