Masking tape/painters tape is way better and doesn't make your mouse move as much when your short dragging. Electrical tape also leaves a bad residue on the mouse that can actually DAMAGE the surface. Plus, electrical tape has this substance called bpa, and as you rub your fingers on it, the bpa will build up on your fingers, and it can get on your food. If you consume the tiny bits of bpa, you can end up getting cancer, which nobody wants. So if you want to have a lower chance of dying, use masking tape or something. If you wanna use electrical tape, then just wash your hands after using it and you'll be fine. If you want a better explaination, search up electrical tape drag clicking on youtube and scroll down until you see a video made by 'Heli3x' about how electrical tape is toxci for your mouse. So yeah i think masking tape (coloured version) is better.

Yes, you know the sensor at the bottom of ur mouse. Make sure you put it all over so you dont see any light coming through
